Good afternoon,

I have deposit like a fool at one of the online casinos which “apparently “ do not accept players from UK.
I deposited via credit card.
What are my chances if i want to chargeback under section 75. As in my opinion my bank is also at fault for allowing these transactions from a CC which is not allowed in the uk.

The merchant on my cc name is not the same as the casino probably to hide their true identity.

Anyone who has done this previously?

Sadly yes, there are hundreds of people on here and many threads concerning unlicensed scam casinos taking UK players and deposits - your rights are the square root of zero. Any payment, winnings or otherwise, are paid on a purely arbitrary basis as they have no regulation or weak regulation.

To enable deposits via credit cards (not permitted under UKGC rules) they use scam processors to disguise their fraud.

So this does give you one advantage as you can maintain that your Chinese carpet or whichever nonsense they disguise their illegal gambling with has not appeared or you don't recognize the transaction, which technically you don't.

So yes, by all means use sec 75 as the casino can hardly contest it by saying you were given gambling stakes for your money when the CC companies know damn well they cannot fund gambling for UK residents. If you search the forum, this is not an unusual scenario and there are many who received refunds under sec 75 and a few that didn't.

NEVER play at non-UKGC casinos if resident there!

Conker and dunover. Is your above advice just re credit card transactions. What about debit card deposits? Seems too easy. You deposit at the casino and if you win great but if you lose just do a charge back - surely it cant be that easy. Im not a lawyer so might be wrong but I think contracts for illegal activities are not enforceable in the UK plus as you mention they use billing companies youve never heard of so presumably cant oppose it or pursue you for the money. But just seems too easy as its a risk free bet so to speak??

Thinking about it the contract is under a foreign jurisdiction so issue is you may be able to get funds back via cashback but they probably could enforce against you abroad then bring the judgement for enforcement in the UK. Don't know how UK courts would view a valid overseas judgement for an illegal activity. It might be one of those cases where the funds are refunded but then you still owe the money. Question is whether the casino would try to pursue you or not.

Here is some info for those planning to play on fake casinos - usually promoted on affiliate sites that teach you about how "good" those so-called "Best Casinos not on GamStop UK" are.

MC and Visa are processing payments for illegal gambling websites that lack required UK licenses. Players report being unable to cash out winnings and having accounts deleted after complaints, etc.
