PayPal, you gotta be kidding me

I got a message from a certain casino introducing "PayPal" as an option. They won't credit the money directly, but will "comp" you the amount you send.

Sounds like they are getting desperate. I wouldn't risk this method!

I'd give any casino that offers Paypal as an 'option' wide berth, too. These are indeed desperate times...

That's bizarre. What difference does it make how they credit your account after they have received the funds? It's not like PayPal is monitoring someone's casino account, they are going to be monitoring their PayPal account. It's like going to a gun shop to buy a gun, and after the background check, you pay for it with a check and ask that the gun be mailed to your home in an unmarked brown package instead of walking out with it.

Why hide what happens after the purchase is made, when the transaction itself was done out in the open?

I got that email too. I checked out the casino link, it was a cheesy casino.

Its more like having your legit neighbor go to a gunshop, buy the gun, bring it home after all the background checks have been done, and giving it to you 'cos you will not pass the background checks..

This is about as risky as it gets for a group. Paypal are not stupid, they will pick up fairly quickly what is going on, and the casino group will kiss their funds goodbye (unless paypal know in advance exactly what is going on, which I doubt)

It'll probably raise a flag when Paypal see two-way payments, in and out, between one company/user and lots of people, mainly in the US. Wouldn't be too hard to track I'd have thought. I also doubt that there would be any comeback whatsoever if the company ran with the money as the user has agreed to Paypal's terms which I would assume state no gambling - in the US at least? A guess.
