Slotplayer, kudos to you for your efforts in this conversation.

I gave up a long time ago.

They can deny all they want but to me, most of the comments here come across

as hating the U.S.A.

(And before you all start, I know, I know, you don't hate us, so you say)

I come and read where I left off every few days.

No matter what you say, you can't win. Actually, I am surprised you are still in it.

Again, kudos!

yes, I was shocked (at the hate U.S.A) when I first started reading posts but now I do it for fun.

and again weesie...where in my posts have i spewed any anti american rhetoric, or hating on the usa. please point it out to me. please do!...as a matter of fact i reported someone and they got banned for being anti amercian on another thread....

....and you keep bringing this up....and i find it interesting that you chose to respond to slotplayer who i am having a decent back and forth convo with ...so i'm taking this personally.

i have been respectful in my posts...unlike some of your citizens who have been condescending, patronizing as well as insulting to me personally. as a matter of fact we have all been respectful here with a few exceptions...maybe one or two.......maybe lockinlove and harry have taken it to a whole new level...but for you to come here right now and say we are hating on the usa...is completely out of line....and frankly growing tiresome.

just cuz i don't agree doesn't mean i am hating on the usa.

let it go already.

In this case it has nothing to do with the media outlet because it's not opinion.

My first video reference was the guy from the CIS Center for Immigration Studies that actually wrote the report. It doesn't get any closer than that. Does it? That's why I find it credible.

The guy in the second video referenced a Pew research poll. afaik they're pretty unbiased in their data collection. That's why I find it credible. If I recall all the news outlets sight Pew Research data. The media outlet had nothing to do with it.

Tucker is right of center. Actually America is a right of center country.

Here in America Rush and Hannity are considered hard right guys, strict constitutionalists, like Senator Ted Cruz but not radical.

The Neo-con groups like in Charlottsville are far right or radical or extreme right, that is to say they're even more right than Rush and Hannity are.

Then there is the left wing progressives. They've risen to some power in recent years. They want to re-make the country. They see America as an unjust, racist, flawed country.

We see case after case of it, Dr Sueses is a racist, the founding fathers racist. If they get some real power like in office, they'll redo everything to how they see it and not how the founding fathers intended. They don't like the constitution, like the guy in the Pew poll revealed. that's what makes them dangerous.

media outlets have everything to do with it....CNN can interpret those same studies to suit their purposes....just like your guys did...

if you own the news you can spin it any way you want....

and i get the hate for left wing progressives...not a fan either.

Just living in US doesn't make you knowledgeable about US. You actually need to have some kind of intellectual curiosity (which Trump doesn't have) to find facts.

I beg to differ.Personal experience and first person exposure would indeed qualify an individual as knowledgeable. Intellectual curiosity is not a requirement. Even if it were (which it is not) your implication that Trump &/or slotplayer are absent intellectual curiosity makes me feel like I could kick a dog.

You people

It's okay to say American Citizens.

just find things that fit in to your world view and think them as facts.
this is pretty accurate how you right-wing people tend to go. Ignore the facts and go with how people feel about things. Maybe you should think about your emotions and search for facts and not some select sites because you dislike "liberal" views so much.

No country has unlimited resources of course. But US isn't really suffering the way you people think 'cause of immigrants. You can fix things if you have the political will (and you do have enough resources to fix things) but it seems to be always about the next election cycle, which stops people doing the right thing. I'm sure many of those politicians (republicans and democrats) know better than the majority of people...but gotta get some votes!

You may have a point.... your application of the term intellectual curiosity brings to mind this select site:

Fine. Go and listen to John McCain. He actually cares about americans unlike Trump. It's ridiculous how you follow the one person who's doesn't give a damn about you. Unless you happen to be rich and white.

The part about the politicians selling out (Hillary, We spent the Harvey Weinstein money is the biggest of sellouts) was accurate but the rest was ridiculous. I guess living smack dab in the middle of it every day does not qualify you, but being around 8 thousand km (5k miles) away does.

Even when I posted videos of the ex-presidents going back to 1995 it is still not believed. Even the CIS guy is not believed.

Just the visa processing of 1.2 million immigrants per year must be overwhelming.

How many are really waiting to come to the USA anyway?

Jeff Flake is making a good speech that people should listen to

fake news....that's what people will say.

"The notion that one should stay silent as the norms and values that keep America strong are undermined and as the alliances and agreements that ensure the stability of the entire world are routinely threatened by the level of thought that goes into 140 characters -- the notion that one should say and do nothing in the face of such mercurial behavior is ahistoric and, I believe, profoundly misguided."

i completely agree with him

this is not the republican party i grew up with....

I have other more important things on my mind right now but since I promised you answers, I will give you some to show the readers of this forum what kind of falsehoods and half-truths you trying to peddle here.

Also the senior index analyst for Dow jones confirmed that since Trump took office the S&P 500 added 2,4 trillion in market value, Tech also rose 30% since election day because Trumps policy. DOW went up 4000 points right after the election.

So I will believe when Trump haters post supporting argument in regards to the market/economy and unbias professionals over you and your liberal sites. Again, thats the difference between you and I. You post liberal propangada, I post from unbiased sources. I suggest when you make comments like "you should do your research" you should actually do some yourself. Because this just looks silly on your part

Yet again you are showing half the facts by posting a graph from Bloomberg, which you only posted because you saw Trump in first place by a big margin, but is showing:

Market Highs and Presidents, Annualized Dow Jones Industrial Average all-time highs per year in office

View attachment 82979

But you conveniently omitted the graph below. Nobody denies that the markets have grown substantially since the election but every economist will tell you that those are down to an already friendly market which grew substantially in the past years and Trump's promises for big tax cuts and deregulation. So far, Trump has not kept any of those promises other than repealing some Obama era regulations. I have yet to see any real Trump initiated change, new regulation, law or anything similar.

Capture 1071.webp

Just because you say it doesnt make it true. Im the one using their words as proof. You are using your own thoughts and trying to pass it off as some sort of fact

This was about your quote:

Ford CEO

“We’re doing this decision based on what’s right for our business we think about the investments here in Michigan, as you can imagine, we look at a lot of factors as we make those. One of the factors that we’re looking at is a more positive U.S. manufacturing business environment under President-elect Trump and some of the pro-growth policies he said he’s going to pursue. And so this is a vote of confidence.”

Here are the FACTS about Ford:

"Ford said it plans to invest $850 million in its Wayne, Michigan, assembly plant. The company will also pump $150 million into its engine plant in Romeo, Michigan, and $200 million into a Michigan data center.

Most of this investment was already agreed upon as part of a 2015 labor deal with the United Auto Workers union. At that time, Ford pledged to invest $700 million in Wayne and $150 million in Romeo, creating or retaining 130 jobs.

So most of the news wasn't new. But the investment did ensure that the 3,700 workers in Wayne won't have their jobs shipped to Mexico anytime soon."

FACTS regarding GM's announcements to add jobs in the US:

What Trump said: "Just today -- breaking news -- General Motors announced that they're adding or keeping 900 jobs right here in Michigan," Trump said at a Detroit-area campaign speech after meeting with automakers. He added that the number of jobs in the region "would've been heading down big league if I didn't get elected."

The facts: Just under 700 GM workers laid off earlier this month will get their jobs back. GM plans to reinstate 500 jobs at its Lansing plant in 2018, and it's creating 180 plant jobs in nearby Flint for accommodate some who were fired. The company will also hire 220 new workers at its plant in Romulus.

GM did not directly attribute the announcement to Trump or his policies. The decision was predicated upon a "strong economy with a strong manufacturing sector," GM spokesman Tom Wickham said, as well as "anticipated strong demand" for crossover vehicles.

However, the announcement came hours before Trump flew to Michigan to talk about fuel economy rules with top automakers, including GM CEO Mary Barra.

"Today's event gave us a positive venue to share good news," Wickham said.

The carmaker already announced in January that it would invest $1 billion in U.S. factories and create or retain 7,000 domestic jobs.

FACTS about Exxon Mobile investing $20B and creating 45,000 jobs:

What Trump said: Trump tweeted about the announcement five times, and the White House put out a laudatory press release. "This is a true American success story," the president said in a statement. Trump said in a video that Exxon's investment was happening "to a large extent because of our policies and the policies of this new administration."

The facts: The jobs are part of an Exxon project called Growing the Gulf, which was launched in 2013 and aims to tap into the nation's shale boom. The company plans 11 natural gas projects along the Texas and Louisiana coasts.

An ExxonMobil spokesman said he didn't know how many of the 45,000 jobs were created between 2013 and 2016.

The investment is in line with Exxon's broader plans for growth. Woods has made natural gas a priority since he took the helm in January, and the company recently spent $5.6 billion to snap up shale assets in Texas and New Mexico.

Exxon's press release announcing the jobs focused on the money to be made exporting chemicals linked to shale gas -- not on Trump.

"These projects are export machines, generating products that high-growth nations need to support larger populations with higher standards of living," Woods said. "Those overseas markets are the motivation behind our investments."

Still, Woods gave the White House a hat tip in a statement circulated by the president's team.

"Investments of this scale require a pro-growth approach and a stable regulatory environment and we appreciate the President's commitment to both," Woods said.

The last sentence was pure Trump pleasing, nothing else. Pure genius though to say those words at that time, kudos to Exxon.

Want more??? Or are you that blinded by fake or alternative facts? I can show you a lot more examples.

oh yes lets read warren buffets statement who is a democratic supporter at a presidential level! I sure love that unbias opinion! Fact: Trumps plan would make it so the lower income families would pay almost nothing in taxes. Fact: He is cutting taxes for small business. Fact: removing the marriage penalty and raising child benefits is incredibly beneficial together. If you did your research properly, the 10% that is raised to 12% would most likely pay nothing under his new plan anyways.

Warren Buffet is a capitalist as good as they come and jumps on any opportunity to make a buck. But then you wouldn't listen to such people since you are so biased.

His quotes:

- I don't need a tax cut
- This is not a tax-reform act, this is a tax-cut act
- We have a lot of businesses, 60 or 70, and I don't think any of them are noncompetitive in the world because of the corporate tax rate
- For one thing, he disagrees with the idea of eliminating the estate tax — which is paid by people inheriting more than $5.7 million in assets. Buffett said eliminating the tax would reinforce a "dynastic" system that ran counter to American values.
"That's not good for capitalism, it's not good for the children, and I sure don't think it's good for society where there's already a ton of inequality to start with," Buffett said, referring to the heirs of large estates. "I think that's a terrible mistake to start with."

So please carry on with your Trumpian style of half truths, falsehoods and alternative facts. I'll keep posting the complete and true facts.

Tara!! :D

Just saw the FEMA director give Trump an A+ for how he reacted and dealt with all the hurricane disasters including puerto rico. Pretty impressive considering he was always a Clinton supporter.

Too bad all we see on the mainstream is how some democrat mayor that no one agrees with, making headlines with her anti trump rhetoric :(

Yet another half truth you are trying to peddle on this forum. Correct is:

The FORMER FEMA director gave Trump an A+ and it did NOT include Puerto Rico.

Here is Witt's interview after Trump bragged in his tweet that he received an A+ from him, who was the FEMA director during the Clinton administration, and his statement afterwards.

Eliott Rodriguez: “Director Witt, President Trump just said you gave his administration an A+ for his work in Puerto Rico.”

Witt: “Well, he expanded the truth. During Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, I was asked would I give them an A, and I said yes, they’ve done a good job, but that was way before Maria.”

Eliott: “The president has said three times that you gave him an A+ for his response to Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.”

Witt: “I didn’t say Maria.”

Eliott: “Did you say anything about Puerto Rico?”

Witt: “Nothing.”

Eliott: “Have you heard the president make these comments?”

Witt: “Yes, I heard it and I’ve put out a statement on that.”

Eliott: “Is the president not telling the truth?”

Witt: “Well, I’m not going to say he’s not telling the truth but I was only talking about Harvey and Irma.”

Eliott: “What about Puerto Rico?”

Witt: “I did not say Puerto Rico.”

In addition, Mr. Witt released the following statement:

“I was Director of FEMA for eight years and in that position responded to 350 Presidential disaster declarations. Disaster responses are about people – not politics.

Shortly after the initial responses to Hurricanes Harvey and Irma in Florida and Texas, I was asked if I would give the Trump Administration and FEMA an A+ for those responses. I said I would, on both hurricanes. This was prior to hurricane Maria in Puerto Rica and the Virgin Islands. Even today, it is yet to be determined whether the ultimate response to that hurricane will get an A, C or F or something else. As time goes by that will become apparent.

Disaster responses in the continental United States are made easier by our systems of highways, power repair and water supply and the large number of people and specialized equipment which can react with great speed.

Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, and our citizens there, are not as easy to reach as Florida or Texas, and present special and substantial issues of planning, logistics, and shipping, offloading, housing, water and adequacy of medical facilities.”

James Lee Witt
Former FEMA Director

What you forget as well in all this disaster response is the fact that after Katrina FEMA went through a thorough review of their procedures and implemented a lot of changes to respond better to hurricane disasters. This has greatly assisted what was done this year, hence, has nothing to do at all, or maybe a tiny little, with Trump's actions. FEMA just followed their improved procedures!

I would suggest you write about your alternative facts in other forums as here, they will be debunked time and time again. No matter how much you insist of posting only "unbiased facts", every post shows that they are either half-truths, incomplete or alternative facts or complete lies.

I would first like to say that its great to see you posting again Harry.
I think that Trump is an asshole but his policies and ideology is utterly geared towards Americas long term benefit based on a businessman's perspective. As far as I see in that regard he is getting things right as far as American interests are concerned.
My young daughters don't want to listen to me (Uni girls) because they hate him but I can not abide the general media's reporting of all things Trump

Thanks mate, life goes on.

Every president / prime minister / any other form of country leader puts his country first, Colin. I have yet to see one not doing that.

I agree, all media from the complete political spectrum has been on steroids for months and it gets boring after some time. However, do not forget, that a good part of that is done intentionally by Trump's actions. The media should maybe report only on every second thing as that would reduce some of the coverage, but then they have to feed their followers constant "breaking news", no matter on which side of the isle.

The best story in my view, which was churned endlessly through the media, was the Tillerson "moron" comment. It became hilarious how much time a single word can occupy in a news hour.

Its not a half truth at all. The washington post are the ones who posted the story. And its obvious I meant former because as you can see at the end I said "clinton supporter" who means only one person. So nice try again.

The only person who makes stuff up is you, the only proof we can find of that is all throughout your posts where you have been shown this time after time.

I will keep repeating it until you either admit it or stop making things up.

You made up a story about Ford. I showed you direct comments from the Ford CEO that showed you were wrong and posting made up stuff

You made up a comment saying no leader in the world supports Trumps stance. I showed you two direct statements.

You made up a false claim about president moon. I showed you direct comments.

Every single time you say something abusrd and try to pass it on as fact, I show you actual proof from the person mouth. And every single time your response is the same. Its "oh he didnt really mean it".

And then you try and use liberal reporters as proof or liberal websites. You were shown exactly non bias graphs from actual Trump hating new agencies debunking your claims and its still not good enough for you. Only your liberal made up graphs.

You are fooling no one not even yourself.

Keep using Warren Buffet as a source though. I enjoy it :)

I would suggest you write about your alternative facts in other forums as here, they will be debunked time and time again. No matter how much you insist of posting only "unbiased facts", every post shows that they are either half-truths, incomplete or alternative facts or complete lies.

I do find this comment rather hilarious though. Its either an attempt at a troll or your just so far backed into a corner you come out with a statement that actually only relates to you. You havent proved or debunked a single thing in here. Its all opinion or regurgitated lines from liberal websites that get debunked by the very people you make things up about. But more realistically, you debunk yourself every time you make things up.

Slotplayer, kudos to you for your efforts in this conversation.

For me, most times I cant be bothered but when people make stuff up and try and lie all the time and posts ridiculous bias soundbytes from CNN its get a little hard to resists not calling them out.

The media went to town on the fact that Trump forgot the name of an army vet who died during service and his widow was upset by it. Yes it was callus of him.But she made the most of it and how easy is it to be caught in the moment and forget to have ready access to a name? He did make the call!
What happened to Trumps impending Impeachment from a year ago? Believe me. If there where any solid grounds for it the American establishment would have made sure that it was implemented already.
And America has been about benefiting from World affairs for the past century or more. As far as I understand Trump has reeled back from that to some degree

I have other more important things on my mind right now but since I promised you answers, I will give you some to show the readers of this forum what kind of falsehoods and half-truths you trying to peddle here.

You didnt even try with this post.

I didnt forget any graphs. And again you making stuff up all over the place and this time worse than before.

#1. Ford CEO stated those words. Twist it however you want. He specifically stated Trump was partial reason for it. Everyone can read. You are fooling no one.
#2. More lies. Every market expert/econmist says its a friendly market and thats the only reason why? Except for almost all non bias ones who are completely neutral. Including some of the top analysts. But again you showing no proof just your bias speculation. Dow Jones market analyst is about as professional as you can. I guess he doesnt know anything. And I can go and find it if you want, I saw about 10-20 other experts claiming the same.
#3. You sure you want to go down this road claiming Trump hasnt rolled back regulations that has directly effected the economy and job growth? You cant just keep making things up and hoping people believe it. Sooner or later they will get tired of it. Sort of like I am tbh.

I like how you cherry pick the odd market or two though, its cute :)

And btw your threat to show me more. Please do. I have the week off so Ill be able to discredit everything you say as usual. But do me a favor please, dont make things up that are easily discredited by someones own words. Its a bit much and a waste of time. Im not really into "what Harry thinks so and so really meant"

Ill be waiting go ahead with your Don Lemony style stories :)

Your answers are as expected. To explain that I would have to quote my great grandfather, who told me once how to be sure that someone was lying:

"No, the nose does not grow but they will try to deflect and counter-attack. Then you can be sure they are or were lying!"

Regarding former FEMA director Witt: You jumped immediately on that line of reporting. And no, saying Clinton doesn't make it clear as he could have been a HRC supporter. A simple Google search would have shown you the truth and what he really said.

Regarding Ford: If you are so naive or gullible that you are not able to see through smart marketing talk then nobody can help you. Stay in your bubble and be happy.

Regarding no support for Trump from world leaders: I made that comment way before before Trump's UN speech your "direct statements" refer to. I stated at the time to which your statements refer, that there were only 2 who showed support (Israel & SK), it was actually 3, Japan was the 3rd. So re-read my post before posting more lies.

You claimed that having 2 supportive statements out of nearly 200 countries was, I quote you: "Nothing but support" ...Wow 1% support is in your view nothing but support! But yes, stay in your bubble and be happy.

You sure hate anything associated with "liberal" but keep reading their sites and stories. Do you even know what "liberal" really means? For somebody who probably barely left the N-American continent you sure think you know it all. Just like your comment "I met some Iranians", yet you were fine to brush all of Iran under one rug. But yes, stay in your bubble and be happy.

No further discussions with you, it is not worth my time nor effort. Tara! :D

For me, most times I cant be bothered but when people make stuff up and try and lie all the time and posts ridiculous bias soundbytes from CNN its get a little hard to resists not calling them out.

Monday was even a better day for media frenzy. I got a news channel on all the time, the soon I had enough of one side I switch to a channel from the other side, then to a channel from a different country, then to one in a different language etc. Yesterday and today, I was constantly switching as it was just nauseating to hear it all.

Some of the best quotes from the last days were on FOX though, understandably trying to deflect from the indictments:

Hannity: called H Clinton --> President Clinton
Corey Lewandowski, one of Trump's campaign managers: What we should be focusing on is the continued lies of the Clinton administration

Have they yet to realize that Mr. T is president? I know, only a slip of their tongue in all the heat, but it sure sounded funny :D :D :D

Pure show what is happening on all US channels, I prefer meanwhile Italian or Spanish channels as they have US news on the side only.

That whole thing was shameful. I had to stop watching the news after that.

Harry, you cant just make stuff up and expect everyone to buy it and not call you out on it. And then when you get called out, get mad and throw these hissy fits where you insult people.

FWIW you are making things up again in regards to your SK comments. I will gladly go through your posts if need be and quote them.

I wasnt the first to claim anything btw about supportive countries. You did and I corrected you. Do you even pay attention to what you post in all seriousness? I mean seriously, posts are saved and not deleted here. Its not hard to show you making stuff up.

About Ford. Im sorry but again grasping at straws. There is zero reason or strategy in stating what he did. He was asked a question and he answered it. No reason behind it.

As for Iran, my comments are to do with the government and how the country feels towards the USA in general. Again, you realize they chant death to america and have parades burning their flags? You realize they have school classes teaching to hate America right? I mean, what would you like me to say? All Iranians citizens dont hate america? Ok. But its common practice to hate America.

You dont call out Irans government but you call out America's. Isnt that rich. Can you get any more anti american?

And finally, About the fema director. If you knew anything, as soon as I mentioned fema director and clinton supporter you would know exactly who I meant. They were the only outspoken clinton supporters, Fema directors in recent history. So no it couldnt just be "anyone"

I dont live in a bubble but it seems you hang on everything CNN and BBC state and I think thats the problem right there.

That whole thing was shameful. I had to stop watching the news after that.

They are doing themselves more harm than good with this hate Trump agenda. People trust the media alot less than before. I watched a show where people went around asking others on the street what they think of the media and alot of them said it wasnt ot be trusted. Most comments were negative if not all.

People were also asked about Trump coverage and alot of people were again unhappy

And I read yday that some news outlet got into manafort's daughter's texts? I stopped reading. I did not want to know. It overstepped. And frankly it was so invasive and aggressive on who ever got their hands on it and published it. I was offended.

How far will the news media go. Honestly.

This breaking into emails. Texts. Phones. It has become ridiculous. There is no more privacy and basically if you're in some sort of position of power or in the spotlight....Be prepared to give up your privacy.

I'll say it again. I hate all news media.

They keep referencing a new age of communication having effected how people view the information we receive. People do not want to be regarded as gullible to misinformation. But many people are (possibly understandably) lazy minded. After work, kids, family, friends, pets and general life we want to switch of and slip into chilled mode rather than tax our brains researching and referencing various sources in order to gain a more informed opinion.
The result is that we simply either distrust most things without too much thought or become numb to what is happening in the World due to lack of interest/tiredness.
Talking of which,a battles about to start so I best pour a coffee :D

I thought the ultimate in media trivia this week was a story about Trump favouring red ties (and using sticky tape to keep the two ends together) and the hostile pseudo-psychobabble some experts trotted out to explain this.

That was in the same sort of vein as the bitchy media comments about the First Lady's choice of footwear on a trip to a disaster area!

Seriously, is this the level of journalism now?

"Journalism is the production and distribution of reports on the interaction of events, facts, ideas, and people that are the "news of the day" and that impacts society to at least some degree"

99% of today's garbage is straight up Nat Enquirer bullshit, it cannot be called journalism, sad that the most interesting read today was the 28yr old that picked up the 48yr old at the airport and she gave him a BJ on the plane.....the FBI is now involved.......there are a gazillion headlines of Trump, the GOP, Dems etc...all I could think about is why cant I meet somebody at the airport like that??

I need to travel more

Perhaps I'll choose Easyjet

Trump's at it again-

this time he's murdering innocent Koi in Japan by pouring buckets of food into the lake, not emptying the remnants of the box in tandem with Japan's PM, who is also doing the same

When not plotting the destruction of the planet he's busy killing fish!

From my perspective, goatwack's comment was very, very funny. I don't think he is the one who has a 'stick up in your ass'.

Folks, please note. I did NOT expose a "CIA pedophile ring." I spoke hypothetically:rolleyes: in a speech about CIA officers and child trafficking.

Hi Kelly Jo,I hope that your in "rude health"? :D

I have not done any research on the story so I have an open mind about the claims. However I do have a distrust about a lot of things that goes on between the "elites" of this World

I'm on the same page as you. Freakshow seems to be the norm with "elites." But I have serious doubts that a tape exists. It (with the exception that a poor child was abused) would be too good to be true.
