Proposals if the season was postponed Liverpool would be given the title, Leeds and West Brom to be promoted automatically into a 22 team Premier League with no sides being relegated this season and 5 teams would be relegated at the end of 2020/21.

EFL Cup would be dropped.

One suggestion for the Champions League is the teams in it this season could play next season leaving Leicester out of pocket.

Any lawyers reading this will be rubbing their greedy paws with glee.

The tables should all be voided and no awards given bar the League Cup already won by Man City.

Goals etc. should be credited to the players but NO points awarded for any of the matches.

All prize money in the leagues should be split evenly between the clubs in them.

No transfers should be permitted before the leagues recommence either - if a player retires or contract ends, he should be replaced only by an internal means i.e. a youth or junior player from within the club or have the contract renewed if he wants for 12 months.

Then it will all begin on an equal footing as near to today's situation as possible.

So no titles, promotions or relegations would happen.

You cannot award titles to teams that could still mathematically be caught, or promotions.

Having seen all the 'alternatives' the best solution by far is to conclude matches behind closed doors, as they've been doing in other countries.

In fact I've part-agreed with all proposals in some capacity, but indoor matches seem the best way. As it stands, fixtures are set to resume in early April, I don't think much would have changed in regards to Corona by then, seems the only sensible solution.

Worst ideas are by far to have 'Mini-Playoffs' to decide European and relegation places. Great for the spectators, awful solution for the teams after 3/4 of the season, to reduce it to a knockout tournament essentially.

Second worst proposal is to delay fixtures and the European Championship by a year, that would throw everything off-kilter in more ways than one, and no doubt create knock-on effects further down the line.

And finishing the season in its tracks and keeping current standings is awful. I did think they should declare Liverpool champions and be done with a shorter season, but with so much else to play for in the league I'm not sure the likes of Villa and Bournemouth'd be too chuffed, given how the latter would go down based on goal difference!

It’s a difficult decision to make let’s be honest. If they can continue the season at a later point it will mean the euros are postponed or completely cancelled.

You can’t decide teams fates without having matches tho surely?

I would guess the season will be finished during the summer instead of having a break and/or the euros.

I really can’t see it being resumed in just a couple of weeks time. If anything the situation will be worse by then.

Legally could all the teams in the English league agree to play the final 7 or 8 games as 45 mins only so they could get the games in a short time and get it finished?

It's only kicking a ball about, make them play in june, if the 1st eleven players are too tired give the reserve and youngsters a run out. Just get it finished, we've just had a massive horse meeting, the remaining football matches played behind closed doors should be doable in comparison. And they can wear face masks and hazmat suits if need be :p

I don't care if the managers and staff have to put their boots on, most are ex players...just get that title over to lfc asap

Apparently karen brady wants to void the season, looking at west hams current form and team you can't blame her for trying it on

Ditto brighton:

"If we were to freeze the league it would be incredibly unjust for Liverpool to not be awarded the title, because everybody in the game appreciates what a fantastic season they have had. Equally it would be unjust for teams to be relegated with nine or 10 games to go in the Premier League. [why if they've had a shite season so far, what's equally unjust about getting relegated for being crap]

"I think it's a possible option to leave the 20 teams in the league as it is but bring the top two in the Championship up."

As longest Manchester United is given a top 4 placement, I don't care if whole Liverpool [funny joke about Corona virus removed by admin].

Or this abomination.

Wow, what an evolution.....I remember working in Gamestation when the first Fifa Street came out, in '05.

I tried to hide my disdain and attempted to muffle my laughter when selling it, as the only ones buying it smelt of weed and had ASBOs

Wholeheartedly agree with this. I think it's more reasonable to postpone the Euro's until 2021 and cancel the Nations League 2020/21 than cancelling the current club teams seasons.

I bet the team that made Fifa street enjoy this movie.

As they should, its pretty great.

It will be ironic if west brom get promoted with slaven billic at the helm just as west ham go in the opposite direction

sullivan and gold shouldn't be let near any teams, they've got the opposite of the midas touch [sadim touch apparently? I must have that big time with the slots  ] when it comes to football ownership.

If my slots luck is anything to go by, I'd probably get Barcelona relegated

The players are paid ridiculous amounts.

It is not often they are asked to go that extra mile so IMO, playing 3-4 matches in a week to catch up and end this seasons campaign is the way to do things.
Absolutely, my thoughts on this aswell. 70 odd years ago the country played a major part in winning a world war. Now they can’t even work out how to complete a football season.

Talk about wrapped in cotton wool. I think when Villa won div 1 1981ish I think without checking, they only used 13 players all season. Now teams have 25 odd players to choose from plus all the youth teams.

I love football but when it comes to the mollycoddling they get nowadays DEAR ME.
The same as “it’s a short career”. What never ceases to amaze me is that the people stating this don’t seem to realise a top footballer earns in one year, way more than you or I will earn in our LIFETIME.

Got a feeling as this coronavirus is meant to affect things for months to come all leagues will end up being void for this season.

If players end up not training etc for months they will not be expected to just play right away as soon as go ahead is planned.

And if they want to have next seasons UEFA competitions , Normal league programme for upcoming season etc. then just no feasible way this seasons fixtures can be completed.

And even tho some teams look sure to win their leagues be relegated etc. it is just unfortunate circumstances that have never happened before . As for legal avenue i would be inclined to think voiding all competitions would have a more legitimate case than if they decided to just go on current league positions.
