I am officially retiring from online gaming. There comes a time and I am sure most of you will know what I am talking about when it really loses its fun, its not about winning anymore but the rush of it all. I am not a religious person but have been blessed in life with a phenomenal career and a great supporting cast of family and friends, gambling in my life has alienated the most important things to me and that is just wrong, saying that I bid you all adieu and wish everybody happiness and great health!!

Always good to see someone in control of their actions and for the right reasons.

Whilst your participation will be missed, I wish you all the best for the future.

Good going and more power to you. Please let me know if you want me to disable your account when you're ready.

Good on ya! Happy trails.

The pull is great, but if you've made your mind up.....forget them!

I did break down and play my managers bonus from Inet, $5, cashed out my allowed $50 and ran, thanks Inet. I have decided to now delete before opening all the emails. It really is amazing how fast common sense and clarity come back when you abstain, in a short time life seems to feel much better, have to make sure it stays this way.

emails and the likes

Its unbelieveable how many "begging" emails come when you dont deposit at a casino for a period of time. A guy i chat to a lot as part of my work closed an acct he had with a well known uk betting firm and stated in it he had severe financial hardships and this was the reason he was closing his acct and wanted it to remain closed forever. Now within 2-3 days of this he started not only recieving royal mail post telling him about loans . remortgages etc but telephone cals at home which he had never previously had..COINCIDENCE? Thiis type of thing really annoys me and even unsubscribing in most cases dosent work..what also annoys me is that you can self exclude for a maximum 6 months in most sites <not all> but if u have a gambling problem now it aint gonna go away in 6 months so why not just make it a permanent ban? anyhow my rant over ..good luck and all the best...

My problem wasnt that I was spending every waking moment gambling, it was however in the last little while changing my tendencies which was a warning sign for me, I have not been craving gambling, I have found that I am far more productive not playing, it does have a way of clouding your mind, anyway I would agree to the chronic gambler to permanently close all accounts. I did explore many avenues if it was going to be a problem for me, thankfully I haven't had to use any, if I did have to it is definitely an all or nothing proposition.

That was a good testimony there that you made back on Sep. 2nd and I commend you for it but here it is now eight days later and you have already backslid by playing a free bonus from INetbet and for whatever reason still hanging out in here at Casinomeister a lot...don't take this the wrong way but I have been around here for almost five years now and have seen posts and threads one after the other where a player comes on and starts a thread or makes a post saying that they are done and quitting gambling and bidding everyone a farewell and they still stick around here like a drunk hanging out in the parking lot of a liquor store...not that that analogy represents you me_and_ed, but I think you see what I mean...

I'm just saying that if you really want to quit the whole scene and really bid everyone a farewell then you have to sever ALL TIES with anything gambling related, even Casinomeister, even though we all love it here, it has to be let go of also, or your withdrawal will linger on and on until you are totally back in the entire mix again, we all, I'm sure hate to see you go but if you are really serious about quitting then there is no other way except "Cold Turkey"...whatever you decide is fine with me either way, would miss your posts around here but I know deep down that it would be the best thing for you, that is, if you really are serious about quitting...at any rate good luck to you !!

Well said Rob...the truth hurts sometimes!

Judge, jury and executioners. I happen to enjoy the forum, my quitting was not from a dire situation, it was a choice, as for free money, well its free, sue me.

Noone's executing you! I certainly am not here to put anyone under foot, because I'm definitely no better than you or anyone. What Rob spoke was truth, and I would expect him to do the same with me when the day comes that I say that I need to break loose of this addiction.

We love having you here Me and Ed!

I think he was thinking of your good............nothing else. Definitely nothing other than that! You do whatever you think is right.

I took your original post as genuine me_and _ed, especially where you said

"I am officially retiring from online gaming" and then you went on to state that

"gambling in my life has alienated the most important things to me and that is just wrong, saying that I bid you all adieu"

hence, reason for my hard but truthful post, but no reason to take it personal as my post would apply to anyone that was truly genuine in their hopes of quitting...not trying to call you out as you stated privately to me...just the cold hard facts of this addiction we all call "Gambling"...like I said in my post above

"whatever you decide is fine with me either way, would miss your posts around here but I know deep down that it would be the best thing for you, that is, if you really are serious about quitting...at any rate good luck to you !!"

Exactly, Well said Tim, and I too would also expect the same from my friends here as well if one day I decide to quit...sometimes the truth is hard to hear and even harder to take...believe me, I know...;)

My original thinking was that Rob hasn't got a mean bone in his body, but upon further examination of his 206 bones, I've come to the conclusion that the boner in his pants might be a bit more hostile than previously thought. Therefore, in light of his previous postings in this thread, I'm going to have to ask him why he has a boner in his pants....and what it is that he plans on doing with it.

As far as you hanging around here Me and Ed...wheather you gamble or not...you're definitely a plus!

Fair enough, one thing I am a realist, I understand where both of you are coming from, I am also not a hypocrite but by playing the free money I guess that makes me one, anyway I still like hanging around here, stories like Lauriejims POC where the hell am I gonna find massive dirt like that, I can be here and still be true to myself.

Hhhhhhhhhhhhhh.......he said boner.

Having in the past made a "I'm quiting" post I realised immediately Rob was definitely just being honest and with your best interests at heart.

I don't think you should mix being hypocritical with being weak willed though as hypocrisy suggests you are saying one thing while believing something different and you made your quit post as I did with honest conviction.

I manage my gambling habits much better now and stick to low rolling but I would never say they are totally under control, the itch is always there.
I gave up 30 Years of smoking with a snap of my fingers and have never looked back but gambling...

Anyway I hope you can stick around and leave the Casinos alone that would be the best of both Worlds.

I almost joined you earlier today. I deposited $500 at 32Red and was down to my final $20, but then I went on a pretty good winning spree. I wound up withdrawing 3K a couple of hours later. My retirement has now been postponed for a couple more weeks.
