3.23 hours to lose £66, on £0.90 stake. It's quite unbelievable really. (I know the screenie shows a smaller stake but that's just because it's auto amended as the balance was near 0)

DOA is the world's most boring slot, I wish you could play it in quick spin because it's just so painful to watch! I always put it on Autospin and just leave it now. I love it when the big wins come, but you have to wade through so much crap to get there. Despite all the hours on such a small deposit, I never hit a win bigger than 30x stake, it was just constant 2 or 3x stakes keeping me in the game, with a few bigger wins.

Had a load of bonus rounds, none bigger than 30x stake.

I have to admit from the thread title I thought it might be a movie review of The English Patient.

Given the stake and the amount of time, a lost of $66 is modest.

I've never had a great hit or a marathon session with DOA. I try for a bit most times, but I find that the slot play lacks the excitement factor, perhaps partially due to its sepia colour scheme.

I think I'd rather have another viewing of The English Patient than spend 3 plus hours on DOA.

I wouldnt go near this game unless I was playing with a bonus. Can suck and suck without a good set of free games. Which is fair enough because the free games have the ability to pay huge. Often they don't though. You need to rely on getting all the wilds. I prefer Reel Steel for that reason. You don't have to rely on wilds. I would recommend giving Reel steel a try if you haven't already :)

I usally use autoplay 1000 spins and stop if free spins are won and do something else. Sometimes I just spam right click, almost breaks the mouse.

Best would be if they could get fast spin on the older netent slots like DoA.
Until they get the fast spin the choices are autoplay, spam the mouse or don't play it at all.

$1.80 would have cut that time in half (at least), and had you hit a good one, you'd have been twice as happy. So....$1,80 must be twice as good

You got 3 and half hours out of this rigged dodgy damn slot.

Lock, Stock and 2 smoking barrels. Layer Cake. Trainspotting. Seven Psychopaths. Dredd. RocknRolla. Shank. The Grind. Gangster No.1 and so on and so forth...

As for the OP - I think the anticipation of what could happen makes this game exciting. Although even I would've been gone long before 3+ hours :D

Make sure you add 'Snatch', to the above too

As for DoA (and any other slot for that matter (and maybe it's just me)), I cannot select 'auto-play'. Something in me stops me doing it - yes the game is dull (not as bad as 'Mega Fortune'), but there's absolutely no way I'm going to put money into my online account & then let the computer take away the interaction I have with the game. I also avoid the mouse wherever possible too & instead take my frustrations out on the keyboard - hitting 'enter' twice in quick succession - once to initiate the spin & the second time to stop it.

I know that whether I'm initiating the spin or or how long the reels spin for makes absolutely no difference to the outcome, but it's taken me effort to earn the money I deposit, so I should also be involved in helping it disappear again too!

I tend to play DOA in multiplay mode so the I have at least one slot doing something interesting while I'm waiting (and waiting) for the three revolvers to come in.

I'd like to add Quadrophenia, Sexy Beast, Get carter, Life of Brian and 24-hour Party people to the list of amazing British films please.

Id love to have a 3.5 Hour session on DOA and only lose 60 bucks :p

I also open it in a few Casino's and have 2-3 of them running... Sometimes its fun triggering the bonuses at all 3 places one after the other.

@ Andy - Multiplay as above is what you were referring to or can you open more than one session on the 4 play screen at Redbet on the same game?

Nate

Hi Nate

Yes the Multiplay system we have for playing 4 slots at once in a window. You can't have more than one session going afaik.

For anyone unfamiliar with it Casinoeuro do it very well too.

Nordicbet also do it but not as well as CE.

Cheers

Maybe it's early for me... Have a hangover of note still :) - Can I play DOA on all 4 Windows at the same time at Redbet?

Nate

What am I the Oracle?
Go and try it when you've had your coffee!

OK OK forget it, I tried it and no you can't.

Which is good news for either you or NetEnt casinos depending how your luck is going. Can you imagine the swings?

Thanks mate - If you WANT to be the Oracle I have absolutely NO issues with that - Each to his own I say.

Now for the second cuppa :D - Thanks for checking Andy!

My condolences to ecopac. There is no way to make up for lost time...

Amazing Brit films - besides some that have already mentioned: "The Innocents" with Debra Kerr and "Monty Python and the Holy Grail".

The problem with DoA isn't its variance, it's the fact that it's f'in boring! The theme itself is boring, the background sounds are awful, the graphics are brown and ugly, the gameplay appears slow...

You don't really have the chance to get excited when you play this slot because everything seems slow except the bonus round (which is where the money is).

That's why I posted a poll last week to ask people if they would like to play a version of Starburst with DoA variance...

My god - £66 @ 90p would last me about ten minutes! Yes. This slot can be the biggest dog of all time... and then, just sometimes, every now and again - it buys you a trip to Vegas for the price of a coffee. Just my kind of slot!

What I like most is that your casino decided to remind you at exactly 3.26 hours. Not an hour. Not two hours.

I'd love to have been in that board meeting where the decision was made. I'm guessing it was after a long lunch.

To be honest, that's why I play it. Not because "that it is boring", but it's just a slot.. I don't mind some more fancy graphics, but it can easily be overdone, Wild Turkey must be the one close to the edge for me regarding graphics, yet it's something appealing to it. :)

I'm just saying that stars, glitter and alike with sounds that's similar to a 2012 Hollywood movie is not to my kind.

If you look at another recent thread (I cannot recall which) you'll see myself and Marky agree that despite big win potential, DoA does indeed most of the time play like a very low variance slot. I've seen the same many times, 40 euros lasting 2 or more hours on 27c or 36c a spin. If it IS playing that way, I'd suggest a big hit is NOT imminent. Yes, the slot is random, but to a man on here the big hitters have always noticed how it dies afterwards for a long period, or vice versa the big wins come after thousands of dead spins.

I've had 3 huge (x bet) wins on DoA. And each time the game was actually playing really well in the lead-up; paying 5oak regularly. 5 hats, shot glasses etc. Bonus games galore, and then BOOM.

Yes, and I have seen that too on other slots before big wins. Random slots though, as I'm sure we should all agree, shouldn't 'roll' really. That rolling and those 'tells' are usually indicative of compensated slots, which this isn't.....
