Probably an unfamiliar slot to most of you, so I'll explain this one.

I'm playing the game on maximum 'devil setting' (i.e. highest variance), which means the devil wilds only turn up on 3-4-5 with no angel wilds on 1-2-3, which makes wins rarer but they should be bigger.

Here I'm in the 5 free spins bonus round (which is pretty rare), I've got a couple of devil wilds on the reels already (pretty rare), with decent 5OAK potential (pretty rare, the bells in this case), and I've picked the 'extra wilds' devil card (which rarely turns up when you want it to), and the 'extra wilds' devil card has turned its maximum of five spaces wild on top of the two I already had.

Also note that the devil wilds are 2x multipliers, so you can see how easy it would have been for them to start making juicy 5OAKs with those bells, but instead they decided to 'do a Sarah' and all clump on the wrong side of the board.

But had last reel been down one, it was $1000
Had WILD been a scatter (or counted as one), it was $1000
Had wild have BEEN a scatter it was $1500

And logic says , wild= scatter so shoiuld be $2k+ !

I very rarely play Video Poker because it's really boring, but I can tolerate multi-hand poker as that makes it a bit more exciting.

Here I'm playing five-hand poker in tens or better form, at 20p per hand. (So £1 per game.) A Royal Flush pays £160 per hand.

On this deal I got four out of the five cards for a Royal Flush on the initial deal, which meant I had five chances to get the Queen I was missing on the remaining deals.

As you can see, I got Queens on two of the five hands, but it was wrong damn Queen (I just got straights on those two hands which pay very little, the Queen of Diamonds instead of the Queen of Spades would have made a £160 pay per hand!)

On this deal I got four out of the five cards for a Royal Flush on the initial deal, which meant I had five chances to get the Queen I was missing on the remaining deals.

Chances to hit your 5th card was 1 in 47 (per hand), so roughly 10% to get it once in 5 hands.

Oh yes I realise it was by no means a dead cert, what elevated it to 'screenshots that suck' status is that I did actually get Queens on two of the hands, but of the wrong suit!

The biggest problem I have with Video Pokers is I have no real idea how to work out the variance of them, I do know that as you go into the bonus and joker pokers and suchlike the variance increases, and on some of them the RTP goes down as well (the RTP of 10s/Js or better being about 99.5% I believe with perfect strategy, and 3Dice does auto-hold) - so I always just end up playing Tens/Jacks or Better and hoping for a Royal Flush, which I've never had

Since the odds are always the same, the RTP on Video Poker is strictly linked to the paytable, just like Keno. The variance is only affected by the way the money is distributed on the pay table and most pro players will only look at the RTP and disregard the game/variance.

If you go in a land based casino, you'll often notice that most video poker players gather around the same bunch of machines; that's because they know that these are the machines with the highest RTP (they know just by looking at the pay table). If you want to play VP, sit next to them.

How interesting, just as a first pass at this, it appears that 32Red are running their Deuces Wild VP at 96.77%, and 3Dice are running their Dueces Wild VP at a substantially better 98.91%.

That's a big difference that will really make itself felt over many hundreds and thousands of hands.

I dont have screen shot but i was playing at nordicbet today and the WMS slot have been terrible since they came out at nordic, but today i had the worst session at the wizard of oz, i had few hundred spins on it and total 3 bonuses, where two of them was 2X and the other 5X, 2 deposits later i got 25 freespins with 4 scatter at amazon queen and it paid 10X. those wins are really pathetic, will consider quit WMS and back to MG.

But the 'stats' never change, the RTP of video poker is determined entirely by the paytable, it'll be exactly the same in the year 3013!

On Microgaming, I have found 2 weird things regarding free spins rounds. If you get 4 scatters trigger, they are nearly always crap. Secondly, you get entry with 3 scatters on the LAST 3 REELS and again they are nearly always crap.

Why this is so I do not know. Check it out yourselves.
