I am sure many of you received this in the email from one of our newest accredited casino

Every day there's $150 in prizes up for grabs for the top 3 players of the day, play on any games you like, if you wager the most you win:

1st prize $75
2nd prize $50
3rd prize $25

If this isnt the dumbest of all "promotional" , can you please show me the one that beats this? Or am I reading it wrong ? I did go to college :-))

And Yes I am calling youi dumb if you participate.....hope MAXD don.t take this as a personal insult to anyone If they did particpate they wouldn't recognize an insult anyway

I've seen worst - If your going to play any ways - there's a chance to win some extra cash - Whats the problem ?

Hiya: imhop, when there are Promo's, that pit other players against each other, based on results, "ie most bets made, or most money put at risk, or most bets/money won, it is only targeting 5% of the players. However, that 5% has a 95% chance of winning the prizes.

For 2 reasons.
1. They have more money than you or i do.
2. They are not afraid to put that money at risk.

Lets face it, some people really do gamble just for entertainment. Some of those don't even care about the, "Money" at all. They can afford to lose it. There is no greater proof of this than at on line poker tables.

Now, if the same promo listed above was something like,.....
play any game
must be on line between hours of ------to-------
players to win prizes are chosen at random
a prize winner will be notified, "On Screen", and must respond via live chat to claim the prize. "this is to prevent bots, or someone logged in but not playing.
imhop, something like this is better.

The prizes are pretty small, and this kind of competition is best done with a leaderboard.

But from the casino's point of view they aren't dumb at all - the longer you wager, the more money you will lose.

The promotion we are talking about has no promotional value whatsoever. Low rollers arent interested because they wont make it to the top 30 let alone top 3 while the high rollers will bet as much as they want regardless of whether they get that extra $25/50/75.

This would have been different if it were a new casino with a small pool of players. Many years ago, I played at City Club (Playtech) and spun about $2K worth of bets. To my surprise, they emailed me and told me I had won $50 for taking second place in wagering the most. Sure, it was sitting there right in my account when I logged in again.
