They should have a game Uconn Girls vs Uconn Boys
I would bet on the Girls to win

College Basketball: Uconn deserves highest of praise

Last Tuesday night, the UConn women’s basketball team surpassed John Wooden’s great UCLA teams in the early ‘70s by winning their 89th straight game, not only achieving sports history, but also the architect of one of the all-time great sports stories.

And it’s come not without a certain controversy, one fueled by coach Geno Auriemma’s postgame press conference Sunday night after his team had tied the record with 88 straight wins in Division I basketball.

“Because we’re breaking a men’s record we’re getting a lot of attention,” he said, but he didn’t stop there.

“If we were breaking a women’s record, everyone would say, ‘Aren’t those girls nice,’ “ he continued, “let’s give them two paragraphs in USA Today, you know, give them two lines in the bottom of ESPN, and let’s send them back where they belong, in the kitchen.”

UConn Women Beat Pacific, Win 90th In A Row

STOCKTON, Calif. — You can call what happened Tuesday the calm after the storm before the next storm.

The top-ranked UConn women arrived in California in one piece Sunday, when much of what they left behind in Connecticut was falling to pieces because of the snow.

They came to the University of Pacific for the first time and crushed the Tigers 85-42 before the first sellout (6,150) at the Spanos Center in the program's history.

UConn vs. Stanford: Two Streaks On Line
Huskies Have Won 90 In A Row; Cardinal Have 51 Straight Home Wins

STANFORD, Calif. — — It's not like Maya Moore has much experience with losing during her extraordinary career at UConn.

In fact, she played in only two losses in 127 games, one at Rutgers in February 2008, one against Stanford in a national semifinal later than season in Tampa, Fla.

Still, the thought of those two games still irks her, even though they are distant memories and the Huskies have strung together a record 90 straight wins since the loss to the Cardinal.

This sucks for the end of the year

UConn's win streak ends at 90 in loss to Stanford
STANFORD, Calif. (AP) Stanford really does have UConn's number.
Top-ranked Connecticut's record 90-game winning streak in women's basketball ended Thursday night when No. 9 Stanford outplayed the Huskies from the start in a 71-59 victory at Maples Pavilion - where the Cardinal have their own streak going.
Stanford hasn't lost in 52 games at home. The Cardinal took an early 13-point lead, never trailed and didn't let the mighty Huskies back in it after halftime in this one. They kept pounding the ball inside and banging the boards.
UConn fans accustomed to watching coach Geno Auriemma's team blow past opponents hadn't seen a loss since the 2008 NCAA semifinals - Stanford got the Huskies that time, too, 82-73 in the Final Four at Tampa, Fla.
"At some point reality had to set in, and today reality set in," Auriemma said. "I'm not destroyed about it. Winning that many games in a row, it's unheard of."
