Dear Mr.XXXXXXX,

Thank you for your email. We have taken a look at your account in regards to the situation.

You may withdraw via cheque or memberwire to your Bank Account.

NETELLER will be offering a New Pre Paid Card for our members which will be available at the end of May 2007.

Depositing to Neteller becomes easier I guess. They should have
managed solving withdrawal problems :(

I haven't been able to extract any further information on this pre-paid card and what players will be able to do with it.

Neteller's PR is surely one of the worst out there, and it costs them business I believe.

Here we (apparently) have a solution to the card problem they have handed to their customers, their Support seem to have been briefed sparingly on it....but they have not issued an communication on it telling players what's happening.

It's just unbelievable.

NETELLER Announces New Prepaid Cards for Europe and Asia Pacific

Thursday, 3 May 2007 NETELLER Plc (LSE: NLR), the independent global online payments business, today announced the first product in a new suite of prepaid, reloadable debit and remittance cards for its customers in Europe and Asia Pacific.

The first of these products, a new prepaid card, is tied to a customers NETELLER e-wallet account, and can be used at over 24 million ATMs and Point-of-Sale (PoS) terminals worldwide.

The ability for our customers to access and use funds from their e-wallets at over 24 million online and offline outlets worldwide is very important to both them and us. said Ron Martin, NETELLER President and CEO. As we continue to grow our business in Europe and Asia Pacific, we believe this new prepaid debit programme will allow us to open up new areas of business.

The new prepaid card replaces the existing NETELLER Card. The new card will offer customers more flexibility and significantly lower pricing than the previous card. Importantly the new card will be available in multiple currencies and is tied to the customers e-wallet account, saving the consumer foreign exchange fees. The Group expects the new prepaid card to be available to customers by the end of May 2007.

The existing NETELLER Card is being withdrawn on 3 May 2007, as previously communicated to customers and merchants, in accordance with a notification very recently received by NETELLER from the third-party card provider. Canadian customers can continue to use their existing NETELLER Card but only on the Interac network and only in Canada.

Additional information and pricing on the new prepaid cards may be found on the Groups website at Outdated URL (Invalid).

This could be good... the only major disadvantage I can see is the cost of an ATM withdrawal going up to 2 pounds... every other fee went down or became free, multiple currencies supported meaning no more foreign exchange fees, and withdrawal and balance limits significantly higher to 10,000 pounds.

I gotta say I am looking forward to this - a very positive move on Neteller's part, and quick given the short time frames.

Another plus is that NT seems to have finessed this through Mastercard, which is quite an achievement given current circumstances.

Another PR snafu was that some US customers reported receiving this announcement as well, according to posts at the Neteller Customer Coalition. For people waiting patiently for any news on their frozen funds, this did not go over well.

It occurs to me that the people who received this announcement went to sign up for Neteller news updates - so they would naturally have gotten this announcement. I don't think this was sent out to accountholders - certainly I did not get one relating to my account.

I can't believe these people. They're still holding millions of $'s of USA customer's money, but they have time and resources to implement new products? What do you want to bet they're using ill-gotten USA customer's money to fund these new ventures?

Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, it's confirmed. I spoke with the Neteller rep here at the CAC Amsterdam, and they will be coming out with a new card that will be used like a Mastercard. There also won't be any fees involved. :D

Great news! At last something good from Neteller!

Just curious, how can people still frequent NT after what they've done to customers in the USA? They're holding millions and have no intention of paying up.

Thanks for the clarification. I didn't get the announcement either, and I was wondering why other US customers did. If people can easily opt out of updates, then it's not as big of a deal.

Off at a tangent for a moment, sdaddy - any idea of what the membership numbers at NCC look like nowadays? I haven't seen anything from them in a while.

^There are currently 757 members with a total of over $4 million in frozen funds.

FYI, June 4th is the deadline for Neteller to announce its plan to pay US customers.

Thanks!

Last time I checked it was only around 500.

Now how do I remove that dang thumbsdown I stuck up there in error!!

Update

SIXTH TIME LUCKY FOR NETELLER DUO?

Arrested in January, and five continuances later Lawrence and Lefebvre remain untried

May 16 was the last date set for a hearing into charges related to online gambling lodged against Neteller founders Stephen Lawrence and John Lefebvre by the US Department of Justice, yet in the fifth continuance to date yesterday (Wednesday) the two men were told the matter had again been postponed - although for only two weeks rather than the now usual one month.

Out on $5 million bail and confined to the United States, the issue must be wearing for Lefebvre and Lawrence, respectable Canadian businessmen who had to undergo the indignity of being arrested by the FBI and detained before the massive bail bond was set back in January this year.

The arrests resulted in the Isle of Man-based and London listed e-wallet they founded withdrawing from the US, freezing US player accounts and monies and conducting a series of negotiations of unknown content with the feds.

A month back, Neteller said that agreement had been reached on paying the US player account balances, but that this could take some time. Since then there has been little in the way of overt movement or communication from the company.

I just have to say......
That it really amazes me, that after the way Neteller has acted with Americans and Canadians that ANYONE would still use them.

What makes you folks in Europe think that your money is safe with Neteller?

Your money is obviously not safe, I mean Neteller have proven that themselves, in the way they have treated Americans, Canadians and their money... so why keep using them?

Do you folks in Europe really think that Neteller would treat you or your money any differently than they did the North American money???

Sometimes I just don't get people.

what can we do? Neteller is still the most convenient thing for online gamblers. Their limits are high, they are accepted by the most of reputable online casinos, they are easy to use, they had a debit card which one could use without need to ever use his bank account...And the new card promises to be even better than the old one. And if one tries not to keep his Neteller balance too high- the risk is not that big... Still i blame american legislators for all the problems for american users of Neteller.

That's why I need the new neteller card soon ;)
