TV show Wolf Creek

So I have been watching Wolf Creek TV show which is now being shown on Fox here in the UK and Ireland and I kinda find it a bit offensive in it's portrayal of Aussies in general. I was wondering if anybody else agrees with me. Of course the evil killer is a great character and is played very well but I find the portrayal of other outback Aussies as being louts and basically not very nice people to be irritating. Now I don't know much about Australians and have only met a few over the years but have liked each one I met. I also think this show could have done with an Aussie heroine as opposed to an American one as I feel using an American one is saying Americans are better than Aussies which I know is not true. Both nationalities are just as good as each other some good and some bad.

So I guess what I want to know is what other Aussies think of the portrayal of Aussies in this show.

P.S. I really don't think it's a good show anyway but it had some potential just not used IMHO.
