Surprised no fanfare or publicity

.

I am sure it will be announced as soon as Microgaming has gone through their check list so to speak.

It is the same as when someone is winning the Mega Fortune jackpot. Takes a few days until the winner is being announced since both the game producer and probably the casino must validate the win.

This progressive jackpot was actually also hit a couple of weeks ago, but I guess he played in Norwegian kroner as he "only" won NOK 5.4 million (€7-800k). Press release from Microgaming:

PROGRESSIVE JACKPOT NETWORK WIN ON THE DARK KNIGHT™

28 November 2012

ISLE OF MAN – QuickFire, powered by Microgaming (]www.quickfiregames.co.uk), announces that one lucky player has won an impressive 5.4million Kroner through the Microgaming powered Progressive Jackpot Network.

A 35 year-old Norwegian player won the large sum of money on The Dark Knight™ online video slot via the Unibet site. The Dark Knight game, based on the legendary motion picture from Warner Bros. Pictures, premiered earlier this year and offers players the chance to win one of four Progressive Jackpots through a randomly triggered bonus wheel feature.

Unique in an industry that largely adopts staggered payments, Microgaming’s Progressive Jackpot pays out in one single cash payment immediately, so the Unibet player has received all of the publicised pay-out of 5.4million Kroner.

The delighted Jackpot winner says: “I had no idea what was happening. At first, I thought I had won 5,000 Kroner, and I remember thinking ‘wow, that will be a nice Christmas present for my girlfriend’. But the amount kept increasing and surely enough it displayed 5million Kroner. I couldn’t believe it, I was in shock. I rang the Unibet customer service department so that I could get confirmation of the win!”

From what I can find this was hit at Lucky247 casino :what:

i hope it was not from 20 free chips they are giving to start. I was just checking the terms today

15. The Casino further reserves the right to limit any withdrawal/s from bonus/free money/free games or free spins to (5) times the value of the bonus or free spins issued. Note that this applies to progressive jackpot wins as well. This limit is applied to all bonuses where no deposit has been made unless otherwise specified. This includes the limiting of any cash withdrawal from the initial no deposit bonus of 20 free credits until the fifty (50) times play through requirement has been met.

Interesting- if this was won on 28th November as per one of the posts above- how legitimate is it to have the AVAILABLE jackpot still showing as 5million plus until the 9th December???

Just a thought!

It was won previously in Norwegian Kroner and was about 5.5 million at the time (i think) so it would only take 5.5 million Kroner (£600k) off the £5.5 jackpot which would drop it down the the 5 million level

You would only win the full amount if you played in Sterling as that is the highest currency value, all others pay the same amount in the currency being played, if someone won it in Japanese Yen they would only get £41,713 which is 5,500,000 JPY

Here's the PR from Casino Rewards - once again I am astonished that the casino press release writers dwell more on the casino than the more important interaction with the winning player and his or her plans and reaction....

Seems they have missed the part that 52 million of that has been voided for various T&C violations.

That is because they wouldn't have a clue who the player was as it wasn't won at one of their casinos, a fact that they obfuscated well with their tricksy press release. Looks like you weren't the only one fooled Jetset.
