This time of the year really makes me miss living in an area where there aren't so many city lights as to make it nearly impossible to see anything. When I was a little girl growing up in the mountains, seeing "shooting stars" was a nightly event , especially in August. Home was an area with an inky black sky perfect for one of nature's most spectacular displays.
I envy those of you who were in a good area to observe this beautiful event. As usual, I wasted my time trying to see something over all the city lights of Houston. Poooh.
