Time to stop playing at MG

Had a nice run on VP at MG last 6 months of 2007 but never seem to move ahead very much. I play at many B&M casinos and I have never seen anything like I have witnessed at MG. It has become quite obvious that something is up with the VP software. I have come within one card of a royal more times in the past 3 months than I have seen playing for years at both online and B&M casinos. Time to call it quits at MG. Good luck everyone. Cheers

I don't know how many hands you played to receive all of those RF's in the SS thread, but one has to think you had more than should be expected....

...which leads you to wonder more about MG :)

It can be disheartening when the cards don't flip your way.

However, I don't think I have ever seen so many RF's posted by one individual.

If you are calling it a day with MG, it sounds like you have taken a real battering.

GL juliack.

Well, a couple of years ago it was ME hitting loads of Royal Flushes at MG. I was only betting 20 to 40 per game of 4-UP, not quite Juliack's level. I had the same abrupt change of fortune. I had a long spell getting 4 to a royal, but never seeming to get that 5th card. I then began to hit well on some of the slots, and have at least had a few more RF hits at 20 since then. I also did well when Double Double Bonus was released in 4-UP form, with 2 RF's in a week, and a PAT low 4OK with low card (800 coins) on a 40 bet (6400 paid).
I have also had a spell with frequent 5 ram hits on Thunderstruck, and that too has passed.
It certainly seems that MG streaks more than it ought to for purely random and INDEPENDENT game plays. I can only think that, while random, the results are not truly independent of either past results for that player, or the play of other players on the MG casino network. I have often theorised that MG have some kind of controlling "envelope" stage between the raw RNG output, and the game result handed to the player. This "envelope" being what creates the enhanced streakiness of the software, and is designed to make boring games more interesting by generating that "can't lose" feeling during a long positive streak. Obviously, there have to be equally severe NEGATIVE streaks to balance the books. This can be hard on a player who has been hyped up into "can't lose mode" by a positive streak, who then plays all winnings, and often more deposits, back into a prolonged negative streak.
This is exactly what happened to me, I won 20,000 on a positive streak, making me feel the game was better odds than it was, and then tried to make a bit more at another casino, only to hit an equally punishing negative streak which took back the whole 20K the next day. This was when I was still a relative "newbie", and I now know that this kind of thing can happen, and happen very fast, far faster indeed than the time it takes to come down from a "can't lose" high to a more sensible level of risk assessment.
Casinos exploit this by making deposits "instant", but withdrawals far more involved. The forum is full of tales where players have played away a win because they had too much hassle trying to withdraw it and cool off from their gambling high.

I would suggest to Juliack giving MG a nice rest for the rest of the month, and waiting for the casinos to start offering a few "come back" bonus offers.
When this starts, claim them, but wait until the games "reset" on the server, usually about 21 days from the last play, and can often be seen by the defaults resetting in the lobby, and the last played hand being wiped and the default screen showing. This should allow a fresh start to the VP, and may get back the winning streak.

I have the chance to try this at Spin Palace. After my massive Munchkins hit, I stopped receiving promos, but they have now started again with a festive slots cashback. It will be interesting to see how the slots (especially Munchkins;) ) play after a 3 month rest of the software. If the casino has a "memory" I can expect a negative streak. If I get "normal" play, even if I lose, it will show that there is no "memory" after the software has rested, although it will not show whether I would have experienced anything worse had I played more after the big win.
I did indeed play after the big win, and hit a HORRIBLE negative streak on EVERYTHING, hence the three month rest.

Another tactic might be to play new games, or games you don't normally play. Move on if the game starts out feeling chilly. If you find a "hot" new, or recently unplayed VP, try it for a little longer, but don't go mad chasing the $100 bet RF.

Very interesting.

I don't think I have ever not played at Ladbrokes for a minimum period of 21 days - lol. I will give this a go.

I also know what it feels like to not hit as well - believe me.

In fact most of us here must know what it feels like.

Any comments? This seems to contradict the 21 day memory thing, or does that just apply to VP?

I think Vinyl has some valid points and it is interesting to look back and see this happen. I think it goes further than 21 days however. In August and September for a period of about 4-5 weeks I was depositing at Grand Prive ($50-$80) at a time, using their weekly bonus and cashing out $300, $400, $500 and $400 each week. Even had 5 Beach Party's on Spring Break for a $450 win playing $.90. Played once more then went to RTG. Came back a couple of weeks ago and it didn't make a difference if I bet $.90 or $.09 (which I did just out of curiosity) and played Ladies Night, Thunderstruck, Spring Break, Avalon and Kathmandu and couldn't hit (1) decent hit. I believe there is a memory and I think they wanted their money back! So, I quit.:D

i'm sorry juliiack, don't wanna offend but dizamn, you have more rf screenshots then carter has pills and now because the natural losing end has caught up to you you feel that something is wrong?why then was it ok when it was flowing the other way?maybe i misunderstood you or something but man.....

Hi Petey and thanks for the reply. I have played at MG long enough to see certain patterns. I have also played many B&M casinos and it is very hard to see a pattern because their games are truly random, not to mention you could leave one casino and have completely different luck for the better or worse at another. With MG I am certain all the casinos are on the same server. When I am losing it is the same at all of their casinos and when I am hitting I usually hit at several casinos. That is one great downfall at MG. I think you might have missed the point. I am not crying the blues because a went from great hits, which by the way was based on the amount of my play, to a great loss. I am quite frustrated about the fact I have seen 20 times the amount of one away from a royal than I have ever seen before. If you saw my level of play I think you would definitely agree. I have spent the last 3 months in a peculiar type of losing streak which seems like a major tease mode. Sometimes we overlook the obvious because we are in denial. This time I decided not to overlook the obvious. I wish everyone all the best luck and thank you for your replys. Cheers

i've enjoyed juliack's screenshots for a long time and it's clear there was a lot of play involved. and though these issues keep bouncing around the forum, Juliack's sentiments seem to be more food for thought...

This should be no surprise to anyone really.

You can not beat the house edge. You can have some good sessions of course, but in the end there WILL come a time where your bankroll goes into the hole never to see the light again. It is just a matter of how much you can prolong this. VP is a good game in this sense, since the low house edge and higher variance (compared to blackjack) can prolong this for a really long time.

But betting 25$/hand at JoB etc. will still cost ~200$/hour in average if you can autoplay a hand in 2 seconds.

It has been a month since my last RF.
Everyday, yes every day 300-500 on VP@ 1.25
Not see it at all.
You lucky, may see many 4 to a RF.

I have see one in 2 weeks.

It is MG.

I am bit luck on slots these days. A good session can get 2 - 5 K
