Hi guys! My name is Sabrina, I work for a marketing agency in Toronto. Once a upon a time, I used to work for an online casino group and I remembered how valuable and insightful the Casinomeister forums were! I'm currently working on a promotional campaign for my client. And I thought I would put out some feelers on how online casino players view themselves and the games they play. I was hoping you could help complete the following sentences:

Online casino gamers are… and are not…
Roulette players are…. and are not…
Slot players are… and are not…
Video Poker players are… and are not…
Sic Bo players are… and are not…
Black Jack players are… and are not…
Baccarat players are… and are not…

Feel free to make up your own sentences and/or pick and choose from the list above. I appreciate your input! Thanks guys! If you are from Canada, your input would be extra extra valuable... ;)

Cheers!
Sabrina

Online casino games are… more accessible with better RTP....gam(ers) are more bitter
Roulette players are…. damn dull, and strategies are ridiculous
Slot players are… creatures of vice
Video Poker players are… more likely to roll in $ but dull as chatters
Sic Bo players are… probably 2nd generation
Black Jack players are… smart; its where best odds lie
Baccarat players are… far beyond my understanding to relate to

Baccarat players over analyze a coin toss game.

Baccrat players also love there pet monkey.

Slot players are creatures of habbit who eat twinkies all day long and have a cup of Folgers by there side. :p lol

I actually had a discussion the other night in a casino in London with a couple of people about how Blackjack players differ from slots players. For me, slots is all about being able to switch off and wind down. I don't want to have to think about gambling.

Also, I play for the big win. 2, 3 or 10x my bet back isn't exciting IMO. I'd suggest that changes with BJ and card game players because they feel they earned it?

As a blackjack player, I totally hear where you're coming from about winding down and relaxing, and I actually feel the same way. Unless you're working hard counting cards (which you obviously can't do online), if you have the basic strategy memorized, you don't have to think all that hard about your blackjack play, and for me I still find it relaxing. As for big wins—it all depends on your betting strategy. I use a paroli betting system, so I start with a small bet, if I win, I ride the winnings, if I win again, I ride it one more time. So if I started with a $2 bet, by the end I have actually won $14 from my original $2 bet. That is of course excepting any splits/doubles. I guess my point is, if you're raising your base bet as your bankroll grows, if the cards are with you you can win pretty big pretty fast. I actually just posted a thread in which I got up from $20 to $5k in less than two hours playing blackjack last night. Of course, you should obviously play what you want to play, but yeah—reason I play blackjack is the odds are closest to 50/50, and I enjoy the feeling of having an effect on what's going on (even though if I'm playing perfect basic strategy... it all comes down to the order of the cards and luck lol).

As for filling in the blanks...

Online casino gamers are usually reasonable and are not sore losers.
Roulette players are the crazy and are not playing with great odds haha.
Slot players are mellow and are not stressed.
Video Poker players are anti-social ;).
Black Jack players are superstitious.

Would you say the perception of playing blackjack is nearing closer to playing poker (i.e. some strategy behind it)?
Blackjack is the only game I've ever played at a casino and successfully left as a winner.

And about slot players being mellow and not stressed, I agree! I have heard playing slots be compared to "enjoying a nice glass of wine/cognac or a good cigar"...

I guess I'd consider it different from poker because poker is very much a mind game, and about doing things to represent situations that are not necessarily the case to trick the other players. But there is strategy in blackjack, so at least I don't feel like I'm just spinning a roulette wheel, you know?

....while carefully cutting up banknotes with a pair of nail scissors ;)

HAH! That's why slot players love bonuses? "Bigger bank" of banknotes?
I imagine strategy (blackjack) players aren't as big on bonuses?

I was chatting with someone the other day about Asian gamblers...well more so the games they play...
I know Mahjong is big and have heard of Pai Gow Poker and now Fan Tan...

Which casinos do Asian games really well?

Slot players are happy bunnies when the house is blowing out cash
Slot players are cat kicking sociopathic screaming health risks when the house is on a sucking up cash day

Players of standard 'cartoon' blackjack games are completely deluded as to what they are dealing with and frankly deserve to suffer as a stupidity tax
Players of only Live dealer blackjack games are astute and deserve the wind at their back and a leprechaun at their feet

Online casino gamers are the players that don't need schedule and the night to play… and are not lonely people.
Roulette players are the ones that like to guess and predict, the ones that like to find strategies to win…. and are not calm, passives…
Slot players are the ones that like to try luck, motivated by "you never know" for jackpot, are mesmerized by the colors and sounds … and are not thinkers to strategy…
Video Poker players are the ones that like poker but are not good with making bluff, like to guess is own hand… and are not to compete with other people…
Black Jack players are the ones like to sum to 21 and think, predict the next move, like to control is own game… and are not …

Roulette Players are dedicated to beating the wheel and are not afraid to use any means
Roulette Players are always evolving their game plan and are not stuck in one system
Roulette Players are creative people and are not accepting a casino advantage
Roulette Players ARE where others are NOT
