Hi all,

As you already know I am very active helping this great charity since a couple of years.
If we think about homeless people many people firstly think of alcohol and drug abusers who can't take care for themselves due to their addictions.
But believe me, it goes much further than that.
We are talking about people that lost their homes due to the fact that they could not afford the rent or mortgage anymore.
Could be because they got sick and weren't able to work for a longer time anymore or it could be due to a divorce where a mum was left alone with kids.
And in Ireland there is very little help for people who get into a situation like this, that is the harsh truth.
Everyone can get homeless, yes even you or me if the circumstances are against you.

Save our Homeless is so much more than just gathering food.
They help the homeless with clothes, shelter, medical help, getting on track to find a council house that they can afford etc etc.
Our local community is awesome and many local shops and companies help this charity as well.
Churches come in and bring boxes full of goodies for the less fortunate, great to see.

I know it is a very local charity but at least I can see from up close that genuine help is offered to anyone that needs it.
So I can understand if it not appeals to everyone.

Every year I do a big Christmas shop at ALDI and / or Tesco and try to buy as much food and some toys for the kids that won't be getting any presents from Santa.

As Save our Homeless does not accept any cash donations I can only seek help donating food, clothes and toys bought by you or myself.

There would be 2 options to achieve this:

1. I can PM the TESCO link and the address where all the goods can be delivered, this is the store where Save our Homeless has their storage room for donations. You could do some shopping online and TESCO Dundalk will deliver the goods.

2. A Cash donation to me (Skrill or Neteller only) which will be added to my €100.00 that I spend every year at Christmas time on shopping and some kids toys.

Any help would be so much appreciated.

I want to do the shopping this Friday 20/12 and deliver all the goodies the same day.
Will be more than happy to make some pictures, but she (Sonia - Shop owner and founder of the charity) always does that anyway when people come donate goods. ^^

I hope you all are not annoyed at me for posting this but I just want to help people where I can, it is just in my nature.
Thanks for reading and I wish you all already a merry Christmas and an awesome 2020.

Lets give some less fortunate a very merry Christmas too!!

I will do it lotusch. I have neither skrill or neteller so happy to buy food from Tesco to have it delivered, any chance you can give me an idea of what to buy?

Not sure if it helps any but I bought 10 reusable emergency sleeping thermal bags, like little tents, which are currently on a deal for £4 each opposed to the usual £31 - which I have given to our local homeless charity. It may be something that could be used for your charity too and I can send a link if need be :)

You are a star...
Most foods needed are the basics such as tinned vegetables, cereals, pasta and rice, toiletries such as toothpaste, soap, shampoo, bottles of water etc etc.

Thanks for doing that!

I will PM you the details and stuff...

Not sure if you can add a message to the delivery but feel free to check that out..

Thanks!!!!

Mark.
