Tome of Madness error?

I was playing tome of madness and i got the mega Cthulu, which moves down 3 times before disappearing but it only moved two times?

If you clear both the spaces underneath the C'thulu it falls down until you hit new symbols.

Sorry, I mean the two spaces underneath those again. If it has a 4x2 square underneath it instead of a symbol to land on, it falls an extra step.
