Simple explanation video on RTP

Video does touch on Volatility but there's a video of its own in more depth and here it is.

Ok, these videos may not be for everyone but it's a great introduction for beginners. When I first started to play years ago I found it hard to understand and a bit overwhelming trying to understand randomness, Volatility etc I think these videos do a great job in making it more simple to understand or at least it gives you a basic idea how things work.

If you offer a low RTP version of your slot that looks the same as the original higher paying one that players are used to play that's deception in my book. Sure it's written in the help file but everyone knows that 99%+ of slot players won't read it.

What makes it even more evil is casinos were allowed to switch from one high paying version to a lower one that looks exactly the same with the complicity of slot providers.

That's no different than some crook company hiding something really bad in an "updated" 12-page-long privacy policy that no one will ever read. This kind of trickery doesn't hold any weight in a court of law BTW...just throwing that out there.

Actually, it does - ignorance is not a form of defence. Feel free to disagree, but in a case of (Rennison vs Knowler [1947] 1 A11 E.R. 302) an honest but groundless belief is not a form of defence. In other words, it is entirely upon you to check information if that information is freely available. This was also backed up in another case in 2009 by the Divisional Court.

You can't hide things in the terms and conditions if those things are illegal or misleading anyway, but if clauses are all legal and above board, then the argument of "people don't read it" doesn't hold any water.

That said, i think RTP should be displayed on the loading screen of every game in a reasonably large font.

Yes nothing illegal being done though the morality i agree with.

Struggling to think of any other product in the world where two different products, seemingly identical, are sold for the same price and look exactly the same.

I totally get the point being made that it 'seems' a bit fraudulent or maybe at best, a bit of a con or pulling the wool over peoples eyes, whatever way you want to describe it, regardless of where the law sits.

You struggle? Shrinkflation has been happening to most food and retail products for years. They dont say "hey, here us a new smaller Mars bar" do they. And yes, some products are different sizes, ingredients, etc in different countries. When I used to smoke, Marlboro Gold in the UK were completely different to say Marlboro Gold in Mexico.

I think you have a very narrow view of the world if you honestly think no other product does anything similar.

Yes but this is is different.

Nowhere in the UK or any other country can you buy two different types of Mars Bar for the same price as far as i know. Yes products vary in different countries but the manufacturers do their best to avoid crossover or conflict of interest.

Mars Bars are the same in each country or jurisdiction they are sold in. The manufacturers make sure of this. Tobacco is the same in each country you buy in.

When the package size or amount is reduced that is clear. This is like buying two Mars Bars but one doesnt have caramel in. There is no way of telling unless you read the ingredients as the packaging is the same. The price is the same. You would think all Mars Bars are the same but one is a cheaper product and the only way to tell is to read the ingredients.

Nothing like shrinkflation.

I very much doubt this is 100% accurate, but i think we both agree that the RTP should clearly be displayed in a prominent position on the loading screen so players can see when it changes

Your right, its not 100% accurate because wholesalers still buy from outside jurisdictions and sell into the main channels. I know as i used to work for one and buy anything from Chupa Chups in Brazil to Lindt from Switzerland and sell into stores in the UK.

But, if the company gets caught you will be blacklisted from buying through those channels and it is not the way Nestle, GSK etc work or want their products to be sold. Neither is it the way the industry is geared to work.

They simply do not sell two different products in the same packaging for the same price. It goes against trading standards and is not a way they want to be portrayed.

Differing RTP's for the same product is allowed. Same packaging, different product.

When i started gambling i didnt have a clue about RTP and thousands of sign ups each day dont know that they Book Of Dead is different on different sites. They see Book of Dead and quite rightfully assume its the same Book Of Dead as the last one.

Why i said, at best, its pulling the wool over peoples eyes.

Sorry of that offends anyone. Im not saying its any individuals fault. We all work withing the parameters the industry sets. Its the industry set up that allows this to happen.
