notice to delete pics at 3dice storage

im not shure what this means but in chat at 3 dice theres mention that there pics will be deleted

concern is about the ones displayed in the winners thread

will they go pooof or are they backed up by this site ???

The ones posted will remain in the threads. I use photobucket for mine and they will always be there. Once the image has been captured by something else like photobucket they stay on your account even if the original source is deleted.

I remember seeing in a config somewhere where you could take a screen shot right in their software. I'm guessing that's what they're going to purge. Who knows why. Maybe to free up storage, maybe to cancel the feature? They can't delete offsite screenshots stored by their owners.

i have a photo bucket account but i did post quite a few from the 3 dice
storage by copying properties url and paste it directly here with out my own photo bucket storage account involved

If you are displaying any pic by using their URL, then if they delete on their end, your pic will be gone (dead URL). You have to bring up the image in a browser with their URL, save/copy it to your hard drive as a picture file (jpg, bmp, gif, whatever), then upload it to photobucket as a picture file, then link to it here. Or you can store it here by uploading (manage attachments).

Just to clarify, anytime you use the "Send screenshot to my 3Dice" option whether you are in tournament mode or real mode it will send your screenshot to your profile at 3Dice.com.

At this stage the screenshots are only visible by you on your profile when you log into 3Dice.com. There is an option to "publish" the screenshot which will let other members see them when they view your profile.

The screenshots continue to build up in the background from all the screenshot chat hunts and other reasons. You can imagine how much space this takes up to host all these shots so they "purge" them.

If you have selected the "publish" option then your screenshots are safe from this "purge". Also this is only referring to the unpublished screenshots at 3Dice and nowhere else. If you have them posted at this forum or in your photobucket (or other image hosting website) then you are safe.

Exactly...if you've published them they are safe...finally a way to clean up those unwanted ss from hunts eheh
