Neteller starts to charge buddy transfers by 1% up to $10!

I was just about to send a friend a few euros, and then I got a new message about fees.

I contacted support and got this answer:

thanks for info mate. I did not know this. Oh well thank you very much neteller for more crappy FEES!!!

Like they don't get plenty already. Just their 9,99% on mypaysafecard is a joke and their conversion rates / exchange as well is a joke.

Same goes with their VIP rewards are also a joke and not really worth it either as you only get tiny benefits...I am on silver diamond now. I was happy getting one more additional Euro account (already got pounds) and when i tried making deposit to it I had it rejected and refused. Because I cant deposit with my visa into my euro account......hmm nevermind neteller.

Yeah they have so many fees now :( Even at the higher reward levels this applies from what I heard, that's pretty sick. Cause to get those levels you transfer A LOT of money..

I can also mention that you can choose if the sender or receiver should pay the fee, and that receivers now have to log in and accept the transaction before it's approved.

If at least on Silver diamond they should say no fees and up. But guess not just crazy. Can only think what will be next.....

I've read about this change in an email they send me a couple of weeks ago.

It's the Gold VIP level where most benefits start like personal account manager, no ATM withdrawal fees, much lower FX rates and much higher limits on POS purchases or ATM withdrawals.

The required level of $100,000 transfered to merchants per year is really tough though, let alone the requirements for higher levels ($500,000 for platinum and $2,000,000 for diamond). I mean $2 MILLION :eek2:
Skrill's highest VIP level is reachable with €90,000k in 3 month, far far more realistic.

Makes all this even more hilarious that they are same company now lol

I hope this doesn't mean that casino withdrawal fees to Neteller will increase, I'm not sure if it's the same type of transfer.

Normally it's not the same type of transfer: a withdrawal from, or deposit to casino is either merchant to member or member to merchant, whereas the one on topic is member to member or "money transfer"
and the merchant's transactions have already been paid for so to speak, or at least that is how it was...

Has anybody already received or tried to do a player to player transfer since this change? And if so, can they confirm if all is working properly?

Cheers

Having so much fees is really a kind of disappointing. Even on the part that the when the sender or receiver needs to pay the fees plus receivers still needs to login and is required to accept it first before being approved, it’s just too time consuming. Will somebody verify to me if it is working smoothly already? I want to read some feedback how it was going for those who tried it already.

Received a few so far, all but one required login+confirmation, i am presuming that was, because on all but one i had to pay the fees:)

Didn't check up on that with chat yet, but this would seem logical. So, i think if someone sends you, and pays the fees, you don't have to log in to confirm...

Anyway, i don't mind logging in to confirm really, as it goes quickly enough to complete that process, so...

It's common practice for a business to provide cheap or free, good service and then start tacking on more fees and higher prices once they have a customer base. I can't stand all of these fees that Neteller has but what option do I have? I don't use Skrill anymore because of security issues. Is there another e wallet that I should try?

Hi,

Does anyone really know why is Paypal out of the question?
Is it that Paypal for some reason wants to distance itself from gambling activities or something?
Never really understood why almost none in gambling uses or accepts Paypal for payments.
