Pretty simple solution.

Given the difficulty involved in landing such a hit on such a brutal (and most likely expensive game), if only three members qualify, then upgrade their prizes by 25 quid each to 175, 125 and 100.

If a fourth member qualifies for gold tier, change the prizes to 160 (up 10), 110 (up 10), 80 (up 5) and 50 (no change).

If a fifth member qualifies, then do nothing, as everyone who qualified is guaranteed a prize.

The prize structure in the gold tier has a flaw in it in any case.
As 5th prize in that tier gets LESS than 5th place in silver tier AND ALL winners in Bronze tier.

A bit of a (comparatively) piss poor reward for managing to do something that (as has been clearly demonstrated in this comp) is rather bloody difficult to do.

Just expressing an opinion. Hopefully I won't get ban hammered for it!! :rolleyes:

McG, I know we've had our differences but I completely agree with you here.

And I don't just say that because I'm involved in the Gold tier (before anyone asks), it's just strange that the prize structure for Silver is better towards the downside of the prizepool.

I've known you long enough SIS to know that you definitely would have said the exact same thing had you NOT been in the Gold Tier. You have a track record of playing with a straight bat, of being fair.

That's why I put a suggestion forward, because I know I am a non-participant in this comp.

If you, SCATT3R or Quickwitted had made the same suggestion, I think we all know what could/might have happened.
You'd have maybe copped an accusation or two of "looking after number 1 or having a me, myself and I agenda" blah blah blah.

As for the prize pool, I have a fair idea of why the structure is the way it is.
Dealing in round numbers, multiples of 100 total prize money per tier, multiples of 25 per individual prize applied as often as can be allowed within said prize pool etc etc

Me personally, I would prefer something a little more like this for the Target comps....

Gold - 150 105 75 55 40 - TOTAL 425
gaps in prizes are 45, 30, 20 and 15 - gaps decrease by 15, 10 and 5

Silver - 105 70 50 40 35 - TOTAL 300
gaps in prizes are 35, 20, 10 and 5 - gaps decrease by 15, 10 and 5

Differences in prizes for corresponding positions between the two tiers are 45, 35, 25, 15 and 5,
reducing by 10 each time.

All nice and tidy....so far. Now the tricky bit.

Total prize money for Bronze Tier is now reduced to 275. So what to do? Well, here's a suggestion....

EITHER
Keep the 10 prizes BUT make it so the nearest five still get 30 each, but the other five get 25 each.
So there is still an element of a (albeit very slightly) greater reward for being among the closest.
5 x 30 = 150, 5 x 25 = 125; 150 + 125 = 275

OR
Reduce the number of prizes (by 1) to 9.
And everyone gets the same 30 each, except for the closest entry, who gets 35.
1 x 35 = 35, 8 x 30 = 240; 35 + 240 = 275

This also ensures (regardless of which option is used) that the top prize in Bronze Tier is (at the very least) not greater than the lowest prize in both Silver and Gold tiers.

And before anyone says "those are odd amounts to be awarding as prizes", all I can say in response is...

Remember what the prizes were for the Multiplier Mayhem comps?
They were from 145 for 1st down to 55 for 10th, decreasing by 10 per position.

@zellie submitted an entry in post #93 (43x, qualifying for Bronze tier).
Also, @cheekymonkey submitted an entry in post #94 (14x, also qualifying for Bronze tier).

From what I can see, there is no evidence to suggest that they have been included.

I should also point out that zellie's entry is their ONLY Bronze Tier entry, so it should be included.
Cheekymonkey's entry was the first of two TOTAL entries in Bronze Tier (his second was post #96), so it should also be included.

In terms of the chronological order in which the Bronze tier wins occurred, these two wins would come after @Reelsoffun's win of 108x (in post #85) and before cheekymonkey's win of 40.9x (in post #96).

If he had done one, he would have stated quite clearly (as he has ALWAYS done in the comp threads,

I could easily counter that by saying you are way out of line for your complete lack of patience.
Pretty much EVERYONE who enters these comps knows the drill by now.
The updates are done when @Webzcas finds the time to do them.
And once they have been done, the only words that need to be seen are there for all to see*.

In the absence of those words SINCE you posted your entries, it is pretty damn safe to assume that your entries were NOT missed. Yet you come on here implying that they were missed.
No wonder Quickwitted referred to you as a Karen.

IF you had actually taken the time to properly read my post, you would have seen that the missed entries that I was referring to were submitted BEFORE Webzcas' most recent update, NOT AFTER.
