This may effect players as well as affiliates so I thought I would post this here at Casinomeister.

Bear in mind this is the first report we have received of its kind, and it COULD be limited to persons OUTSIDE the US or just in Canada, but it certainly deserves further attention:

Cheers Prof.

That makes two scary things from Canada :D

Muppets 3 Canadians 1

Yeah I am not a happy camper after reading this one either. I have probably thousands of transactions that might raise government eye brows. :axeman:

Maybe while I am at CAPEuro in London I will check on the prices of flats in the Knightsbridge area :D

I think the original poster on this at CAP probably needs to come forward with a little more detail - it's difficult to work out what's really happening from the information he has made available so far, i.m.o. and there could be other and more personal possibilities.

If true, it is a startling intrusion into a private life even under anti-terrorist provisions, because according to the poster his ability to transact his personal business has been seriously interfered with....apparently without him being given a full explanation by the authorities.

And besides this, Neteller has put all of their eggs into one basket. If they had branched out into other areas besides gaming, they wouldn't be a target like they are at the moment. I - like a couple of posters on that thread - had applied for a merchant account so I could use it here at Casinomeister (contests, etc), and was turned down. That was some stupid shit.

I would like to see more information about this - especially from the original poster. Or from any Casinomeister Canadians. This is alarming to say the least.

Here are some Internet references that allude to that fact that NETeller does have some "non-gambling" business (search for the key phrase "non-gambling", in each of these articles:

I also spoke with a woman in NETeller this morning, and asked her if she was aware of NETeller being in any market other than gambling, and after some coaxing, she admitted "NO". She did say though that NETeller offers the ability to transfer funds from one NETeller user to another.

I'll make this short.....
I did say something like this would happen.
And it's going to get much, much worse.

Here's some food for thought:

Can anyone here honestly prove beyond a shadow of doubt, that everything you own, wasn't paid for with gambling related funds????

Think about it.

Could they do this?
You better believe they can.

Non Gambling sites that accept Neteller

I've actually seen a couple of sites that accept Neteller as payment and they are not gambling related.

It's taken me a while to locate this but take a look here:

Now these guys don't have any casinos/poker room or sportsbooks. Here is a list of merchants:

let us know when AmCan sends you the $10, trezz

What's that supposed to mean TB?

I'll take it as one of your usual snide, presumptuous, back handed digs

One of your Countrymen bailed you up about your off handed uncalled for retorts a month or two ago, I suggest you go back and read his comments, it obviously didn't sink in!

I wouldn't, for the simple reason that quite a lot of what I own has been bought from my gambling winnings.

Nothing else yet from that poster. But another Canadian Member did contact me and indicate they were facing unspecified legal difficulties and asked that I archive their most recent posts.

I am hopeful that this is an isolated incident.

Thanks for the update, Professor - it's not much to go on at present, but I guess it is understandable that some folks in the industry are more than a little jumpy.
