What we're your favourite casino from back in the day and why?

For some reason I recently had a moment of reflection about two casinos I used to play at over 10 years ago.

The first was Intercasino, one of the earliest places I remember playing at actually. They used to have all the flash-built cryptologic slots that are sadly no longer available. For some reason they decided to do a rebrand around 2012 and they slowly dwindled away. I never hung around to see their full demise, but checking the URL they seem to still be around.

The other was Mybet, a sportsbook focused on the German market. However, in their online casino that had Aristocrat slots at the time, which were my go-to slots for a good while.

Oh, I am old enough to have received a CD in the mail from 'Casino-on-net' if I recall. They later got merged into the 888 brand. I also got a CD from Party Poker, but that was before they had a casino - they were too busy making money out of poker at the time, circa 2005.

We're preparing content for abc socials which we call, Memory Lane Monday - and put forgotten games back in the spotlight.

I received a CD from the Mansion poker client back in 2007. The first one I joined (Underage) was Oranjecasino:

Not sure they would be grateful for that honourable mention in this day and age - the latter (the thing in brackets, is what I am referring to )

You can buy some of these old CD's on ebay I noticed the other day.

32Red - download client, miss my deposit matches, 9 liners and 243 ways games

Guts - 40% match on a boring Monday plus FS the next day for a £20 deposit plus never seemed to lose there lol, even rep (Yits?) messaged me asking "How do you do it?"

Next/CL/Wild Slots - nice bunch of Everymatrix casinos with regular promos and a great rep (Eric?)

All MG download casinos

Caddell and their reloads / FS offers. - Bonus banned for winning too much, reinstated (cheers Dunover) and banned again for same reason,

Guess I've been making up for all this winning for the past 5 years or more :(

It would unquestionably have to be 32Red, in amongst the profuse MG download landscape, owing much to their trustworthiness and earned reputation, yet also their regular, player-friendly 100% reloads that became the stuff of legend, all the more with the reasonable wagering and non-banishment of games 🙌

The likes of RedBet and their ilk were also super smashing great for all things Netent-related, with Netent at their creative peak and a very streamlined user interface, ensuring hijinks all-round.

Similar, but offering slight variation were always LeoVegas, from whence many slots triumphs sprung, and their pre-Chat email to-and-fros adding a certain charm to proceedings, way back when people didn't seem quite so jumped-up about their slot play......nor neurotic :D

Super Casino was pretty dope as far as I'm concerned, they'd host all things Playtech-related, which was great of course, as I love(d) Playtech, and with their regular bonus smatterings and selections, much play time was had, and payouts swift. Hurrah!

Yet one that will always be remembered with both fondness and bemusement would have to be Virgin Games I believe, with a solid selection of favourites to while away the hours on. Best of all though would still be their sending an actual deck of playing cards as a nice little touch. Honestly, those guys! 👏

Red Queen, Midaur, Slotsmillion and Redbet/Whitebet were all good ones I liked to play at, I think HeyPoker! was another.
Played at Red Queen, took the welcome bonus (250 total) turned it into $1.5k and went to cash out.

Turned out I was in a restricted country they hadn't gone around to adding in their T&Cs yet. They honored the withdrawal due to my big win being advertised on the site. Took awhile to get the money but got paid in the end, so good memories.

Jackpot Party. WMS heaven and a site wide progressive JP that wasn't too hard to trigger. They even had some awesome bonuses with just 10x play through - I'm talking like £500 match on 10x for regulars.
Those were the days when I comfortably played at around £2 a spin and got plenty of cash outs and good playtime if I lost. You won't see me much north of 40p stake these days on 10% of the time I committed to online gambling in the old days.

Casino Calzone, had great rewards system collecting Cals Cash, which could be used to spin a wheel to win between 10-100 £1 Spins. Used to save up 700,000 which took about a month, then get 10 spins on the wheel. Could always make this work to a withdrawal and gave loads of extra playtime.

Bonuses were really fair, as well, often front loaded so used bonus first. Had a great selection of games all at max RTP, though the downward RTP slide had only just started back then and many places still did.

Site was great on desktop and mobile, never had any disconnects or broken games. Was gutted when they closed, think they only concentrated on the UK and Swedish market and it didn't work out.

Betat was a favourite of mine before it went rogue, always decent deposit bonuses and VIP cashback on a Friday with no wagering. I remember after a pretty awful week I got my cashback on a Friday and managed to turn it into a £2.5K withdraw that wiped out the bad memories of that week....
