Hi all,

Just had this email from thrills saying that they will be removing Neteller and Skrill has deposit and withdraw options from 12/02/2018?

The email of course didn't answer or go into detail as for the reason of this either? So anyone else have any ideas or maybe a rep could respond and give us further details?

Thanks

Thrills Casino is an Accredited casino at Casinomeister
Mmm, I wouldn't be thrilled about that.

Seriously, what is the reason behind their decision, they could at least explain.

Yeah well it means that gone are the days of faster withdraws for thrills and their sister casinos!

It means that the process time will be upto 24 hours, then we have to wait 2-3 days for them to appear in our bank account instead?

Maybe this is just for UK players?

But still a strange move for them to do that though! I would have thought that Neteller and Skrill is the main deposit and withdraw options for the vast majority of people who play at online casinos? So this would mean that it would deter them from playing there after!

Deffo possible it's only for UK players, although i heard more of these kind of reports here and there, i think there are a few threads on the forum here, where it was at least stipulated:

In a nutshell, there a re a few reasons: Neteller (Skrill is from the same parent company) are great for most players, but demand pretty hefty fees on the Casino's, or other processors in-between.
Now that international banking and direct banking have increased processing speed (pretty much instant) they have lost a big chunk of what made them stand out, i.o.w. attractive as a payment and WD option..that's the short and simple story :)

Not to derail this thread, but interestingly GrandeVegas Casino where my payments from their GrandeVegasAffiliates Programme are sent to, have removed Skrill as a withdrawal option. This is a big PITA, as I have had to open an Ecopayz account and am still waiting for them to process my withdrawal. At least with Skrill it would take a couple of hours, if a withdrawal was actioned in the morning.

Seriously, do you?
Whenever I mention Skrill or Neteller to people they look at me blankly, and I have to explain, its a bit like paypal!
Certainly talking about in the UK, I would put a weeks wages on the main deposit/withdraw option being cards (and to narrow that down further, debit cards)

I thought payments to Ecopayz were also quick, bummer Webzcas - hope don't more casinos will follow suit.

Payments to Ecopayz are quick. Withdrawing from Ecopayz to your bank account unfortunately is not. It takes up to three days to process your withdrawal and then up to five working days to hit your bank account. Unlike Paypal which is instant and Neteller and Skrill which can be a couple of hours.

I binned Skrill off last year after they raised withdrawal fees again last year, nearly a fiver to withdraw.
Can get it into your bank using debit cards just as quick nowadays as it always took next day for it to go in my bank.
May be quicker and cheaper for Skrill VIP's, dont really know about that.

Got the email and was gonna post this yesterday, just another player unfriendly move IMO, although I'm sure they have their reasons

Last experience with Thrills was actually excellent, Processed an outstanding KYC doc and withdrawal to Skrill whilst on chat, guess that won't be happening again.

See a lot of casinos are adding Trustly which is another 'instant' method and I'd feel actually safer with this as if that day ever comes of a huge win, I'd rather have it in my bank than an e-wallet, downside is I opened skrill as I didn't want my bank statement peppered with gaming transactions (not that there would be that many these days :o)

I feel others may follow suit as e-wallets have been subject to so much abuse over the years and a cause of casinos having to add so many terms to cover their ass, it was in the end, simpler to remove the option altogether.

ever since neteller bought skrill they have been raising fees for players, so i suspect it could be same thing when it comes to fees we as players cant see (casinos fees) so cant say im surprised tbh. To cashout to visa card it used to be $3 or $4 before, now its ... 7.5% with no upper limit. Thats on top of their 3,99% exchange fees skrill has now. I mean seriously, might as well make it 50% while they are at it.

I know they thought they now have monopoly over gambling markets with their skrill acquisition and probably figured whatever fees they charge people will have to use their service, so i for one am actually glad to see casinos are dropping them and really hope more casinos follow thrills lead.

I stopped using skrill too a year ago. It was mainly because of the fact they forced 2 step authentication on deposits and withdraws. Then if the 2 step wasnt enough. I then kept getting the 3rd verify message when I deposited into a casino. Basically the third step was verify my skrill card number. I mean seriously 3 steps to deposit is a piss take. So I handed in the towel with Skrill.

I use Neteller now. And I hope too that no other casinos remove Neteller as a deposit/withdraw option!!!

Can't you have a prepaid card like Skrill & Neteller have, so you can just withdraw the money via ATM?

Do I What??

that that Neteller and Skrill is the main deposit and withdraw options for the vast majority of people who play at online casinos?

Honestly in the real world (rather than internet) I've never spoken to one person who has heard of either of them.
Could just be all the people I know are dumb though :D would be interesting to see if the rep would give us an idea of what is more popular, I do think it would be country specific too, certainly in the UK I would be surprised if cards didn't make up at least 70% of transactions.

ahh ok, Yeah I am not saying you are wrong. But I guess casinos will never divulge that info!

Got put off e wallets when my account was put on review - for me it just creates another company that can slow the cash hitting my hands

And anyway, the whole Sky Vegas 2hr debit card withdrawal and Trustly are both quicker and more importantly, free of fees.

No tears shed but can imagine some may be peeved

Nah, it will be in your bank account within 3 banking days....done it dozens, if not hundreds of times. Last one was just two weeks ago, Thursday midday submitted, in my bank account on Tuesday morning.

You can also apply for a EcoCard Master Debit Card. And on top, you can open multiple accounts with different currencies.

I am using 100% only Ecopayz for my gaming and been a satisfied customer for over a decade.

The Turtles might have been involved.

There's a lot of differences depending on your GEO location i presume, pretty sure but haven't dug into it: i am sure that's the case with many Casino policies, and Payment and Slots provider polices, so it would only seem logic that is the case for ECOpayz as well?

I saw theapple state that Neteller also increased margins on fees for UK, but apart from a fee on player to player transactions (which was free before) for the lower VIP tier and non-VIP's,our rates here in Europe (i think it's the rest of Europe, not sure) the rates actually improved on ATM WD's etc..at least for smaller transactions up to 500,-

That's off the top of my head, so..don't pin me on it:p

I have applied for one after I got my account updated to silver. But as I only opened the account on Friday, it will take up to three weeks for it to arrive. Besides, I need to get this money into my business account. So the EcoPayz Card will not help, plus has additional fees.

You should have the card within 10 days, I never waited any longer. Fees can be quite steep as EP is applying a charge as well as the bank who owns the ATM you are withdrawing from. Plus, if it applies, currency exchange fees.

Thanks. So you removed them because ....

I think Neteller is an old dinosaur, and it's slowly going extinct. Neteller was being treated like a pariah deposit method years ago by an increasing number of casinos. Neteller VIP hosts were burying their heads in the sand, no doubt on the instructions of management. I raised this problem with my VIP host many years ago when Ladbrokes joined the trend (it was still MGS and listed on CM) by banning Neteller deposits from all the daily promos like the scratchcards. Since then, Neteller deny there is any such problem, yet there clearly is if players take the time to read the terms.
This is simply the next step, rather than having special terms for players who use Neteller, the method has been booted altogether.

However, casinos are still taking a business risk because although cards work far better and faster now thanks to the faster payment directive, it also allows banks to snoop on their customers, and some have had mortgages and loans declined simply because of a couple of pretty low level gambling transactions on the account. Credit card providers have also begun to move away from the gambling industry as they are the ones left with the bad debt when a player goes on tilt.

For players, the best way to approach this is to have a separate bank account at a different bank group to their main one and put all their gambling transactions through it. Your main bank won't see these transactions when you apply for a mortgage or loan, they will look at how you have run your account with them and what's on your credit file.

From my experience, Neteller withdrawals are only a day faster than debit card. The main issue I find with debit cards is the banks' automated fraud lock where they will randomly block a regular casino deposit and then the card itself is blocked until I phone the bank and go through a security sequence, which can only be done "during office hours", to unblock that merchant and the card.

The new open banking rules affect this even if your transactions are with a different bank? (providing you agree to it)

Oh good, I mean who needs choice? I want everything to run through my bank and adversely affect my credit standing. Let's just have the one or two payment methods, then casinos AND banks can decree whether you're even permitted to gamble, or are indeed, as feared, a closet money launderer.

Thanks Thrills, you old pioneers you!

I still use skrill but not for much longer as the fees are starting to get ridiculous. Sure they process withdraws quickly weekdays but with Paypal soon as you withdraw its in your bank account in seconds. Just not many casinos accept paypal. Think im going to switch to debit card transactions in the future. No fees and I have a secondary bank account which I can use for my vice. Casinos opting to remove Skrill do not phase me at alll.
