What's your nomination for the most annoying single aspect of any single slot?

Here's mine.

The WMS slot Wizard of Oz Ruby Slippers is, like many WMS slots, pretty damn good. (Probably one of my favourite on the software.)

However, there's one perplexingly irritating thing that it does, entirely as the result of a deliberate design decision, that drives me nuts.

It has the equivalent of a 'Wild Desire' feature, you hear Dorothy say 'What's happening?' and then one at a time, bubbles fly into the screen to turn a reel wild. Each bubble turns a single reel wild.

You can get as few as one bubble for a single reel wild, and as many as four bubbles to turn four reels wild (it can't do all five).

(It's very similar to the way that Wild Desire turns one reel at a time wild, and you've got the tension of wondering if it'll do another, or stop and add up the wins.)

So far, so familiar, but what Ruby Slippers does sometimes (and it's not even that rare), is the bubble will fly into the screen but 'bounce off' the reel and then off the screen again, so you thought you were going to get three reels wild and some nice big wins, but instead you're stuck with two reels wild and naff all.

I just can't understand the design thinking behind it, that someone somewhere thought this was a good idea. (Can you imagine how pissed you'd be if Wild Desire starting doing the animation for a reel going wild, and then quickly undid it?)

It's bad enough when you're doing well, but if the slot is rolling badly to start with, having what finally looks like being a decent hit get snatched away is truly infuriating. (I've quit out of it on more than one occasion when it's pulled that shit on me.)

Would be interested to hear what others' nominations are, I'm not talking about an entire slot that you hate, but one aspect of a slot that you otherwise like, that really annoys you.

On Ruby Slippers that happened to me 3 times in a row with 2 reels wild already, the first time it happened I was most annoyed as the reels were nicely set up for a large win.

Immortal Romance:The wild vine feature rarely hits reels 1,2 and 4
Again the wild vine, when wilds that are not on an active pay-line the animation starts anyway. This happens on a few MGS newer slots and its just sloppy design.

Right, I know from previous experience I'm not alone in being extremely pissed-off with 'Congratulations you won 0 coins' after a blank bonus round, instead of the graphics saying 'tough luck, I have to do this sometimes - now piss-off and pretend it never happened'......

Being more specific, on Immortal Romance the repeated 'clang' of the scatter landing on reel 1 (which it seems to do with amazing regularity and effectively reduces the slot to a 162-way one:mad: ) gives me a headache after 10 minutes when I am using my Bluetooth headphones which I do in my little world of slotting.

Starburst - the fact the bastard is even in existence pisses me off no end.

Hitman - when it's playing crap you will repeatedly get the stupid pick scatters on reels 2 and 3 which effectively stops any other reasonable wins.

Cashapillar - the stupid and repeated habit it has of putting yellow symbols plus granddads on reel 1 then immediately drops in the green/red bugs position on reel 2 so the rest of the animation is dead as is the spin already. This happens on 10 consecutive spins regularly.

BDBA - when the 'heartstopper' spin is happening, i.e. you have 2 safes and the FINAL reel remains as your last chance of the 3rd. it nearly always drops in the bundle of banknotes. Reason? It's the most similar in appearance to the safe symbol and thus it will annoy you more. The spiteful bastards.

Jack and the Beanstalk - the little gimp's grinning face annoys me endlessly as he drops in with no intention of a win, just to rule out 1/3 of the perms of 3oak you can get.:mad::mad::mad:

chateau rouge - playtech scatter and bonus symbols sound only when hitting it or just missing it

tails of ny and perfect date - bet on soft wheels slow down already at 1st scatter, even if the first of the necessery 3, comes on the 4th roll

further just about any slot i lose money on

edit: and i fokking hate immortal romance

For me, typically on non-win spins you'll see the symbols spell out:

KAK
KAKK
KAKA
or KAKKA

yeah...I know you're playing cr*p but thanks for spelling it out for me...:)

I will add Elements on net-ent. Every other spins seems to have 3 winning falls in a row, always teasing and never the fourth win for the free spins.

For me it is some 3Dice slots:

Ching Ching : cuts you bonus round in half or doubles, mostly cuts.

Stickshifter: get the symbol enough, rack up tons of free spins only to go TOO far and blow transmission and lose all of those free spins.

The others can be mean too, Fortune Falls: I almost always get only 3 free spins with 3 butterflies. It might as well say "you lose"

They are down-right cruel!

1) Ruby Slippers - getting 1 character and the reel 5 Wizard/Witch/Crystal Ball and then the respin chucking a shed load of blanks. Just give me a losing normal spin please.

2) Any game that during free spins doesn't let you click on the play area to start the next free spin. Particularly annoying when you get say 7 or 8 winning combos that add up to a mediocre amount and you just want to get on with it.

3) Wildstorm on Thunderstruck II - end of.

Ruby Slippers, I belive I got all characters once but nothing on the last reel.

Immortal Romance, 3 wild desires on reel 3,4,5 and zero win. Sarah bonus, wild vine in middle and on reel 5 usally no win or small win.

For me it's a general behavior across too many slots.

Who ever thought it was a good idea that when you get two triggers and you are waiting for the third the remaining wheels have to go at 800 MPH... or turn real slow?

Just let them roll normally. Jeez!

I'm with dunover worst thing is being told congratulations you won 0 coins from your long awaited "bonus" round, why can't they just say Ha Ha You Lost...

Al

This, BDBA is a terrible candidate for it. Games like 3Dices new Enchanted spins where the wizard expands to give you 3 9's for a total of sweet fa and you just wish the wizard never popped up in the first place. (there's more games like it, not picking on 3Dice it was just the first that came to mind.

Other things that annoy me are when a slots 2 scatters pay nothing and where more than 3 scatters gives you nothing extra.

On any RTG slot: the third scatter you need for free spins just falls short or below the screen SO many times!
So annoying especially when running bad it totally freaks me out.

You would love playing the danish netent casino's then that is removed since its illegal in the danish casino licenss.

I agree Chopley...I think it's the only business, where the designers deliberately try to piss their customers off .... ? I never got that part myself,

And can someone please tell 3Dice (my fav casino) that a 5x win on Enchanted Spins is not a "Nice Win", maybe start those messages at 50X

Al

it does seem to be someones bright idea to "tease" the player, but like many others i just find it annoying, recent example is net-ents silent run when you think an echo bonus is going to land, the middle reel goes all funky and then it stops either above or below the paylines, well when that occurs im more than likely sticking 2 fingers up at the screen in return, just give me a standard losing spin if its not going to land thanks :)

We have a new contender.

The latest Net-Ent slot 'Egg-0-matic' has many frustrating features. If you give it a try you will see why. Especially the free-spins which are shocking.

This slot is only available right now at Betsafe afaik.
