So 3-5 minutes into Starstruck Tournament and someone has $18K already. How is that even possible?

max bet combined with good luck - a huge hit can occur on the first spin as likely as on the 101st
So 3-5 minutes into Starstruck Tournament and someone has $18K already. How is that even possible?
5 wilds pays much more than that at max bet.

I wasn't sure what was not right. I've just never seen that kind of a win. I almost thought a glitch. And yeah, at that point why even bother continuing to play. Nobody's fault, just no fun.

don't write off a huge hit as a guaranteed win.
Many of us have played the turnies, hit the highest possible win and sat back on our laurels to be beaten on the home-stretch..just because someone hits huge doesnt mean someone else cant..and they invariably do
Often you'll find that there are tournament rules that prevent someone who has a big, quick win from just "sitting back". There's often a minimum number of spins or something. I can't remember the rules at 3Dice, but a lot of online casinos have this kind of term for their slots tourneys.

unless, its changed, you can hit big early and veg - what I think you cant do, is not spin, and remain at starting balance and expect to place.

It depends on the tournament. Some tournaments are highest balance so you need to stop when you're ahead enough that you think nobody will catch up. Some are highest peak balance so it doesn't matter if you lose all your money, your peak stays the same.
I had 5 wilds in tournament mode in Star Struck a couple of years ago at max bet. I think it pays over 50k.
18k is pretty tough. It's unlikely but it's doable.
