Say Starburst II, similar graphics and speed but with 6 reels and only 2 expanding wild stars (on reel 3 and 4) and the potential for many monster hits (~DoA variance and TRTP).

Would you play it?

I think online casino softwares are missing the boat by not releasing very high variance 6 reels slots, unlike their land based counterparts.

A higher variance version of a lot of their slots would be very welcome, Starburst in particular though as it's such an aesthetically gorgeous slot and a joy to play - apart from the fact you can never really win anything on it! :D

They don't even need to alter the variance as such, more just change the balance of pays on some of them. Far too much of the RTP on NetEnt slots is wasted on crappy 1x-10x wins IMO, which they'd be far better off putting towards 100x-200x stake hits, a very similar profile to WMS' low-medium variance slots.

A higher variance version of Starburst could work by simply making the wilds sticky for a spin or two, or sticking a multiplier in there, with all three wilds paying X4 or something like that.

That's also a very good idea (but then again, I'm a sucker for the newest 6 reel slots). :D I think you'd like them too Chop, it's Bruce Lee style (you basically never win but when you do, you win big. No RTP wasted on useless small wins).

There's a good video here if anyone missed it.

The slot is so boring and soporific, a guaranteed RTP of 150% might just tempt me to put my sunglasses on and give it a spin. The bright colours and lack of involvement means it reminds me of a toddler's plastic toy that makes a sound or lights up when chucked across the room.

They should change the symbols to Melinda Messenger, Jordan, Chastity Dingle and Faith Brown and call the thing 'BraBurst' and make it a little more interesting....:D

I knew you'd come and say that :D
Maybe I like it because it's "old school"; no bonus round, no "pick me", no fancy characters and stuff. It's very "clean". To each their own...

Sounds like you need instead of a trip to Vegas, a trip to the UK and a VIP pass to an AWP high-street amusement arcade and a pub tour. Chopley will show you the sights, I'm sure!:D

I did watch a couple of his AWP videos and I really don't think I'd like it (can't stand the MG AWPs either). I'm a basic slot machine guy and like to keep the sounds and lights show at a minimum. Bars and 7's are just fine, no need for sport cars, cats, boats and vampires. ;)

I became interested in video slots fairly recently; until a couple of years ago I'd not even touch the video slots in a casino and only play the "real" mechanical slots (and Keno).

Which reminds me again that we don't have any good Keno game online, what a shame.

5 reels with stacked wilds will do the trick.

It's already got that effectively, since the BAR is the top paying symbol and the WILDS don't have a pay of their own, and the BARS are stacked across all reels already.

A full screen of BARS pays 500x stake on the current Starburst, and it'd still pay 500x stake with all five reels stacked wild - they'd need to give the WILDS a pay of their own, or make the BARS worth more for it to make any difference.

I will never play a game for real money where the top award is just 500x. And it seems impossible to hit close to all bars.

I've been negative about them but I have to say that both Wild Turkey and Muse has been really, really good to me so far. Probably won 3000x bet in the last few days. In one session on Muse I went from a balance of €15 to €265 betting €0.25 a spin. Got three features that paid over 300x.

My go to NetEnt-slots atm are DOA, Disco Spins (am I the only one?), Wild Turkey and Muse.

some free spins with a multiplier would be nice or spins with increased stars

you could fashion it on aristocrats wicked winnings where a special symbol on reels 1 and 5 triggers bonus spins, burst sort of already works like it with the stacked wilds holding each time you get a star like it does on wicked winnings if you drop in a stack of ladies each consecutive spin.

I cannot for the life of me get any enjoyment out of this slot. Starburst to me has to be the most boring, brain meltingly annoying slot i have ever played :D Sorry but it wouldnt matter to me if they ten times the prize levels id still say the same :)

No!
I really like Disco Spins - it can give some pretty decent wins! (Of course, you already know I prefer the low to mid variance slots anyway).
I ALWAYS pick the 10 "Disco Spins" free-spins - I can't see the point of the "normal" 15 @ x3 spins...

KK

{Edit to add}
After posting that I just HAD to go and play it...
Started on €330, and DOUBLED that in about 30 mins after getting the free-spins 4 or 5 times inside about 200 spins.
THAT'S why I like it! :D
