RTG Casino's

no matter what I do every time I reboot
my pc all RTG casino's vanish an only RTG

any 1 have any idea as to why??

wasn't sure where to post so hope here is ok ??

Are the icons just disappearing or is the actual install of the casino disappearing?
To check if the program but not the icon is there, do a "search" for fill in the name of the casino name.exe

Having any other issues with any other program icons disappearing?

Are you saving the file then running the install or clicking run when the install pops up?

That use to happen with me all the time when I played at ClubWorld, the next you install it, try saving it instead of running it and see if that helps

I save then hit run then install

when I click on the c drive
there is always a full folder
so I guess the icons go missing

but when I go to start
all programs
then like club world
it will say empty


so I am stumped

Did you do a search on your hard drive as I suggested in the above post?
I'm not referring to just looking at your C drive files.
Go to start.......then hit search......then type in the name of the clubworld.exe as an example.
Also what OS are you using? XP or Vista?

I just went to search an there is no
clubworld or bodog files

but when I go to my computer
an click on c drive clubworld is in there 42.1 MB
and vegas casino online is in there to
program files

strange

least to me lol

Clean the registry.

My experience is that most RTG software problems are rooted in the registry.

Download the file hijackthis:

You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.

If uncertain which entries to delete, PM the log to me and I will help.

Bryand......please don't take what I say as personal attack, because I don't know you nor your qualifications.
I just wanted to say to Jas2587 that messing with your registry is a dangerous thing unless you know what you are doing. I wouldn't even attempt it myself.
Also.....isn't HijackThis used to scan for issues that come up because of spyware, viruses , or Trojans?
It's possible that Jas2587 just has something in her settings wrong or maybe her icons are corrupted. She hasn't mentioned any other strange behavior.
I just think we should be cautious about telling someone to muck with the registry...I wouldn't want to muck up someone's computer.

I've got to go to work now so I'll check in on the thread later this evening, but I do know of a website that is run by a MS MVP who has a script on it to fix icon issues, but I dont' have time to find it now.

After checking I'm not sure that info would help.
Let's try something basic first.

Right click on your desktop. Mouse over arrange icons by. (see my screen shot)

Tell us what you see........if you can post a screen shot that would be even better.

Try this.......and you are welcome although I haven't done anything....yet.

Go to your Display Properties... (R-Click on DT select properties or Start>Control Panel>Appearance and Themes>Display)

Click on the Desktop Tab

Click on the 'Customize Desktop...' button

Check or Uncheck the Desktop Items you wish to be displayed

Apply changes

the only things I have on my desktop are

recycle bin
folder for casino's
folder for virus stuff an hardware
folder for ummm pogo yeah pogo lol

hope I went to the right place

Then click on all the drives listed there...one at a time

look in each drive under "Program Files"

if you don't see Clubworld or whatever RTG you're looking for in one of those then it probably ain't there...

Let's try something else......go to start, programs, find the program that you want icons for on your desktop.

Click on it and drag it over to your desktop. Repeat for each one you want as icons on your desktop.

After you have finished with this, I suggest you right click on your desktop like in the screen shot before and check lock items on desktop.
Let me know if this works for you.

That's a bad thing? I could live with a virus like that...probably save a lot of money as well!

But seriously, I think everyone forgot the obvious -

Go to your control panel, and open up "add/remove programs". Check to see if the casinos are still installed (I have a feeling they are).

If that's the case then all it is is an icon issue...

It would have been good to know about the trojan before all this. If you only did a restore, you most likely are not rid of it.
If you completely reinstalled your os, then I dunno. All I can say is uninstal & reinstall the casinos and see if that helps.

Ok,,,open that folder up and click on the icon or list item that says: Install.exe
also you can click on one like this and it will restore your icon: Club World Casinos.ico

Do like BB said and lock the desktop icons first before you reboot...

Note to self: Duplicate registry values confuse my computer and cause it to act in strange ways. Uninstalling RTG software, either manually or by "add/remove programs", does not remove the registry value in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. They are filed in a folder labeled RealTime Gaming in case I want to manually delete some or all of them. Or, if I want to clean my pc with a reputable, automated registry cleaner, I would delete all entries containing RTG's executable file "casino.exe". Any RTG casino that I use after registry cleaning will create a new registry entry without missing a beat.

Cindy, I agree with an earlier post concerning the risk of editing the registry without sufficient knowledge of the process and results. Perhaps you have a trusted friend that works on computers that could help you with this?

i prited out their instructions after an did what they said

but it really isnt urgent just delays the deposit going into
the casino as i re download it each time lol
