I have this program that has showed up on my computer. I have tried to delete it and can't. Can someone please help me?

Another to try (as sometimes it takes more than one to take of the nasties) ...
Also, be aware that if you have one (known) undesirable on your computer, you could easily have more you haven't seen yet.

If you have you tried searching for webpages on deleting undeletable files and followed the instructions and failed, then get a live Linux CD, boot into Linux and delete the offending file.Here's what it says: C

Wow !! 
I just noticed that the Meister has this Nielsen advertisement in one of the pop up ads at the top of the screen to the left of the 32 Red Slotmeister contest results and according to the websites that I listed above this is some serious malware that you don't need on your puter !!

I ran the SpyBot program and that seemed to take care of the Nielson thing. However, guess what else it found. Everest Poker, CasinoRoyal, Entercasino and Cassava all had trojans on my computer.
They are gone now but makes me wonder how they got there.
Thanks guys for all the help. I try to be so careful about downloads and stuff and I clean my computer regularly. Guess these slipped through.

Annie, what kind of anti-virus software are you running on your sysyem...AVG, Norton etc..?????

I use AVG myself....free version. No complaints.
My firewall is zone alarm, free version, also use spybot and another good freebie for cleaning up stuff such as old temp files, and other files is CCleaner.
As someone else mentioned if you find one infection by spyware, there is often more than one and some of them are very difficult to get rid of. If you don't feel that your computer is clean yet, I'll direct you to some instructions by some security experts who will run you thru several steps and programs.......it's all free. Time consuming but if you don't feel confident that your puter is clean, just pm me and I'll direct you the correct place.

Yea, you can't go wrong with AVG, even if it can't be deleted...at least AVG can isolate it to Quarantine it...

Funny thing is, I wasn't having any trouble with my computer to begin with except that Nielson icon was showing up at the bottom of the toolbar.
I feel like I got everything but if something else shows up, BB, I will let you know and get the instructions.

Another cure is to find an old DOS disk, and boot with that. Less likely to work with newer computers as they no longer come with bootable floppy drives.
Next best thing is getting something like the Linux CD, although never tried that myself.
It is possible to make a file "undeletable" by causing the Windows OS to open it during the boot process, making it impossible to delete it, and open it for write access. Anti-malware programmes get around this by creating a special one time script that is inserted into the next bootup process that deletes the offending file before loading up the OS. Often, you will see legitimate programmes say "reboot to complete process" as they are having to alter things that cannot be altered while Windows is running.
One of the reasons Windows 98 is still going strong for me on this old PC is this ability to write such DOS scripts, and insert them into the boot process before Windows is loaded. One main use for this has been to really p**s off my Nephew, who thinks he is god's gift to PC's, and that I am an "old fart", and anything I do to restrict his access to my PC is a breeze to get around.
