Hello

I decided to give Great Blue another try today and i was actually on the slot for just over 3 hours non stop play on auto spins and didn't trigger a feature once and i think the best pay i got was around 20 x is this normal for this slot ?

I have posted a screenshot below so you can see in the bottom right corner how long my play session was on this slot, I played it at coral casino and everytime you open a slot it starts a session timer from when you open the slot not total time i have been logged in the casino.

When this slot is cold it is really really cold. Ive went 1500 spins before without a bonus or a good win. I did learn that after abit if it feels cold leave this slot

I didn't know this slot was so bad i only played it for the first time the other day this was my second go at playing it, If i decide to play it again i will have to give it 100 - 200 spins and then probably leave it.

As someone who has played this game a lot, I can say with certainty that what you've experienced here is entirely normal. This is a very, VERY volatile/streaky game, so you're more likely to have a bad session playing it than a good session. But when you do get lucky on it, it can pay off massively. I've had €50 starting balances turn into €1000+ cashouts several times thanks to this game, which is why it's one of my favorites.

Hope your next session on the game isn't as brutal.

yup good plan. I usually give it 125 spins and see where im at after

This is one of playtechs best slots made and you wont find many...if any who say they hate it. The potential is massive. But as all high variance slots, its cold streaks can be bad.

Well i started off with depositing £50 and doing 50 pence spins but ended up depositing more i will just have to keep it at just one £50 deposit and then just leave if it doesn't do anything, I obviously got lucky the first time i played it the other day because i got a bonus really quick and it paid just over 200 x bet, I posted it in the winner videos thread.

This and Marilyn Monroe are extremely volatile slots. I've been on both sides of the fence. Early on, I was regularly getting 360x+ wins with a high of 814x. Lately, it's been tight and bonus rounds are few and far between in Great Blue. I still play it because it has massive potential but you will experience sessions of low pays, dead spins and bonus teases. Bring lots of bankroll.

One of my favourite slots at one time, but I soon fell out of love with it as it can decimate bankrolls for fun.

Much like Marilyn Monroe, Penguin's Vacation and others of this ilk it can produce wonderhits but it is definitely not for the faint of heart.

Far better to approach this game on minimum bets and aim for the magical x10 multiplier. Once at a decent amount, raise bets. I just wouldn't trust this game at 50p with a £50 starting balance to be fair.

Shows though that Playtech do have some crackers, even if a little lowroller unfriendly

I think I once went something like 2400 spins on this before getting a bonus round and even then it was just the standard 33 spins and 2x multiplier! Awful but I do like the game in itself.

I wonder if anyone has ever hit 5 wilds on this, I've hit 3 and some large stacked wild hits but never 4 or 5 of a kind Wilds in about 3 years of playing it.

Early on, I got 4 Wilds. I'll upload the picture if I still have it or link you to Slot Fanatics where I took a screenshot later.

I've played this slot far more than any other, in the early days I kept records like spins between bonus rounds and bonus round awards and payouts. I stopped bothering as it became too much of a chore but I think my highest recorded gap was about 1100 spins and my worst payout was zero, on more than one occasion. But the good stuff is good:-

Scatter/Bonus symbols - have had 5 of these 6 times but only ever in general play, have only ever had 3 or 4 during bonus play with the multiplier effect and of course a 15 spin re-trigger

Bonus Wins - the best has been approx 2000 x total bet or 50000 x line bet, once, then 5 times I've had around 1000 x total bet or 25000 x line bet, whichever makes more sense to you. Had plenty of wins around the 500-600 x total bet amount. As above the bad ones are brutal, have had zero from 8 spins at x15 at least 3 times. However none of the biggest wins have come from the 23 at 10x multiplier award. They have all been at x7 or x10 but a mix of 15 and 18 spins with the very biggest coming from 8 spins at x15 but I had two re-triggers in that as well so 38 spins in total.

Stacked Wilds - the best I have seen is the first four reels full, so 12 wilds, and that has happened 3 times in general play. Have only seen the first 3 reels, or 9 wilds, during bonus spins.

Normal Play Wins - apart from the big payouts on the 5 scatters, stacked wilds and the various combos have been the best. I think the biggest was about 1000 x total bet and came from 4 reels of wilds and the 5th reel included a shark. However big wins in general play are rare, I would consider anything about 30-50 x total bet to be big but fairly frequent. At the 50-100 x total bet it's getting more rarefied but still rolls in. Once you're beyond that then we're talking very rare and the real biggies you may never see unless you play this slot a heck of a lot.

But over the years this slot has cost me a fortune and it's all because of a 'miracle' first session. Started with £300 and was playing at 10p a line or £2.50 a spin. Ran this up to £7k including £2.5k from my first ever bonus round, yep my first bonus round paid 1000 x total bet, a thing I wasn't to see again for a long time. Then decided it was playing so well that I'd really go for it and upped my stake to £25 total bet and ran on up to £12k which I then cashed out...this was at William Hill.

You all know the rest of the story....if I'd walked away, etc, etc....but I just had this itch and Great Blue was such a payout machine. This was all back in the days when I knew nothing about variance, losing streaks and the possibility that perhaps the slots play looser when you start. Needless to say they got all my winnings back plus much, much more.

If you want to know bankroll for this slot then I'd say multiply whatever you intend your total bet to be by a factor of 600 so if you're playing at 50p a spin(2p a line) then you want to start with £300. This doesn't guarantee anything but it should be enough to give a reasonable session, win or lose.

Apart from that no tips, I've had it go from red hot to stone cold and vice versa so many times and never a hint of when and why. Sessions where the bonus rounds have been widely spaced and pitiful payouts and others where they've hit often and paid from good to great.

Gona give it a spin

Gonna give it a spin. I was looking at it the other day but ended up playing Ice Run instead. It's always been one of those that I've seen and never actually had a spin.:D
