Colorado and Washington state has legalized pot for recreational use, probably one of the bigger headlines from the recent U.S. elections IMO.

I personally see no problem with this, I'm all about freedom of choice along with online gambling.

A heads up though, don't fire up until the Secretary of State’s Office certifies this year’s election in both Colorado and Washington.

It could be an interesting experiment, and also an achilles heel for the politicians.

Once pot smoking has become established, the politicians can ask why is online gambling so much worse than smoking pot and cannot be an issue of personal choice. If they give the correct answer (we can tax the pot), they are going to make themselves look bad, if they lie, they will quickly be made to look like a bunch of hypocrites.

There has been a minority in the UK that wants pot to be legalised, and sold from licensed outlets. They say the damage done to health, society, and even the economy from binge drinking far outweighs the damage that legal pot would do, and that if they believed pot related damage was too much to tolerate, drinking also should be banned.

Even now, you do not get arrested for having small amounts of pot in public, it is confiscated and you get a "street caution" for possession.
