PANHANDLING AT 3DICE??

I didn't mean for this to be a big deal, just didn't know what was up with the message, now I do. Thanks everybody, and keep those tourney credits coming!

Who's notorious Nash?? If it's me I will feel like an April Fool!!
Last post as this is more about 3DICE than CM but shamefully it also happens here via PM (and under false pretense) or prolly anywhere gambling is involved (as I recently posted about a 7 day stalker in Tunica I finally had to get Security to remove)...yes for you Pacers it would be considered an April fool as you would know I was not referring to you!!...I am done in this thread!

Well, "whew"... glad I am a depositting player. :D

I am a bit shocked at some of you, because people do fall upon hard times especially now, and not because of gambling!!.

I do not agree with "begging" and never will!!
... Guys, we all really don't know what went down so we should not be so quick to judge!!

there are so many scenarios....

I left CM a while back and stayed in the shadows because "friends were bashing friends" etc, etc.... gambling can be a vicious demon. But we are not the ones to judge this situation.

Someone who does not deposit at 3dice asking for money from a "winning player" :what: ... or.... someone who thought they were friends (whatever the context of friendship) but were not....

thank you babs for clearing up that this was a non depositting player.

and yes pacers did you need a tc because I do have an extra one. seriously.
but i need your sn at 3dice... you can pm me if you wish.. or look in your balance.
I for one have been there handing out tc's and have found my "friends" have paid me back.
thank you all.............. and good luck everyone.

(mysticjoz bows out and into the shadows again, as I would rather help my friends when I can and know they will repay me... then live in a world of greed where my son's smile can be bought with a ten spot!
Because the most precious things in this world can not be bought. and no price can be placed upon them. for those things I am eternally grateful.)

No Mystic, I was just being sarcastic. I don't care who gives who what at 3Dice, but it has been entertaining discussing this on April 1. Nash... Happy April Fools day. Or as my five year old says..."PAPER FOOLS!!!" Good night all, look forward to our next discussion!

The Real Reason...

Hey guys...

It's been a while since I've posted, but I am in 3Dice chat nearly every day at almost any time (you all know me as GGKris there :D )...

One of the reasons the rule was enacted is because the begging got to be quite a bit out of hand with some members of chat. It seemed that every time certain people came in, all they wanted to do was beg some people (and only certain people at that) for TC's (my experience) and if no one gave them any, they would essentially sit in main chat and whine basically until they got some. I know this to be true for a couple of people.

You could debate this issue ad nauseam and some people would still have a hissyfit about it. The plain and simple truth of the matter is that it got WAY out of hand, and finally someone listened to the PLAYERS and not the bottom line and did something about it. I applaud Enzo and the team for having the cojones to step up and say "Look - this is not allowed... Either stop now or go away!"

Cheers,
Kris

Hi all!

Im gonna answer this thread since i do know what its all about.
I guess im one of the "to blame" for that message in chat. But there is a good reason for it, if you ask me.

I did share some of my winnings...i set up some tourneys and i gifted a few that i do talk to alot...that are friends.
And that was all good.
But then it got out of control...i had people i never even seen before sending me pm's asking for money and gifts. Both in chat and from 3dice site.
Some of the ones that i did gift, came back and asked for more. And some didnt stop with 1 pm or even 2...they sent like 1-2 a day for days. Begging for money.

It got to the point where i had to tell 3Dice about it, when i started to feel that i needed to hide just because i was having some luck.

I really didnt have a problem with people asking...but the "hunting" is just to much. And the new "friends" that i got all of a sudden, that i never seen before, well...what can i say....

The message in chat is about begging from users, not about asking Enzo for a TC or 2...or a bonus if you had some really bad luck.

I hope this gives you the answer you need :)

I wish you all the best of luck!!

((((HUGS)))) Trollet

When I saw the 'no begging' message for the first time, I thought it was directed towards me specifically. Soon after I learned this was not the case.

Enzo was in chat and I told him what I thought when I first read it for the first time (that the message was meant for me). He reassured me that it was not directed towards me...at the same time, other members explained what had been going on in chat and how the begging got way out of hand with certain individuals. There are so many 'nice' and 'giving' people at 3Dice that were being taken advantage of by these 'beggers.' I personally have never been hit up for any cash or tourney credits (cuzz everyone there knows I'm always broke!)

Other members and I expressed to Enzo that the 'no begging' message in red seen immediately upon logging in is a bit harsh and could easily be misunderstood, like in my case. Enzo took what we had to say to heart and said he would go and change it. Thats fair enough for me.....

Honestly, if there's some begging going on when it really shouldn't be, those accounts should be closed and if they open new accounts and start up again they should post who is doing the offending so everyone knows to avoid them like the plague.

When someone begs me for money I just send them a nice message back with the gamblers anonymous website and phone number. Let them know they need that more than $10 more to blow on the slots.

Hi Guys,

Allow me to apologize for the confusion that the wording of my message in the 3Dice chat caused. (It's been changed). As previous posters have pointed out, this only referred to the begging that has been going on to some of our valued players, and we came at a point where a warning for that was definitely in place.

People will be people, and unfortunately, its always the nice ones being victimized. We don't tolerate begging in the b&m (average response time to get muscle over would be about 30 secs), and we wont tolerate it in the 3Dice chat either. My message was intended to be strong, I guess I just overdid it a tiny bit ;). mea culpa !

(just my luck it was april 1st :D)

Kindest Regards,

Enzo

Enzo,
Does the 3Dice chat and PM system have an "ignore" option?

I haven't used it, but this would be a way for members to enforce this rule if it turned out that these individuals ignored this message, and continued with the "begging" by more subtle means.
A simple "report this" button for the PM system and a "report user" for chat would do a similar job.

I am surprised it has taken this long for the 3Dice gifting system to fall victim to this;)

GoneGambling run a similar system for their GG points, which are like 3Dice "tournament credits", and there have had to be NUMEROUS efforts by GG admin to get rid of the "beggars" and "scammers" who seek to manipulate the system. GG have a switch, and they use it, turning gifting off when things get "out of hand". It is now usually "off", and only switched on for special events, such as Easter - less time and trouble to police it.

"Begging" is a way of life for us Fruit Machine players, I can guarantee that when I go on the Motorways playing Fruit Machines I will be targeted by these "beggars", asking for "a pound for a cuppa", which will, if given, go straight into a Fruit Machine:rolleyes:
Sadly, there is no "muscle" to chuck them out, you have to deal with it either by saying "no", or having a bit of fun with them:D
There are SOME Motorway "beggars" who can supply "information" for their "cuppa", and sometimes this MIGHT be worth the pound.

My usual put down is "If your Fruitie system is so good, WHY do you NEED a pound from ME?"

Beware the "Fruitspider", probably the most persistent of the motorway "beggars", his "Fruitie systems" are BOGUS, but I watched in disbelief as he conned some poor innocent by getting the Jackpot for him around 20 AFTER his advice was to "knock back" the FIRST Jackpot in order to get the SAME payout through the feature game. He was given a fiver for LOSING this chap 20 unnecessarily:confused:

some ppl dont undearsteand that some times its easyer to borrow 50k than 10 bux.....

I wasn't going to say anything as this particular topic gets me riled up.

This used to happen a lot in online poker rooms... gives me the shivvers... 'I just need $5 for a tourney' sort of thing. And it would come from people who weren't even in that particular game -- they'd just pop in (as an observer) and start hitting up strangers for chips.

It even happens at B&M casinos. I hit $200 (big deal ) on a quarter slot and this guy comes up and starts whining about not having money for a bus ride home or some such crap. (Then what's he doing at the casino in the first place??)

Mousey's tip of the day: Don't ask for money for gambling (or for 'food' or 'gasoline' if you've gambled your money away), and don't give it to 'em if they do ask. And just a suggestion... any panhandling -- whether via PM or whatever -- should be reported to the board/chat/casino operator.

meet ya on collins where the rascal house used to be. i'll put your theory to the test.:)

If you live in that area.....you are not fare away from hallandale beach blv.
I suggest you try Nando Trattoria italian restaurant....best ever, trust me.
Thats the place were Ill take my friends if they will really show up one day.(message for RW and company)

Just a thought.....if you didn't have "john doe just won $2,000 on tut" in the chat message, no one would know how other people are doing right? I personally don't like that feature, when you can see how well other people are doing (even if it's only in a tourny, not sure if you do it with real money)

LOL Just Play

I dont like that either...if i wanna play real i have to leave cause if i see a big win it gives me anxiety thinking im gonna lose

I just wanted to say thanks to 3Dice for the daily tournaments. I don't play them often and have never won a tournament but it's a great option sometimes. Unfortunately freebies bring out the casino whoring crowd. It was somewhat overdue for 3Dice to draw the line.

On a related matter I for one hope that the "way too sweet" threads about 3Dice will decrease because this player sees them as just a different form of panhandling.

next time down to fla i'll give it a try. my place is in davie, off orange, 5 minutes from hard rock. not too far from hallandale beach bvd.

Just curious, why was this a blanket message in the first place, instead of approaching the offenders in private? It's not like every single person was doing it....
