Hi folks, now that neteller is dead in the water, has anyone got experience of using Moneybookers, they have been recommended to me by a mate?

Cheers,

Daz

Moneybookers is very good. I use it always!

Cheaper fees than Neteller, and assistance is very good.

Just deposit with credit card or local wire transfer (Most countries support it).
Then cash out with speedy check ir wire transfer to your account.

;)

I used to be with Neteller but I had nothing but problems with them.
Many many many problems.
They deserve to go bust and that is all there is to it.
Phew! that off my chest;

I've been with Moneybookers for over a Year now and thus far have had absolutely no problems with them.
Just read up on the charges etc and if you find them favourable then take the usual sensible security precautions when using E-commerce and you should have no problems.

Not to mention the fact that they take their security serious. They seem to be handling this sensitive matter in a much more professional and punctual way.

After all, you do have to trust them with your money. The only reason you should trust neteller is that their fees are so high they must want the business ..

big thumbs up for moneybookers ..

Always be cautions: Moneybookers is less secure than Neteller.

Please motivate this statement ..

I'll explain why neteller's "security" system is about as secure as a doorlock on a cabrio.

The biggest problem of all .. is that neteller's api provides in absolutely no (none) control over their own security. Ever noticed how when you make a
deposit .. anywhere .. you enter all your account info on a page served by the reseller ? Whereas moneybookers account info you only enter on the moneybookers site ? .. this means that you give all the info needed to get your money to all the parties where you ever use your neteller account.

If there is a security breach in any of those .. there's nothing neteller can do about it. Whereas with moneybookers. You only have to trust moneybookers. no reseller ever gets your account info .. and its never on the reseller's server .. so even if that gets hacked .. your account info is safe. Their security model begins and ends on their own site, under their control.

But there are more signs on the wall that demonstrate the difference between the approach of both companies. On moneybookers, its a lot more difficult to create an account, and to fund new accounts with other accounts etc. You are regulary prompted to re-enter specific user details etc .. That is not to improve the customer experience .. In contrast .. on the neteller site you can assume a false idenity and get money on it in minutes .. they practically market that (and of course .. take the fee).

And those are just the signs .. lets not forget that netellers "strategy" now caused 1000's of users to no longer have access to their own funds, and still you find people praising them .. they didnt stay on the american market to make a statement or become a hero, they stayed only to take the large fees they take, with no respect whatsoever for the risk they were putting their own customers in.

Once again, big thumbs up for moneybookers.

Moneybookers is really the best, because on neteller i've always a bad feeling, when i make a withdrawal to them.
The problem is, that inetbet only accept withdrawals up to $ 250.- to moneybookers, so i sometimes must use this :(

I'm using now moneybookers about 2 years and never have any problems with them and if you make a withdrawal to your bank account it would be always in 2 working days on your account, but neteller needs even 1 day, before they make the money transfer to your bank account!

I opened up an account with Moneybookers but so far haven't used it. To deposit using your bank account, do you physically have to go to the bank to do it?

Is it easier to deposit by credit card? If you check the area asking if this is for gaming purposes, does that mean the credit card company will look at it as a cash advance with all the associated fees?

Thanks.

I don't know how "onlinebanking" works at canada, but in austria we get bank details and then we put the bank accountnumber and bank number in the onlinebanking field ;)

In 3 days the money should be on your moneybookers account without any fees!

I think, that this one also works for another countries, but you can look at the option "transfer funds" when you logged in :)

Or if you have a debit card use that it is charge free to upload funds.
Also if in doubt check the box for non gaming it is nobodies business but yours.

Thanks again Mike. I use online banking all the time but Moneybookers seems to work a bit different to what I'm used to.
Will check the transfer funds option.

Cheers

Step 1. You log on to your moneybookers account. Go to upload funds. Choose bank transfer. Now you can see a screen with some information:

Account holder: Moneybookers Ltd.
Bank: xxx Bank
City/Town: xxx
Account number:
Account currency: USD
Reference: Your user ID - MUST BE PROVIDED!

You copy these data or write it down to a paper, and you can log off from moneybookers.

Step 2. You log on to your Internet banking page, and initiate a bank transfer. You fill in the necessary fields with the data you got before at moneybookers, and make the transfer. In a few days your founds will be available on your moneybookers account, and your limits will be increased. Note: It is very important to add your moneybookers user ID to the reference field. You must initiate the transfer from your own account, and direct pay-in (you go to moneybooker's bank, and pay-in to their account) to moneybooker's account is not allowed. Of course you can also go to your bank, and make a transfer with the above data there instead of online banking. Should you break any of these rules, the money will be returned, and you will be charged a fee. Good luck!

Or if you have a debit card use that it is charge free to upload funds.

Are you sure? For me there's a 1.90 % fee associated (VISA card).

Ignore the previous question. I found out I can't use money deposited by credit card (at Moneybookers) at any casino.

If I select "not using money deposited for gaming purposes" at Moneybookers then I can't use it at a casino (banking won't let it go through)and if I select "using money for gaming purposes" then Visa won't let me deposit at Moneybookers.

Unfortunately I can't initiate a transfer online with my bank.

Guess Moneybookers is out, but now I have $50 in there that can't be spent anywhere but at their terrific stores.

You can do it in the bank office. Just go to your bank and make the transfer USING YOUR BANK ACCOUNT. If you use another account that you don't own or make the transfer with cash (anonimous) they will refuse the money.

That's to avoid money washing

PD: If you can't do anything, just request cash out...

I never used there a credit card, so i can't help you with this question, but i have a complain to moneybookers' support!

I've send them 3 times a question, 2 weeks ago, but i had never got any answer from them!

I only wanted to aks them, why i can "deposit" some money on moneybookers, but can't use it, because i paid in some money and i can not use it now!

Normally you can use 16.000.- within 90 days, but i haven't know, that a bank transfer will also be added to this balance, because i thought, that the 16.000.- Euro will only be for sending money to another email addresses or anything else.

So i asked their, how can i change this, to use my money, which is now 2 weeks in my account, but i never got any answer and that's really too bad, so i'll never use it in the future, because on Neteller i have even a 24/7 support!

so you have to get your money out of moneybookers in chunks, mike031, boohoo. you pulled in two 10k scores this week. so chill  everyone wishes they were you right now. ask also if they would raise your limit, like a credit limit. if they know you want to move large sums around, they can probably arrange it, but just impose a limit by default in case anything fraudulent or scammish happens. hope you get some answers from them. don't go back to neteller, they pulled out of canada for no good reason! schmucks! :D i should go enter the cash draws with my netpoints and withdraw any balance if i have one, i don't know if i ever checked this. i think i deliberately calculated my final casino deposit from neteller to zero out my balance.

fwiw i recommend moneybookers highly; once you get some money in there it is smooth sailing and feels very secure when it reroutes the page for you to sign in and complete the casino deposits. and once you deposit to a casino using moneybookers, you can always fund the mb account using other forms of deposit at the casino and withdrawing it to mb. but make sure to gamble a bit or else it looks like you're straight washing the cash when really you just want a faster turnaround and less fees.

Yes i know, but this have nothing to do with moneybookers, so if i can deposit money as i want, i want also use this for playing in another casinos, that's it ;)

sure enough that is a little dumb you put in money and it's useless, but why were you even depositing more? 20k's not enough to keep you playing without dipping into your own pockets? ;) congrats on the wins though eh :notworthy i almost want to play slots sometimes now

Sorry, but i didn't know, that i must end with playing, when i have won 20k Dollars ;)

As i said, it's not important "why" i deposit on moneybooker,s because it's a principial thing and btw. this money was deposited, before i hit my 2nd jackpot, so it is on my moneybookers account now 10 days and i can't use it.

i prefered always moneybookers, because i can deposit there my money in real time about my internetbankingm and on neteller i can't deposit anything, because you need a credit card for this, or you must make a wire transfer, but this costs surely a minimum of 20-30.-, so it's not really an alternative ;)

Did you complete all verifications step? The address verification for instance? Just because my 90 days limit is somewhat higher than 16.000 EUR. I guess this limit includes all (in-out transactions). So your upload has "eaten up" your limit, and you can't send funds... Did you use the internal message system (Contact-> Messaging Centre)? Because they only answer those automated emails...

Yes i have done all correct, i set up my limit with registering my bank account and get also an code on my home address, so it's all ok.

I sent them a request 2 times about their homepage and there is extra an option for complains on their side, but i never got any response and i think that's not really a good service!

It's also a little misterious, that i can fil my moneybookers account with more money, but couldn't use it after that!

When the limit is reached, then it should be nothing available, but it can't be, that i can pay on my moneybookers account (as an example) thousand euros, but can't use 1 euro *lol*

I see. In my cases they reacted within 24 when I used the messaging centre. The 16.000 limit is definitely too low considering your transactions and balance, so I guess they would increase it if you request a review of your account, because you can't increase it on your own initiative. But I think they have a strange policy regarding the messaging centre, if you resend the same or a similar request before the original request is processed, then they will put your request to the end of the queue as a penalty. So probably you might want to wait a bit, and see what happens.

but how long should i wait? the last message was sent last week, so should i wait 1-2 months, or maybe longer?

i also know, that i have contact them in the past with another problem and there i also got an answer within 1 day, but what now happens, is not okay for me!

i use them now some years and they earnd a lot of money from me (direct moneytransfer from my bank accoutn costs 0,9% extra fees!), so i think they can give me a little more respect, when i ask them a question!

I agree Mike.

One would think they would be falling over themselves trying to help you out, given that some of that $$$ might well flow through their system again and make them even more profits down the track!!

The other annoying thing is that the 'local bank transfers' take too long - it shouldnt take 5 days for a transfer of funds in one's own currency. I've had actual bank wires take half the time

Cant wait for the new Neteller card - it might be slightly more expensive, but at least I get it right away and it doesnt have to flow through my bank account.

Ok, if it was sent last week, then it's a different story. Did you try to call them? Then you could ask whether you should wait, or what's going on...

why should i pay extra for a call to england, only because they're incompetent to answer me?

Of course you're right, I understand that. But sometimes if you would like to resolve something quickly, you might have to do someone else's homework. You might use an internet-based IP phone provider, the most known one charges 0.017 EUR/minute from Austria to U.K.

Ok, now i've called them with my inetphone and then i got an email with all needed documents and after that i sent them my passportscan and a screenshot from a moneybookers withdrawal to my bankaccount and now i have my limit up to € 41.000.-, so it's € 5.000.- higher, as on Neteller ;)
