silcnlayc posted in my thread about the new Intertops Classic Casino which got derailed.

I have started a this thread on a MUCH more important topic.
Wow, lucky you! Five withdrawals. I haven't had that many pending withdrawals since the plug was pulled in the USA and I'm sure I ended up reversing at least one or two before ever getting paid.
This thread really ended up being about money management. We have seen plenty of similar threads--but more related to betting patterns in comparison to initial deposit or overall bankroll.
So, I have decided to start a new thread to welcome any and all constructive advice to persons who are having a hard time getting their wins out of “pending” and into the bank.
While it is obviously much more of a challenge as an American to do as you suggest, it is a very good suggestion. Of course you must be both lucky and disciplined in your play consistently to have pending withdrawals at multiple casinos which is in both cases is much easier said than done on both counts for many people.
To get where you are--I would need a sustained run of decent luck and the ability to resist EVER reversing any withdrawal for any reason. Therein lies the challenge. Can I do it? I certainly have done it plenty over the years. Consistency is the key and I am know that based past repeated behavior that I may be incapable of avoiding the temptation on a consistent basis. This is VERY difficult for me to accept or I would have already self excluded myself from all online casinos and the reality is I would be much better off if I had done so.
Self control in online gaming--for me and IMO many many other people--requires a level of self discipline and emotional control far greater than gambling in a B & M. Of course I have gone on tilt in Vegas and other casinos multiple times over the years but have always found it far easier to maintain control in a "real" casino than online. I can cash out and go enjoy a wonderful complimentary dinner, do some shopping, go to the bar and have a cocktail, or see a show. Often when I go to Las Vegas, I spend a great deal of time simply relaxing in my room or at the pool.
More importantly, I truly enjoy it and frequently come home a WINNER! What an awesome feeling--to spend several days in a beautiful complimentary room--often a suite and in many cases at the finest hotels in the city. My personal favorite is Wynn. Yes, this requires quite a bankroll and heavy action but I am a skilled player and in most cases I am able to give them enough action to qualify for that comp.
But I have become so wrapped up in playing online and lost any money I may have had for that Vegas trip or even to Louisiana 3 hours away in the past few years, I haven't even been to Las Vegas.
Still, playing online has a certain attraction and addiction unique unto itself. I am not one to throw in the towel and declare myself "powerless" over my addiction easily. I have never once in my life been powerless over any addiction to any vice in spite of periods of over indulgence in various vices.
Why shouldn't I be able to take charge and have power over this one as well? And for this reason, I have yet to swear it off.
When you can wake up in the middle of the night unable to go back to sleep and find yourself bored, knowing you have a $1500 withdrawal at XYZ Casino. The temptation to reverse just $150 of it can be extremely hard to resist. Of course so often that $150 goes at lightning speed and it becomes $150 more and before you know it--there is nothing left.
Obviously some people can handle it and others cannot. I honestly believe after my experience of the past 1.5 years that in all likelihood I fall into category B. But I will undoubtedly try a bit longer before throwing in the towel.
