The order of operations is wrong?

I used to like these little Minute Physics videos but this one just ticks me off.



The worst part is at the end when he says "most of the time" the order of operations will give you the standard answer.

The order of operations always gives you the right answer. If you're going to toss brackets in wherever you like you're not getting the wrong answer. You're getting the right answer to a different question.

This is grade 4 math and he's trying to make it look like a complicated procedure.

This video does the opposite. And it implies that there's something wrong with the order of operations. There isn't.

The best way to find a mathematical solution is the easiest way. That is how you limit the chance of making a mistake.
