Hi All,

According to the message that just today appeared, "it appears that you have not posted on our forum in several weeks, why not take a few moments to ask a question, help provide a solution, or just engage in a conversation with another member somewhere in Casinomeisterland"....so....here goes:

I haven't played anything online in months now. My opinion is that it is too difficult to fund and too uncertain to get paid to make it worth my effort to even try to play online.

I really enjoyed and did pretty well playing online for years, but from my perspective it's just not worth it anymore.

Probably the biggest bright spot is that I have information that l believe to be accurate that online poker is soon to be legal again in my home state. It is pretty regionalized at this point, but I don't know what the future holds. Problem for me is that the number of participants is probably gonna be low, at least for awhile for the deal is for only one state as of now. As I understand things, plans are in the works for expansion. The only hint that I'll provide is that it involves Indian casinos.

Again, I believe that this will be expanded to more states in time, but this is going to happen in my state at least.

I'd love to provide more details, but I'm currently sworn to secrecy.

There, I've now been shamed to posting.

Kevin

Hi kmartinusa,

I am intrigued. Not wanting you to break any oaths here but there are Indian Casinos in so many states now. I am in New Mexico and we have boodles of them. Are you in the Southwest? Knock once for yes and twice for no. :)

Yay!! My new script works!

Personally, I feel that US players should back off from playing at casinos/poker rooms until it is "safe" for them to participate. It may be relatively "safe" for them to play in a legal sense, it's just that payments of winnings are extremely problematic.

But as the next year or so passes, I am sure we will see some movement in legalizing online poker/casinos within states. California is on the move - it will probably be legal within the next two years, and then we should start seeing a domino effect. Go Arnie!!

Kmartin is right - these things are in the works, in fact Intrastate betting is permissible - this is what is being proposed. You will be able to play online but only on casinos/poker rooms served within the state you live in. In my Montreal newsletter, I covered some of this.
