Today i got a mail stating - Get 23 free spins (worth $1) for deposit of $20

now i dont usually bother there because of their fees and whatnot but thought id give it a shot and guess what ...

it turns they are actually selling 23 free spins at $1 each @Rainbow riches slot, for $20

so you dont actually get your $20. its not even a bonus, what you get is 23 spins at $1 each, for deposit of $21. because you know, most people deposit $20 to play 20 spins and get done with it.

ive been playing online slots forever, and ive seen lots of nasty things casino have come up but this one takes the cake.

TLDR:

their bonus is not actually a bonus, you just get to play 23 "free" spins at $1 each, for deposit of $21. You DO NOT get your deposit, lol.

asked for a refund naturally, lets see how it goes. i dont really care about my $20 but no way on earth im gonna let them get out with crap like this.

Be careful with Bonuses!
It is  crucial  that you understand and agree to the terms and conditions of any bonus that you accept. Most of the complaints that come through our arbitration service are bonus related; it would be safe to say that there are tens of thousands of players who have never complained because they realized after the fact that they did not understand or had never read the terms. Nothing in a casino is free – so whenever you see “free” being used, there are stipulations. It is important for you to understand that.

Please check out our Bonus Section that lists the offers given by our Accredited Casinos. No deposit bonuses, welcome bonuses (AKA sign up bonuses [SUBs]), exclusive bonuses, reload bonuses, free spin bonuses...all this and more!
yes ive literaly just seen that email and couldnt quite work out what they were offering good job you didnt max out that offer by depositing the full 60:eek:

:eek::eek:

Imagine getting $7 or something when the spins are up. This offer really does take the proverbial biscuit.

What new and inventive BS will casinos conjure up next?

i actually got $6 out of it but id be equally pissed off if it was $44.

in my 10 odd years of playing online slots, i have never made a refund and especially i dont think id do so for something like $20 but i really dont want them to have it their way :/ not sure if skrill processes reversals or not, and how to do it but i really feel like i was totally scammed right now :p

i know casinos can get with most of the stuff they pull on us, but this is getting too ridiculous just to walk away really.

I thought that the email was pretty clear and it went straight into the bin:

yeah but my point being is they have came up with a totally new way to make a borderline scam look ok because they put a new line into their promo T&C. Its not how it works in other 2488 casinos out there, its not how people expect it to work hence they are pretty much relying on unsuspecting people (like me?) and are trying to make it look ok because they said so in their terms.

its not ok and it really is only made to preach on people who dont read fine print and while i usually (like always) do read small letters, no way on earth it would ever occur to me how a site is actually triyng to sell me 23 free spins for $21.

didnt get refund, decided to play a few spins on medusa at $1,25 (with my $6 starting roll because thats in the spirit of this promo, $1 spins) and got 2 decent hits up to $80 lol. now going to cashout and close my accounts on slotsmagic and their sister sites because i dont really appreciate them trying to scam their players.

just made this topic so people who dont know what to expect from this promo know what is it actually about, because honestly i dont think anyone expects some casino site to actually sell free spins?

the worst thing about is, they know people dont really deposit $20 just to play 20 spins so they are well aware how no sane person would deposit $20 and play $1 spins and theres really no other way to explain it than its skillonnet sites trying to preach on unsuspecting players.

There is a similar thread which was opened recently calling them out on some sham offer of theirs which incredibly the rep tried to defend. This sort of behaviour makes me view the whole group in a bad light and I'm quite happy I closed all my accounts with them some time ago.

The promo in question (taken from website, wording in emails about it may vary)

Yeah thanks but no thanks.

First allow me to clear up some mistakes

Below I have posted the actual offer that was sent out. As you can see
it’s for Spins and not ''Free Spins'' as the OP said.

The offer is really clear, its tells you the slot you get, the amount of each spin, the cost of each package and the discount you get

And the first term in the T&c’s for the promo is also very clear , it says .....After you purchase a spins package, the relevant amount will be deducted from your balance

so we are sorry if you feel this way but of course our intention was never to scam anyone. On the contrary, the idea behind the promo is to give players the opportunity and thrill of playing some high value Spins.

We understand some players do not and will not like this and prefer regular bonuses (which we continue to give) but this was just an extra promotion offer...

And given that the Spins are without any wagering and there is no cap on winnings we believe this is a really great offer and we will be running it a lot more

So there's no wagering ? Once you have completed the 23 spins you are able to cashout ? Seems like a good deal and +ev for the player since wagering £23 even at 95% rtp you would expect a return of £21.85 which is higher than your £20 deposit

I understand the wording and expectation that they are free spins like normal would be pretty confusing to most tho . If there was wagering attached it would be a massive scam . As it is though it seems like a reasonable enough deal . I like the idea tbh

9 out of 10 bonuses are a scam.. If you seen the list of bonuses I've had this year :eek2: Jeez, I've wagered about four of them (And I've had a lot of bonuses this year)

I think I'll try 2017 without them !! 2016 has been a bad year for bonuses

And the free spins on Rainbow Riches are OK if they're wager free.. But when I play that game on £0.20p a spin, I swear it only coughs up 5-10ps until I close the game  Ever since WMS games started loading as Scientific Games, they've been pretty bad (Except Raging Rhino)

Not a offer I'd be interested in taking, maybe if it had a wider choice of slots or a multi slot package perhaps if no wagering

Yes this is the case, the Spins bought in this promotion have no wagering and there is no cap on winnings
The mailer that went out used some default terms we have on all mailers ( which were wrong in this case ,so apologies) but it was correctly stated in the Daily Picks section of the Casino Client

The OP would have recognized there was no wagering required when he was able to withdraw his winnings from the Spins he bought

Happy Holidays and wishing you all a winning New Year
Krystal

yes , this needs to be clarified  the rep said no wagering so I hope that is the case

it still doesnt make it any less scummy because nobody actually expects you to straight out SELL spins for cash. As far as i know you and your sister sites are only casinos that do this so its not a norm and not really expected. I know its all in your T&C but it doesnt make it any less horrible promo that banks on people who dont read T&C or read it too quickly, as it was in my case.

you know people dont deposit $20 to play 20 spins at $1 each, and especially they dont do so to play 20 spins at a slot of your choice. Theres a reason your mails go to my spam folder because of stuff like this, and dont get me started on your other promos... and yes, i do think its a very, very scammy offer and one i honestly didnt see coming, even if we consider that your other offers look like this

Bonus And Free Spins
Get a 10% Bonus
+ 5 10 FREE SPINS
Deposit up to €/£/$35

Now keep in mind theres 5% deposit fees for skrill deposits, so if you deposit $21 you get $22 BUT with a huge caveat
Maximum bet permitted with a bonus active is €/£/$5 or 10% of the bonus amount (the lower amount applies).

seriously, if anyone tries to convince me their bonuses arent actually made just to prey on unsuspecting players ... i even tried talking to their CS about this bonus and its defeinitely 20 cents max bet if you deposit $20

So, basically, if you get this one with $20 deposit any games with more than 20 lines are not actually playable. And mind you, that was their black fridays promo ^_^

yeah im with you on this one, its actually a really great deal and 95% rtp with 23 spins is what happens most of the time. In fact some would argue how after such a huge amount of spins, your RTP should be closer to factory norm of 96,10%.

seriously? talking about expected return of 95% after 23 spins? :D:notworthy

Do you have a better way to evaluate what the deal is worth ?

It doesn't matter how many spins are involved . RTP is the RTP and if that figure is correct then that is what governs your expected return from playing a slot . The only difference number of spins makes is the relative variance in results
