I'm seeing this a lot lately...

Happens sometimes just trying to get from one section to other, and happens a lot when I try to post - which loses my post entirely when I hit Submit and I have to retype the whole darn thing again. (The problem doesn't seem to occur as frequently when I use Chrome, but it does still happen.) Also taking longer than usual to navigate from one section to the other when it doesn't crap out and go to the 'page can't be displayed'.

My internet connection seems fine - consistently 10 mbps and up, not seeing any IE 'waiting/busy' spin elsewhere.

Edited to add specifics:

Home computer: Windows7 w/IE11

Work computer: windows Vista w/IE8

I have had any problems out of the ordinary, once in a blue moon, type of thing.

It may not help your main problem but one thing I did learn may mitigate it a little. After typing a long post, more than 2 or 3 lines, before I click submit or preview I will highlight the whole text I typed with my mouse and then hit 'ctrl C' to copy it to my clipboard. That way if there is a problem I can just 'ctrl V' it back again.

Also, I'm a big fan of the Firefox browser, gives me very few troubles.

I get slow loading sometimes - I'm using XP & ie8 - and I'm pretty convinced now that it is ie which is causing the problem. Just a few minutes ago I switched from using ie8 to Firefox because the forum was just "hanging" after I clicked "New Posts". On Firefox everything was completely normal.

Regarding lost content - if you go back to where you were, you should see a "Restore Saved Content" tab at the bottom of the text box. This usually restores most of what I have lost (not always everything as I guess it only backs-up every minute or so...?).
For loooong posts - I do as bigjohn says - copy and paste it into Word before hitting "Submit".

I believe we all get that same problems from time to time that you have Mousey.

I know they are doing that back up thingy everyday lunchtime CET. At that time it can be horrible trying to do something.
Other times it can be slow too. They are probably working behind our backs without telling us
I usually just close it down and open up again and that can help, and I check other sites if they are working as normal. I always have several pages up so that's an easy way to see if it's CM or me that are having problems.
