I think rockycatt hit on something in the "Not so happy" thread.

So, I'd like to start it off with...

I'm leaving, I need to get a few hours sleep before I have to go to work...

Have a great day/night all! And Happy New Year!

Have a good sleep Ksech

And after Ksech woke up she said.......

And you all have a great Happy New Years, too.

Thanks for the well wishes, it's getting easier every day. Brain is starting to function a tad better and am regaining most of the use of my leftside. Now, to get the TIAs to stop:eek2:

Ksech, get well soon hun. We miss having you here, but take the time you need to recoup. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask. :)

sorry to make jokes, I didn't know it was serious either! Feel better!

Not a problem :thumbsup:It's getting there slowly. Back in december, right before Christmas I wasn't feeling well. Went to hospital and they told me I had vertigo. So these little 'episodes" I was experiencing, I was assuming they were due to the vertigo. When I went to a different ER last friday (much better hospital), they did all the tests and told me that this was my second stroke. The TIAs won't go away though. I go back to see a neurologist in 2 weeks, they're talking about putting a stent in the brain (not sure what all of that involves :eek2:).
The unfortunate part is this has affected my leftside and I'm lefthanded (so much for being in my right mind:D) so the use comes and goes. And it takes forever to type cuz I have to keep going back and fixing typos:lolup:

Thanks again for all the well wishes.

Kim, I am so sorry for my glib tongue. I had no idea about your actual health. The fact that you can be here (one hand typing and all) and be funny says a lot about your personality.

Good Luck and keep gritting your teeth and making progress!!

As for your comment here:

And it takes forever to type cuz I have to keep going back and fixing typos

Why should you be concerned, no one else fixes theirs! :p

Because I am anal retentive about proper grammar and punctuation!

On a good note! I don't have to go to Oz to find the Wizard, cause the doctors found I do possess a heart AND a brain (although one doesn't want to seem to function correctly at the moment:D)!

Wow...take good care of yourself girl, and continue going to that good hospital. We all promise not to make fun of you if you miss a typo or anything, so don't overdo it.

It's getting there slowly, numbness/spaghetti-like feeling is slowly going away. I don't make a very good patient, and am one of those who wants to be "fixed" immediately. Of course, I made another observation from all of this...
Hospitals could save a ton of trees by just creating lists of things you are allowed to do, eat, etc. instead of the 15 pages of things you can't eat or do lists!

Maybe by the time I'm 90 I'll have total feeling back, BUT at that age then I'll feel all the freakin' aches and pains that come with older age! So maybe that ISN'T such a good thing! :lolup:LMAO

chuchu59! How are you doing? You have been on my mind lately, and I've been wondering how you are getting along! You do realize "we" are way to young for this crap! I sincerely hope you are recouping quickly and know my thoughts and prayers are still with you!

Well, where to begin...Started out Wed. night in a PA hospital, to have ended up in Rochester Strong Memroial hospital the next day. Yesterday I had an angioplasy of the brain done( SURGERY TOOK 5 HRS, WAS BACK IN ROOM BY 2 am), to widen the main aertery that runs through the brain. I've had 5 CT scans done and2 MRIs with countless jabs of needles for IVs and blood samples. The hosptal is not the place to be if you want to sleep. I may be able to get out of bed and walk around today. And EAT!Haven't had real food since wednesday. Maybe o home tomorrow or monday, hope it's tomorrow!

sorry this is so jumbled, still trying to find what they did with my brain...

I'm baccckkkkkkkkkk LOL. They released me on Saturday afternoon. Now that the anesthsia and pain meds have worn off, I hurt like the dickens. Both legs are bruised from the knees up( the process was a catherization through the femoral artery, put through the heart, caratid and into the brain, back down to the other side of the head and caratid). Both wrists are bruised from all the IVs and needle jabs. I have regained most of the use of my hands with intermittent numbness, legs don't want to work right yet, but I think it's because I'm a baby and it hurts to move them. The best part is being able to shower and eat! Have to quit smoking (no big deal, better than the alternative) and start eating a little healthier (meaning more than 1 meal a day lol).

The neuroradiologist who performed the surgery told me the MCA (main cerebral artery) was the size of a hair but after the angioplasty it would be back to normal (or should be) about the size of a soggy piece of spaghetti. No wonder I was dizzy all the time. Now I won't be dizzy, just ditzy!

Anyways, thank you all for your concern and prayers! Hope to be back to snuff soon...

Okay, someone elses' turn to leave (although for a much better reason than mine!)...

@colly, most hospitals here have it setup for wi-fi, but there are restrictions (CM isn't one of them :D:thumbsup:)
