Late last year I was given a coupon when I bought a pizza at Pizza Hut.
I went in a few days after this and they refused to honour the coupon. No reason was given.
I looked at the coupon and everything seemed to be in order; the date had not expired, the offer was reasonable (20% discount on large pizzas), no typos, and so forth.
Recently I was told what Pizza Hut done was illegal and to contact consumer affairs.
Before I done this I contacted Pizza Hut about it. I’m waiting on a response.
In the meantime I checked in with consumer affairs in my country and found the following:
A supplier or promoter cannot offer you rebates, gifts, prizes or other free items without intending to provide them, or without providing them as offered.
The business may have a defence where the failure to provide the free item was not the supplier’s fault and they took reasonable care to avoid the failure.
You must be given the rebate, gift, prize or other free item:
• within the time specified in the offer, or
• if no time was specified, within a reasonable time.

It’s true that online casinos are not held to country specific laws but it is interesting to note that it’s illegal in some countries.
