According to the Tass News Agency, the Russian Federation should be looking at blocking 'illegal' online casinos and access to crypto currencies which allows Russian players to fund their accounts with. A view expressed by Yevgeny Masharov, a member of the commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation for public examination of bills and other regulations.

Speaking to Tass, Masharov stated:

Gamification has become a trend, while the simplicity and convenience of the game attract new users. The legal bookmaking market is losing to illegal ones, since the latter do not have requirements for identification and age verification. I am confident that today's discussion will help fine-tune the regulatory regime and the proposals developed will help stop the channels for attracting children to these schemes
