Hello-
First post and I would appreciate any opinions-
I'm a novice online gambler but I do enjoy my sportsbook. During
the last few weeks, I had an unbelievable run of good luck with both the same casino and sportsbook. I started with $ 750 and I cashed out $ 26,400. Most of the money was won playing deuces wild and a very lucky bet at Calder race track. I was notified by the casino by phone that if I took the winnings in a reduction of cash ( $ 22,000 ), they would notify a company representative in Miami and hand deliver the cash. MOST IMPORTANT - no paper trace. Since I have never had any problems with this casino, I agreed and the money was delivered just as promised yesterday. I tipped the representative and the two giants I took with me ( just in case ) and I ran away with my winnings. Question- did I do the right thing/ Did I do anything illegal?
I did take everyones advise and never reverse a cash-in. Thanks Joe Miami

Congrats on your big win :notworthy Wish you many more.

I don't know all the legal ins and outs, but whenever someone wants to pay me in cash or wants the payment to leave no paper trail... I get a little nervous, especially these days.

My only advice would be to be sure and pay the taxes on your winnings.

I would have just taken the full amount in Neteller. But it does sound like fun being handed $22,000 cash with a couple of goons in tow. Whereabouts was the handoff?

Of course

You did wrong and something illegal.

You did not reported money to the IRS.. which I am pretty sure its a felony, plus you received winnings from online gambling... "recently not approved by the US goverment" and already a felony on Washington.

You gave up about 4k, bad move.

You could have withdrawn the whole amount in 4 paymets of $7k each through check or neteller or any other method.

It was a good deal and since you accepted the casino didn't do nothing unfaithfull, however you could have made a better move, but good thing they paid.

Next time, I recommend you to request advise prior doing that instead of requesting advise after you have made the deal.

Anyways, good for you. The operation seems to be honest and they honored their deal...

You can send me a tip if you want... I won't complain about it :D

You did wrong and something illegal.

The sportsbetting thing was possibly illegal but online casino gambling is only illegal in 11 states (well, 9 but 2 are too grey), and I think Miami is outside that. So my bet (sic) is that the sportsbet was illegal, the casino wins weren't.

Am I missing something here - how could he take the payout to Neteller if he's in the USA...?

Anyway - congrats on your superb win jcvdd! :notworthy

Halloween is near and someone resurected a dead post

Same OP here as the hacker post... clue in that thread.

Why was this 15 months old thread resurrected today?
Shit! I didn't notice that! :p (That explains the Neteller!)

The post time-stamps say it was resurrected by Simmo! :eek2:
(Bloody early in the morning - probably still had 'sleep' in his eyes & lager in his veins!)
:D

To Simmo -
Thanks-
By reposting that thread, really made my day-
It feels as if I won again !!!
PS- At least it took me a good four months and alot of fun
to lose it @ Bodog
Peace Joe Miami

Not yet, unless online gambling is illegal where you live. But it will be illegal if you don't declare it on your tax return.
and hope it was clean money or if not clean you remain lucky.........very risky biz...........but as I said in an earlier post today (since what's done is done)>>>> I had a lot of worries in my life, 99.9% of which never occured.

oh well this is well old but what the hey.

Ok offhand I think you passed up about 4,200 or so. Surely the tax wouldnt have been this much anyway? And then it would have been all done legit.

But being in the US you might have been worried about the new laws (but theses weren't even around when this happened, i dont think).

Seems a weird deal..... like I've said before, casino ALWAYS wins! O : )

Hmmm...I was making the most of the MUSHR:eek2::eek2:MS before they Old / Expired Link.

Dunno where I got that from - must have been in the "related posts" or something. Ah well.

Gee 97% of the problems were tourists, all they have to do is give out national mushroom cards. Solved. Next :D

Congrats on your win and WELCOME! Legally speaking, in my opinion, who gives a ****? I thought jcvdd was dead....?
