Telegram casinos are a thing now

A growing number of casino and betting products are now running entirely inside the messenger as Mini Apps. You log in with your existing Telegram account, deposit via crypto, and play without ever leaving the chat.

Reported numbers that I could find are quite crazy. Time to first deposit reportedly 1.5 minutes versus 9 minutes on a traditional website, registration conversion at 72% versus 25%, push notifications through the service bot getting open rates around 82% compared to 15% for email. The format seems particularly effective for Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets, regions where Telegram is already the dominant messaging app, mobile penetration is high, but web casino UX creates real friction for players who are used to a chat interface rather than a browser. For operators targeting those regions the numbers explain the shift.

But for me it raises questions. Licensing is the obvious one. A casino running inside Telegram exists somewhere, it's incorporated somewhere, licensed somewhere or not at all. At least with a traditional website you'd normally see a licence number in the footer.

Dispute resolution is another. If something goes wrong with a withdrawal or a game outcome on a web casino, there's at least a paper trail. What does that process look like inside a chat app?

And are responsible gambling tools being built into Telegram Mini App casinos, or is the whole point that the friction is gone entirely?

Curious whether anyone here has actually played at a Telegram casino and what the experience was like.

Without reading the full article, anyone who does casino business on Telegram is a moron.
The thing is - there is demand for it, so they are probably making money.

The reality is, Telegram is so full of scammers; sooner or later, your players are going to be duped into a scamster's portal...

Telegram is a black market service for people into that kind of thing.

If you give anyone your money on Telegram expect to be mugged. Maybe not immediately but given the nature of that environment it’s gonna happen sooner or later.

Regulation, proper recourse, dispute resolution are non-existant. The whole show depends entirely on people that are nameless, faceless, unaccountable and have your money and your financial details.

Good luck!

PS. Casinomeister will not accept PAB complaints against Telegram casinos. I’m off to amend our PAB Rules to say exactly that.

If people are that dumb and naieve to go on telegram and gamble then they deserve a good scam sandwich in my opinion.

Heads need a good wobbling doing that!

You what? I’ve got three lovely ladies on the go at the moment. They have all fallen deeply in love with me and it’s going to be difficult to decide which one to send money to so she can fly here to see me. They must all be very classy ladies as they insist on flying business.
