Hi

if i play at a casino group with random rtg jackpots
do they take a percentage of my losing spin towards that jackpot with out it altering the games rtp if the jackpot goes off ?

or does the statement from live chat after me complaining about my 10th losing session in a row open a can of worms?

" we had a jackpot go off recently so the % are lower "

As far as I am aware, a percentage of your wager goes to the Random Jackpot. The Game RTP is affected by the random jackpot and will be lower because of this.

In a B&M environment, the progressive increment percenatge is typically 0.5%. This means that if the RTP is 98% for the stand alone game, the Game with the progressive will be 97.5%.

thanks nate , but what i mean is . should a game or sites rtp be lowered because they paid out a jackpot or isnt that already paid for ?

Yes, permanently lower - not lower because someone just won a jackpot, which is what the OP was told.

According to everything we've been told or gleaned over the last several years, that statement is nonsense. :eek2:
A jackpot being won should have no effect whatsoever on the RTP of the game.

{Edit} Yes, the Jackpot should be a separate "pool" of money collected from every player's spins. i.e. it is already "paid for" by the players.

Not at all... the increment percentage stays the same and so does the game RTP.

KasinoKing is quite correct in his statement. You probably spoke to a support agent who wasn't very clued up.

i felt like asking has someone won a jackpot there every night ive played for the last 12 months lol

In the case of WMS online, the Jackpot Party progressive accounts for 2.99% and the base games are around 92% making a total of around 95% in general. Not sure how that translates to land-based but the progressive contribution is probably similar because of the nature of the JP game. Although I would assume the base game in land-based has a lower RTP.

I know that isn't relevant to RTG but it may provide a clue. Or not LOL.

got an email today from them explaining that the rep made a mistake and that the game is not affected by someone winning the jackpot , so they must have been new or misinformed , tho when your a player and had over half a year of losing sessions its amazing what your brain thinks lol

For centain type of slots games, which jackpots are set in a range to go off.
For example between 2000 to 2200 (Australia TAB has this kind of JP), the JP will be awarded, the higher the JP is the better RTP %.

Because RJs in RTG slots are not set to a range, RTP % is therefore not affected by RJ.
