Neteller

I have a sinking feeling that the reason for the timeouts is because Neteller is working on blocking US residents.

I had a delay over at 7Slutans last night, although it hit my account, it didn't show till I entered a game. Normally a NT transaction is super quick, but, it seemed to hang for ages in the banking section as if it's connection was being throttled.

With the news that's come out in this thread:

I wouldn't at all be surprised if your gut feeling is not far from the mark

Whilst on the conspiracy trail...

Who remembers the thread about Neteller asking for people's Social Security # for proof of ID.

It was a long time ago maybe 3 or 4 years ago. There were rumours then that NT was in bed with the some US gov Depts or @ least the IRS.

Does anyone else find it a little bizarre given that NT handles billions of dollars in gambling wages each year, that they've been able to fly under the radar for all these years...

I wouldn't be surprised if (going on the above link) if a lot of high turn over US Neteller accounts have not been handed over to Big Brother already, probably been going on for ages...

I tried using my Neteller ATM card today and three seperate cashpoints said there was a problem with the transaction and couldn't dish out the Moolah. And yes I checked the balance before I left home :D

Dunno if this is linked but it's the first time it's happened :(

Unfortunately I think I have pretty much reached the point where I have no choice but to be finished with online gaming.

I uninstalled all except 5 casinos and one poker room the other day. I'm still waiting for the $100 I "deposited" 10 hours ago to find its way into my account. After I lose that deposit I'll cash in my comp points and uninstall that casino and 3 others, leaving one last casino, who I am waiting on for $250 in comps. Then I'll get rid of them too but I will leave the poker room because I can play freerolls there. Yippee.

Same problem here. Like Slotsjunkie, I'm waiting for a deposit of $100 to appear in my casino account due to Neteller/casino error several hours ago.
What a pain.

Same thing happened yesterday with a different casino but that was straightened out within an hour or so.

**heavy sigh** And here I am again... waiting on yet another deposit to find it's way into my casino account. I emailed NETeller, they sent me the NT #. I sent the NT# to the casino a couple of hours ago. So here I sit.

NETeller VIP CS says they are working to get this problem sorted out. I know they are, but dang...

Well, I'm back again too - why oh why did I go and deposit again with Neteller???

Still haven't received the first one - casino tells me the NT I gave them doesn't match their records. Neteller says it's the correct one.
Worse than that is that I received an email from casino stating that Neteller won't give them client information so nothing can be done until I give them the correct NT #!!!

What is happening with Neteller?? This is extremely frustrating, and by the looks of it, expensive for me.

Well, I'm going to bed now and with any luck, both my casino accounts will be funded by tomorrow morning.

This is reminiscent of the total chaos with Neteller many months ago - I'm still down $50 from that fiasco.

My most recent 'lost' deposit (attempted around 7 p.m. last evening) is still out there in cyberspace. I did receive an email from casino CS at 4:43 a.m this morning.

Thank you for your e-mail.

We thank you for all your efforts in obtaining these details.

I have logged a timeout request with the relevant department to have your funds retrieved on your behalf.

This will be attended to shortly.

Still nothing in my account. All the MG casinos must have a terrible back log of 'missing' deposits to contend with.

I deposited at Global Player Friday night with no problem. I may try ClubUSA (RTG) this morning. I'd like to play a little bit before the weekend is over.

You just reminded me of another advantage of not withdrawing my funds all the time like most of you guys here do...

Mousey, I think you are right.

I had no problem depositing at INetBet but both deposits at MG casinos (different groups) never made it there.

It is the same problem at both - the NT number Neteller gave me does not match the one the casino has.

In the long run, I will probably save money because if it's not sorted out, I won't be depositing again.

Don't forget.

Don't forget,

Monday Maintenance tomorrow. They don't tell the players, but very likely Neteller will be screwed up for a few hours at around 2am ET.

This has been the case the last few Mondays, and it seems there must be a fair bit of "Mainteinance" to get done.

I have not had trouble due to me playing more of my lucky streak in Golden Reef. I have an offer at Jackpot Factory, and plan to get it in before the maintainence.

Given that Neteller told me they saw no problem, seems odd they admit to be "working on it".

When I had to email NT support for yet another NT number and apologized for the repeated requests they replied with the necessary info and:

Hello Again!!!

......
We really are trying to fix this, I'm sure you think I'm fibbing but its
true, really! lol

Thank you for your patience.

I deposited at ClubUSA today. The deposit took much longer than usual and I was holding my breath that it wasn't going to time out. It came thru ok. I deposited at Hype this afternoon and it timed out. Chat was up and my account was credited promptly. My wayward deposit to a Fortune Lounge casino (from last night) however, still has not been credited and chat tells me that the financial people won't work on the time outs till Monday. Great.

Hopefully maintenance at NETeller tomorrow will fix whatever the problem is.

Just a thought. Is this time out thing only affecting those of us in North America? What about you folks on the other side of the pond? No problems w/NETeller time outs?

Unfortunately not 3 time outs in 2 days. ( 1 MG casino 2 on other groups ) Mailed NETeller CS for nearly 24 hours ago for the NT code no answer jet. Great service. Last time I had to wait 36h for an answer time to change to another payment method I think.

I think a more important issue is that of timeouts. Yet again I have had the misleading error message at a Microgaming casino to "try again later", but finding the funds have left my Neteller account.
While timeouts will happen, it should at least fail safe, and it is about time the error message was changed as it is highly misleading to suggest that the player simply "try again" without first checking with Neteller that the funds have not gone into limbo.

I have suggested this time that the merchant server for the casino send back a receipt to Neteller to confirm the funds have arrived in the casino account, and only on receipt of this would the funds be removed from the Neteller account. Currently, Neteller sends an "NT" code, and the success of sending this seems enough to have the funds removed from the account. It seems the timeout happened after this, leading to the code arriving, but not the funds, so the transfer to the casino did not happen.
While it can be sorted by quoting the offending NT code to the casino, this can be a pain, as first it is necessary to phone Neteller, and then phone the casino. Depending on standards, this could involve being "on hold" in two queues. I would far rather just try again later without the hassle.

I do not know in which waste paper basket this suggestion will be filed, and whether the filing will be by Neteller or Microgaming.
I have had the same "timeout" issue with my last 2 deposits. Yes, its a pain having to call Neteller to get the NT number, then having to call the casino to give it to them. The good news (if you can call it that) is that the casino straightened it out pretty quickly the first time (less than an hour), but when you're ready to play and have a limted amount of time, an hour is a long time. The 2d time happened about 2 hours ago, and the funds are still not in my casino account.

Anybody else notice that instacashes are taking a couple of days extra to clear. Seems like for a bout a month now.
I too agree , timeouts are becoming very prevelent, been running into this several times a day for the past several days.

Slow

Although I only had the one timeout, I am noticing that all my deposits hang for AGES before completing. These used to go through quickly, and it was only credit card deposits that took time.

My deposit was declined but my card was debited...
Been waiting for an email reply from Neteller accounting for 6days now...
Nothing...
My bank told me that unless Neteller cancels the transaction, I have to wait 21days for it to clear automatically...

I think I finally have all my transactions cleared up. Took a couple of days at one of the FL casinos, because their financial people who handle time outs only work Mon - Fri. In times past, if I am able to contact live chat immediately following such a time out they usually credit it without much delay. I was unable to connect w/live chat at the time, thus the long wait to get my account credited.

I deposited at Villento last night and the NETeller transaction took forever to process (I sat holding my breath with fingers crossed) but it eventually came through ok.

It took about 46h to clear up these transaction 40h for NETeller to supply the NT code , 6h in the casinos end . What a mess. And to day it happened AGAIN ( MG-casino) .:eek2: Seems to me that about 1 :4 or5 transactions goes in the ditch. To me NETeller is no longer a reliable service. Shame.

Neteller card

I did go ahead and order a neteller card today. The fees are hard to swallow, but I suppose it might be nice to have one should my bank suddenly panic and stop allowing neteller deposits.

Has anyone ever used a neteller card to make a point-of-sale purchase? (the fees are a bit lower for this option than for ATM withdrawal)

I've had a Neteller card for some time, and whilst I have never needed to use it for point-of-sale purchasing, I can vouch for the fact that it works in many parts of the world on ATMs. But you're right - the charges sting.
