I have no idea where to post this but I just had to vent.... Feel free and move it if it doesn't belong here.

I freaking did it again. I deposited just a small amount of $50 and by sheer luck at 3Dice I made it up to $1000. I was on a roll! I got in some serious play time but I started to get tired... so I bet bigger to get to my $1125 - it was the amount I needed to be able to pay back my rainy day fund and then be able to cash out $1000 for a wire transfer. I made it all the way to about $1090. And then started losing. Sure, I could have gotten a check, but it was already in my mind that I was doing a wire transfer. And I was tired. And I wasn't gambling clearly.

Did I cash out at $800? Nope. What about $500 even? Nope.

Lost it all. ALL.

Damn, I just want to slap myself. I don't do this frequently, but I do it. And I hate myself every single time. And I knew you guys would understand so I came here... just for a little "Hey, I've been there", "It happens to the best of us", etc etc etc.

Even if you have to lie, LOL.

*Sigh* Now I'm going to bed and be miserable with myself.

Thanks for listening.

LOL, it happens to the best (worst?) of us. Take a breather, and learn from the mistake. Set an absolute minimum before even spinning what you're going to withdraw and don't pass it chasing bigger wins.

I don't think many of us would have to lie.:p

Still a better sleep knowing that your net loss is only $50. Would be a much worse sleep if you'd have a net loss of $1000 (been there too, and it's a lot more painful...):(

Or even better, withdraw the absolute minimum that you want, flush it and then play with the rest. Theres no rule against withdrawing multiple times. It will also prevent you from betting higher than usual.

Ouch....that really sucks. But don't beat yourself up over it - just remember how it feels and the next time you have a nice chunk of change to cash out, rewind back and remember how lousy you feel right now. Sometimes it just feels like you're on a roll and you can't lose...and then you start to lose.

And yes I've done it too. :(

Believe me, it DOES happen to the best of us - even me!

I don't usually blow ALL of a big win - but even throwing half of it away makes me sick to my stomach.
If you have been looking in Winner Screenshots the last few days you might have seen that due to a lovely Random Jackpot I took my £200 deposit at Jackpot Party to nearly £1,200! I did carry on playing, but when I felt it was slipping away I quickly cashed-out £600.
I've carried on & got quite a bit more playtime & still have over £300 left - at least if I bust out with that I wont feel QUITE so bad, having made that cash-out already.

KK

I really feel for you, having done it myself multiple times. You really want to kick yourself afterwards!

I echo KK's advice above, if you hit a big win, set some to withdraw, then play on with a small amount left, and don't touch the pending withdrawal.

Great advice from Balthazar. Flushing is your friend, and stop kicking yourself for losing £1,000... as you didn't. You lost £50. It's only your money when it's in your bank account.

Too many of us share your pain. How many of us suffer from 'just one more spin' syndrome, have woken up with a hangover next to someone we shouldn't have, or bought something on impulse we later regret. Just be thankful that your most recent lapse in judgement left you £50 poorer, and not riddled with STD's or wondering where to store your newly purchased and never-to-be-used 'artic trek 2000' ;)

Oh, I feel so sorry for you. I've done the same thing many, many, MANY times... and to be honest still do occasionally. The thing is it always ends up well, and I'm sure it will for you to. In Sweden we say that what dosn't kill you, hardens you. At least thats what my father always said when I screwed up. And he was a very wise man ♥ When I do a thing like this I usually uninstall all gambling software, do a bit of PC-service and take a shower. Sometimes I'm lucky enough to have something to sell on like Ebay or something, and gets the money back that way. After all, money have a tendency to find its way back one way or the other. Hope you bounce back, after all: Life goes on and who cares in about a billion years :-)
Please take care ♥

I've been there.

I used to aim for $1,000 cashouts, and my deposits are usually $25 - $100. I didn't cash out very often. I can think of several times $900 or $970 bucks dwindled down to nothing. I set my cashout point much lower, and I've did much better since.

A lot of times a smaller cashout of $250 or $300 does get played back... but in several $50 deposits. I can change up where I play a little, take some bonuses, and not need to beat myself up in the morning.

Don't feel bad, I can do you one stupider! I was playing last night, started to fall asleep, and somehow, still not sure how I did it. But I won 600.00 on a feature and somehow while playing another game, I hit the button that took it to 125.00 bet and woke up with 30 dollars balance. LOL,,,, could be really upset, but oh well, won't help.So hope you all get your chuckle for today. Good Gambling all.

Agghhhh So sorry that your are feeling so bad. :( Don't worry we have all done it at some point. Afterall it is called gambling :D Always chasing a bigger win! When your up it seems so easy.....yes I have been there. No worries you will win again and then just think about this thread and CASHOUT! LOL

been there, done that.
The way I did it the other day, was a deliberate decision tho.
I COULD have cashed $1800, but decided to go for the big one, at high stakes....after all, how often do you get the chance to do that...I sure as hell won't do it with my "own" money, so once in a while (Not often, but once in a while), if I get way up, I go for it, deep down knowing, I'll probably bust out.
Like Ian said....it still only cost me a 100 bucks.
Don't beat yourself up ;)

I cannot tell you how many times I have done that..If I would cash out when I hit 5 or 600 over my deposit, I would cash out quite often...But , no
I am going to keep going because I am about to hit something really big...Oh well, just enjoy the play time and don't beat yourself up..

You're absolutely right - it IS only $50 and I have to remember that!

That's awesome, keep it going! And thanks for letting me know it does happen to you :) Not sure why, but it makes me feel better, lol!

That is an amazingly great way to look at it!!! And has made me feel immensely better :)

lol and when you wake up, it's really going to smack you all over again

Isn't that the truth, haha... because it certainly did! I woke up and thought, okay somethings wrong, and then I remembered. Ugh. But after reading everyone's replies I have to say I feel much better now!

Oh man, that stinks!!! I have done that, but only for 2 spins before I realized... losing all your money, AND the play time by losing it all in 6 or 7 spins unfortunately is worse. I'm so sorry that happened!! I feel for you :eek2:

To everyone else, thank you for cheering me up, and letting me know I'm not the only one who has done something so stupid. I'm listening to you advice - I'm lowering my cashout minimum next time right from the start. I will also bookmark this thread and pull it up if I feel I'm doing something stupid again, LOL.

Thanks everyone, I feel so much better after reading this :D

Why does it matter if you lost it today vs losing it on future deposits? It's all the same in the long run.

well because it would take me at least 2 months to lose $1000 and I already have the money set aside to lose that, lol. This money I could have taken and had some fun with :D But I get what you're saying - we all put it back in anyhow!

I know Ive already posted in here but thought Id share a little story

I was down around $3,500 in two weeks of playing MG casino's. No matter what I did or what game I could never ever win. Well actually Id be down $700 and hit a $200 score. Thats the only time I ever hit on that network

I was pretty bitter and tilting big time because I couldnt believe from all those hours and days of play, I couldnt hit.

I changed casino's and went to omni on playtech. I bet $1.00 on a 3 reel slot and won $700. I felt a lot better right away that I finally hit something. But I felt the need to get all my money back. Needless to say I lost that $700 plus my $200 deposit. The same thing happened 3 weeks later. I won $600 on the same casino and tried going for a big hit and lost. I actually had to quit playing for close to 8 months. I was too wrapped around chasing losses which is never a good thing.

No matter what anyone is going to say in here, its going to sting for quite sometime. But as others have said you can always find comfort in saying you only lost $50 and not $3,900 like me :D

That's a tough loss :( Thanks for sharing though... I have been there and know what it's like for sure. It's definitely been nagging at me all day, especially when I got 2 unexpected bills in the mail. It's kinda like my karma you know? lol. I may take some time off too - I feel like if I play I'm just going to be chasing that loss for sure. I tried today to deposit at the new Miami Club casino and my card got denied, which almost never happens... the more I thought about it, the more I felt it was an omen that says I need to wait a bit before playing again. Thanks again for sharing - you're absolutely right, I did "only" lose $50 and the money I didn't cash out wasn't mine to begin with so I do have some comfort in that for sure!

yeah me too

Hi in common with most of us I guess, been there done that got a tour shirt.
So how do they know when you are approaching your previously self agreed cash out figure, personally I blame my mouse, who I now believe is a rat,and rats me out down the ether :) lol.

here is a little kidology trick I use that seems to work, firstly (due to paranoia) I settle on a cashout at around 25% over deposit, so my rat dont know and just in case it can mind read as well I try and I emphasise try to cash out at 20%ish. Obviously not massive returns on smaller deposits but it works ok most of the time.Trouble starts when you zoom up your cashout figure really quickly and suddenly your invincible and thats when the smack comes. Beat yourself up if you got to but it dont make a difference, you just have to work on self discipline, aint that the hardest bit.
Someone else said that its gambling and we are all gamblers so thats where we are at. We try our best and suffer our worst...so be it and press on or quit for ever.(never gonna happen) :)

Good luck to you all in the future.....your gonna need it

I've done the same thing many times and I think I understand why a little better. First because I am from the USA and you have to jump through hoops I just want a decent win. In the past when it would go to quicktender I would cash out more often. Second, if I win at the beginning of the session I still want to play and will sometimes lose. Not too long ago I had read where jasminebed stated that she cashed out smaller amounts and I thought...hey I will set my goal at $500 and cash out...start over somewhere else until I get paid. Guess what??? I have to make it to $500 first...no luck lately anywhere!!! You will ride the 3D train again...next time just jump off before the train crashes :)

Most of us know that feeling. I once hit a jackpot of 2,3K and my excitement lasted one day when my balance was back down to zero. Since that I am more careful. When I am sitting on a considerable cashout, I split cashouts into several smaller parts, reversing them with big bonus offers if possible. Regardless of higher WR or max cashouts. Although the thrill is not the same, its also helpful to cool down and play free tournaments instead of losing it all back. Even longer ago, when I was playing roulette in a B&M casino I won 4850 out of 80 (kuna, not dollars, but still a considerable amount). Instead of running I wanted 5000 and eventually got them, but without the first digit.
To the OP: this happens often and has nothing to do with stupidity, we are all greedy and sometimes its not easy to stop when you are on a roll.
You have two options: to fret over spoilt milk or to put up with a net loss of only 50 bucks and remember it for the next winning time.

Cheers

Balky

I know the feeling. Everybody knows what to do in theory. But when the blood is pumping, you are feeling excited, everything goes your way, you think you are godlike...then everything shatters! It so easy because it is like being high, and then telling yourself you need to stop feeling this good...I mean that's hard :). It is against nature.

Here's the worst story: a couple of years ago i was able to get from a 100$ to 18'000$ only playing that stupid playtech X-Men slot. Of course shen i was at 5000 i did 100$ spins, and of course the bonus rounds then paid like crazy. But from 100-18000 was in 15 minutes. Totally insane, i was not clear in my mind i was pumped and insane. I lost it all. From 18'000 to zero in another 10 minutes. Since that horrible day i have never had problems again cashing out small amounts, of course never means except 1 or 2 times :) but i never reaches 500$ or 1000$ again without cashing out 80% of it when wagering was done.

I learned from that horrible night.

The Title of this thread is "Stupid me Stupid me Stupid me..."Well fot my story its sick sick sick

I have been on a losing streak and the cards I use were almost empty.
Anyway did something I always say only sick folks do Inet takes $20 bucks so decided to kill time (i am an insomniac) and deposited $20
Fooled around with slots trying to "low roll" as you guys say. No luck so at $10 I went to my favorite game bonus deuces wild. At the second spin KQJA CLUBS , held and drew the 10c $1000 and change. Its 1:30 am now I am going to be a kauphy or vegasbum and try their way Stopped at $850 next morning tried again stopped at 615 cashed out Later in day reversed stopped at $ 415 and cashed out.. Unistalled INETBET casino....
Later , tried to reinstall hoping to win another 200 or so but fortunately coud not download the casino....up to this hour I cant download but inet informed me they had already paid me

I am sure if I could have installed i would have lost it all. I did it once before at jc lost the whole ROYAL WHICH OCCURS ONCE EVERY 40,000+ HANDS
SO you know what they say about folks who do the same thing overt and over and get the same neg result YOU ARE AN IDIOT!

That was not to be taken extremely serious, but we all invest our money into a machine that takes more money than giving back. A very bad investment :)

It's the entertainment we pay for.
We can do stupid things, but that doesn't mean that we are stupid:)
You don't call your friends that when they spend a night out for a lot of money, or if someone goes to a movie.
We pay for the entertainment we chose, nothing more, nothing less.
I think it sometimes is a great investment:D

As many may know, I won a fantastic sum of money recently. And I have been a very very good girl. But about a week later, it was followed up by another about half as fantastic sum of money. Which I didn't quite know what to do with, it had been such an anxiety ridden week before, and making a decision to be very very wise given such a fantastic streak of luck.

And I continued being lucky enough to keep gambling for quite a few weeks. But only $3700 of a $5000 cashout ended up in my bank.

But I can add back in $400 or so not having to deposit those weeks.

There's been some take-out, some adult beverages, a gift to my kid, even a trip to the mall today.

I think sometimes it depends a lot on just how much you need the money how you feel about the loss.

I almost ended up down more than that, I got lucky a couple of times on the way.

Sometimes it is worse when you are winning, you think it will happen again.

Today is the first day in about 6 weeks I haven't gambled.

I've lost all I care to lose until after I come back from Cuba.

After that, we shall resume normal programming.

If you could afford to gamble $50, you better be able to afford to lose $50.

But I must say I have enjoyed my run, even though my "run" ended about $1300 ago. I know I would feel differently had I spend it all in an evening.
