On December 1 a law in the U.S. was supposed to go into effect which would ban all financial institutions(including credit card companies) from accepting deposits from gambling sites. The day before the before the law was to go into effect it was put on hold for 6 months to enable congress to review the possiblity of making OL gambling legal.

It took the credit card companies a few days to change their software back to allow gambling deposits.

Just ahead of the ban the casinos scrambled to find other alternative methods like ewallet to enable U.S. players to continue gambling. Many put in place blocks in their software to prevent credit card transactions from even getting to the credit card companies sending messages back to the player that his deposit had been rejected and to use ewallet. This is fraud of course!

When my deposit using credit card was rejected I called my credit card company and they verified that no transaction had ever been sent to them and that they had not rejected any transactions relative to my account. I then went to the ewallet site and some support rep their spilled her guts about how my deposit would never be rejected at my casino if I used ewallet. The reason being that the ewallet is kicking back money to the casino on every transaction referral.

Ewallet of course charges obscene fees for using their services so you as the consumer get screwed!

I believe we will see more of this blocking of transactions to credit cards because from the casino's point of view they save the 3% fee the credit card company charges them and in addtion are getting kick backs from ewallet.

My advice is to shop around before making a deposit. Some casinos are back to putting through credit card transactions and some are not.
