Prince Philip Passed Away

Yes, sad news, he hadn't been well recently. Master of political incorrectness and patron of the Duke of Edinburgh scheme when I was at school. A hard-working and dignified bloke, RIP.

I met him once as he was Patron for the charity I worked at. Struck me how slim he was and not as tall as I thought.

I think he gave his bodyguards the run around as he insisted on driving himself, in a rather large Rang Ravoer IIRC (was 20 odd years ago).

RIP

RIP - Duke Of Edinburgh.

You was a fantastic man who had an amazing life and was also the queens soul mate. Very sad :(

Still don't see why this has to affect all the football and schedules...Particularly if it affects Scottish matches? Guess am not sad enough to watch a funeral of someone that has absolutely no impact on my life, whatsover.

I agree, it's not like if the football is on, you won't be able to watch the funeral, if you so wish.
Really don't like the way the BBC closed BB4 last night, taking off the womens football and replacing it was a black screen saying 'please go to BBC1', where it was just blanket coverage of this.

I get when a Royal dies there will be disruption to schedules, and programmes will be cancelled, but you don't have to cancel absolutely everything and attempt to force people to watch something they obviously don't want to.

Fecking disgrace. The press said that he died in the Queens arms. The pubs are not meant to be open yet. Again one rule for us and another rule for them!

I shouldn't really laugh at this but his gaffs were so in the face of things that it seems appropriate. Nice gag Col. I hope he's had a swift titter at this too. :)

This happened during the Diana funeral on that September Saturday back in 1997 - the loyalist clubs like Rangers and Hearts refused to play their matches on the day of funeral and they were moved to Sunday.

Loyalist more like fucking royalist! I can't remember much about that day except it was on about 3 channels and channel 4 was the only one without it on. Flooded tv stations with it.
