Question Roulette Favourite Bets - How should it work?

Hi.

Interested in opinions on how a "favourite bets" feature should work on an online roulette game. Envisaged scenario is as follows:

- Place usual bets across table (let's assume you have a standard set of birthdays etc.)
- Hit "Favourite Bets" button and select a slot to save the layout
- Selected slot now remembers your bet layout and displays the total cost of that bet for future use (should there be an option to name the bet??)

Shout if any queries with behaviour above, but main question concerns what happens with multiple favourite bet slots being used:

If you pick saved bet #1 and say $10 worth of chips appear on the table, what should happen if you then pick saved bet #2 with a value of $5? Does Bet #2 replace Bet #1 for a new total bet of $5, or does it get placed in addition to Bet #1 for a total bet of $15?

I have an opinion on this naturally but having a bit of debate and interested in some other experienced player views.

Cheers,

Jamie

Saved Bets sounds good

Should be able to name them.. Ect Bdays, Fav numbers, lucky picks

If 2 faves are selected, should be the last one clicked. Ex… Should only be able to pick one fav bet per spin… Buy make it that you can throw in additional numbers on the same bet,

I agree with the chance to name the bet. Would be good to have a chance to multiply bet... we don't always have the same bankroll. My "Birthday" pick of 4 numbers, at times I might bet $1 on each, at other times $2 or $3 for example.

Total bet and numbers selected should be clearly shown and a spin button should have to be pushed.

I think one Fav per bet is best, but if you do want to let players pick more than one, it should have a feature that asks "Replace or Add Additional bet" or some such.

Indeed something that has crossed my mind more then once too, also some more advanced features like when you would for example's sake right click the number you would like to surround there would appear options like ""build Carrés, build Chevals, build Carrés and Chevals"" and then like with autoplay the number of chips you would like to build them with.
Either as secondary pop up after the right-click selection or in a separate input box in the same screen.
It of course doesn't have to be on a right click, the option you suggested would be fine to, but i would hope there would be advanced options when a software provider decides this is doable and worthwhile.

I would also like to see things like "Five number bet" and an option to call a neighbour bet, with the normal 4 numbers as standard but also possible to call less or more.

It would definitely enhance the players experience in most standard roulette games.
I guess these things are possible in live Casino sections, but i don't play those myself, if i want interaction with a croupier i'll go to a B&M :)

Anyway, i like the idea: are you perhaps programming such a feature or in any way occupied with the creation of such a system?

Hi.

Thanks for the feedback so far. My original feeling was that multiple saved bets should not "stack" and the behaviour would effectively be "Clear" -> Place Bet #2 so good to see the general consensus is the same way.

The naming of saved bets idea only came to me as I was writing the post, and I think it would make sense for a traditional online casino game. However I am actually working on a mobile/tablet product which makes it a bit more problematic as the keyboard tends to get in the way! I think I'll leave it out for the 1st version of this feature and look to add later if players think it is needed. My feeling is that most people will only save a couple of layouts and so should remember them anyway. Or if not it is easy to tap the bet to see the layout and remind themselves.

I like the idea of being able to multiply the saved bet, and that should be doable by allowing multiple presses on the relevant saved bet slot.

If I can work out how to post a screenshot on here (!) I should be able to show you where we are with this so far.

Microgaming already incorporate all the features being discussed in this thread - except the name-calling

I think (not played it for a long while) that if you select 2 saved patterns that they overlay each other. Personally I think this is how it SHOULD work and is what I would want as a player. Also if I clicked the same pattern twice I would want to place double my bet.

Ok I worked the screenshot out :)

The below shows current test version which is still a little buggy (as you can see by the chip appearing on top of the fave bets section).

@incrediblestuff mentioned neighbours betting so this screen shows how that will work also.

@KasinoKing has thrown in a vote for saved bets stacking on top of each other so still interested in that point as was the original contentious issue

Looking nice for a mobile game, wouldn't mind to give it a go, and i see it is a fun-play version, which i assume you would also enable in the final version?
Would be good since small devices + big or rusty fingers can easily miss-click, and you don't want players experiences to be ruined by an accidental one spin balance destroyer:)

So if players can try it out in fun mode, they would be more likely to feel confident using it in real.

Btw, the fact that you laid the betting field out in a way that makes it really easy to see the neighbours, is a + i.m.o.

Yep there is always fun play available for trying the games out. Thanks for the positive comments.
