I'm interested to see how almost everyone here (sorry US people) rate these two providers side-by-side these days? And although I play slots mostly now, this poll is equally as applicable to table games and video poker players also.

I've been playing both recently and up until earlier this year, Playtech's slots edged it for me but now I find I am back playing MG more and I have tried to work out why. I've always preferred MG's video poker though.

It's a combination of factors. Over-exposure to the games leads to boredom to some degree but I've never ever got bored of Thunderstruck and Great Blue. Microgaming's more recent games Immortal Romance, Playboy, Girls With Guns are all excellent. But so too are Playtech's recent Avengers, John Wayne and Iron Man 3.

I think the main reason I am playing more MG is that the betting increments suit my game better (50 spins, no feature, increase the bet etc) and you can't do that with the new Playtech slots - not without re-mortgaging anyway! They just don't suit medium-rollers unfortunately.

I'm particularly interested in how people who play BJ, Roulette and other card games compare the two?

A Quick Peak into the Winner Screenshots section will tell a lot. I used to play MG and Playtech, then moved to MG over Playtech.

MG and Playtech in essence can attract players from the same jurisdiction but I barely see Playtech screenshots in this thread. I loved the Marvel games but then soon got off them because your ability to win a huge amount is minimal. I'm not saying its easier to win on MGS, but my biggest cash outs have come from there.

I also find that IF there is a decent Playtech - Like Paddy, the games are laggy and they are yet to even fix their home page that's so full of flash. Their Bonuses are ludicrous with Wagering requirements and VIP offers are poor.

Betfred on the other hand pays too slow to E-wallets and leaves WD's pending - Their Bonuses are phantom as well. Boyle don't always keep up to date with their Playtech Casino and lots of the newer slots often come in very late compared to the other Casinos.

I think that Playtech Slots are great, but there are a number of contributing factors that make me decide to play another provider.

I play MG mostly on 32Red but Netent is also a contender that has come in and has better offers than MG and Playtech (Apart from 32Red)

I don't play ANY tables unless its LIVE so i cannot comment much on that aspect!

I play both (along with some IGT stuff and the odd dip into Cryptologic)

but i have voted for Playtech.

Microgaming nine liners classics will always be a substantial part of my playtime, but for me their new releases have been a load of pony for a long time now.
Identikit 243 line guff like Immortal Romance, Finer reels, TS2 and Playboy etc leaves me totally cold, but they seem to be the direction MGS are hardwired to following.

Playtech continue to lead with what I would view as 'proper' slots. Great Blue has a big following, though I find it very streaky. Penguin vacation is one of my favourite slots ever, with big payouts and it defintely feels less streaky bearing in mind the variance.
Marilyn Monroe is hard to find on some playtech joints, but woth tracking down. The backstage bonus (not unlike an adults version of the Penguin vacation bonus) can really hit the spot.

I also find that IF there is a decent Playtech - Like Paddy, the games are laggy...

Interesting. In general I don't find that an issue but there is quite often a lag on the Marvel slots between the spin ending and the Spin button being re-activated which can be really annoying.

I find a lot of lag on Microgaming's Quickfire games though.

In sheer quantity even allowing for reglasses/clones MG have the edge. I wouldn't read too much into the lack of screenies as Playtech are not played by as many as MG, but unfortunately on here especially many are aware of Playtech's association with rogues and ridiculous 4-day pending periods which put one off. Obviously PP/Boyle etc. provide Playtech with fast cashouts but compared to MG they seem to be very streaky and eat deposits fast. Now we have the cretinous decision by Playtech casinos to withhold jackpots from players and drip-feed the win when they've been paid up front. Not good enough. So, MG all the way for me.

Have a look at how many Playtech sites have warnings these days. They used to be solid, right next to MG and Netent but things have changed. I like Playtech games (Kong, Pink Panther) but if you want to win big and get paid then it's better to stick with MG. Sad but true.

I Agree to an extent but they also have pretty much all the bookmakers tied up now: Paddy Power, Betfred, Boyle, Bet365, Coral, Gala etc. so you don't have to run the 4-day cashout gauntlet anymore which is good.

No Playtech for me as I am in the same boat as USA players since 2008. Since PT revamped their games in 2005/06 I was absorbed by their colourful slots but somehow I don't feel comfortable with their fairness or possibly high variance. For MG slots, more so sooner than later you can a real big win after a barren period that helps you recoup most of your losses on a particular slot. For PT its either boom or bust. Table games kill you, like it or not.

playtech wins this one for me . its just far better than MG , if you play at the places i do withdrawals arnt a problem , playtech table games & micro gaming are just clones of machines ( imho ), i wouldnt reccommend anyone play table games at either unless it was live games , mg showed netent the way forward by just spilling out piles of crap unless this changes theyre shant be as many players , at least playtech does spend some time on some different slots )

Yes this is a problem for me at MG. I simply lost interest for quite a while because you had to wade through lots of average new games to find the good ones. In fact, even now I usually wait for feedback here before I bother looking at the new MG games whereas new Playtech's are rarer and easier to follow.

That said, even Playtech seem to be releasing some average games these days. Seen Plenty O' Riches? Total rip-off of Rainbow Riches lol.

yep your spot on with that , theres also another game well theres now four games all being a rip of book of ra , which are rome, glory captains pro , thai paradise & theyve just churned out another in new package , pretty much all the same slot different pictures although got to be honest theyre my favourties so they can keep churning those out )

Playtech takes it

playtech usually do it for me as far as variety of games - I like to switch it up once in a while so it's good to have choice.
When payouts are concerned anything with a jackpot is a plus so Marvels would have to be my favourite for sure.:notworthy

I find a lot of lag on Microgaming's Quickfire games though.

There were times when I've started playing a Marvel game and quit after only a few spins because of this Marvel Jackpot lag. I download the Microgaming casinos and I find when the reels start spinning endlessly, if I drag the tab off the main application and drop the game down on it's own it'll stop spinning and carry on normally.

When I first started playing Playtech I had a couple of good runs and decent withdrawals but then about a year later I found I hadn't had a good run since and grew tired of playing the same half dozen games. I'm not all that fussy about most of the Playtech line up.

Microgaming has a lot more choice in spite of the fact that a large majority of them are just clones. I don't really win any more often with Microgaming but the favorites list is probably bigger than the entire Playtech line up.

I stay away from the 243 ways to lose line up. When they made these games it must have taken some serious screwing around with these reels for at least one of the first 3 reels not to match anything else on the screen. The only exception is Burning Desire. It's only a 25c game (per coin bet) and it seems to pop off 5 nines and 5 tens on a fairly regular basis.
